i used to watch Fox news and i was always angry because of it. after i stopped watching them i started to feel much better about everything. truth is, their whole purpose is to upset their viewers. that anger that they create makes people easier to manipulate and control. it's something that Trump really grabbed on to.

They literally think their "constitutional rights" are being violated when they are politely called out for being uniformed/childish/mean/etc.
Pointing out their hypocrisy is pointless because they are well aware of it. Their entire worldview is that they should be able to do whatever they want while forcing everyone else to do what they want. There is no intelligence, context, or even basic decency in any of it. It is a 2 year olds mindset that refuses to mature.

Lmbo SAME!! I just had a small Convo regarding a "country" song that clearly depicts opposing political beliefs in our country's citizens, referring to the "Lib" side as being "Offended", presumably by the "Right" side of Political views...... I was being shown this music video as an example of how "sensitive" the "Left" is. My response to their "point" was 'Its funny how people claim that others are sensitive to "the truth", yet here you are showing me a song and music video where the artist is clearly bothered or offended by opposing beliefs, to the extent that they made a song about it.... Kind of the same sh¡+ as "hating" Cancel Culture, but the moment a brand or business or product or just SOMEONE agrees with an opposing view, there's whole videos and rants about how these entities are "traitors" and should no longer be supported, for example, Bud Light and Anheuser Busch.....'. The lack of rebuttal, and silence following my statement spoke Volumes to me! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️. I say, you're entitled to your opinion, but the moment your opinion escapes your lips, you've opened a window for others to have an opinion on your opinion, and if you felt you had the right to yours, then everyone else has a right to theirs.... If you don't like other's opinions on yours, then don't put your opinions out there to be opinionated upon. 🤷🏻‍♀️😉

@@Bruelax11well here's the thing, alot of the books banned in schools, especially the homosexuality ones ended being banned as the result of sexual content in the stories, parents would go uo to the microphone and read some really uncomfortable stuff, like several of these books sexualized younger people, and the amount of detail was something that most would agree is completely and utterly inappropriate for a school library, and it wasn't just high schools... the material was often borderline or outright pornographic, if it were my kid, I'd prefer that shot be kept away, another issue you mentioned is the trans guy on the can, he abandoned his family to pursue his fetish, he lives his life playing make believe online for attention, some people.. believe that having gender issue is a legitimate mental illness, and that transitioning is not the right course of action, and again.. can you blame them? Having you actually seen what these people go through just to masquerade as having a woman's body? It's kind of sick yo watch, their minds seem to be slipping, and the fact that this is a relatively new phenomena only adds to the concern, and btw, despite what many trans rights activist try to tell you, this has not been a serious occurrence at any point in human history, that's not to say there weren't gay people and unichs and shit, but back then this was a very, very, very niche fetish

It's not the poor, the immigrants, or the minorities who are taking your jobs and pulling your wages down.

Rich white men figured out during the Bacon Rebellion if you pit poor whites against black people they will slice their own throats as long as they are doing in the name of the white people. These people do not think that immigrants are taking their jobs. They think that non whites taking their jobs. They are more than comfortable with shipping in Urkarans or other Eurpeans to take those jobs. And even light skin Hispanics (look at Cubans) but the idea that Americans of dark hues taking any job they do not want offends their sense of justice and fairness. Rich people use poor whites to violently hold power as every aristocrats has done.

It has everything to do with them believing wholeheartedly assertions that are documentedly false by trump and republican politicians alike, while all reality shows they are flat out wrong, fallacious in reasoning, etc. But then they also dont WANT to acknowledge the truth of everything either 😅 Some eventually will, not too many I believe, and it will be one of those crazy things that fades away after time. One of the craziest things is they are actively being anti America, and specifically being pro trump, and he pats them on the back and calls them "patriots". And he's literally a lifelong documented con man, fraudster, embezzler, self admitted and proud sexual assaulter etc. They'll believe what he says because he says what they want to hear, and uses them as absolute tools and fools, taking advantage of their naivety and preconceptions. Nothing else matters to them except for trump. This all really goes to show many people there are who are highly susceptible to suggestion and cons out there.

I just wanted to chime in as a white male and a former right-wing, gun rights advocate... The empathy you feel is the core of the difference between the right and the left. You reacting/expositing on these videos you are looking for and pointing out the common ground. I think anyone would struggle to find a right-wing commentator or content creator who could watch extreme left videos and they would not be able to calmly address the talking points or find even one point of common ground. Great video, if anything, I would say that you're being too kind to many of these people who have gone right past reality into a disturbing dystopia that doesn't exist.

    • @Kamishi845
      @Kamishi845 11 місяців тому +49

Want to chime in and say that based on my own observations and studies of this phenomenon (I loosely follow the global local trends of the far and extremist right out of personal self-interest), one notable key difference between left and right is the inherent hierarchical and authoritarian nature of the right. You can of course be economically right and not authoritarian e.g. a libertarian, but these people tend to nr more in the political center but to the right. But when we observe the actual conservative right, the need for social hierarchy means that you cannot empathize with people outside of your own group, because that would disrupt the hierarchy.
Another notable feature of the far right is that since it promotes a hierarchical worldview, it also promotes competition between supposed winners and losers, so people are actively encouraged to be selfish and only act in accordance with their own self-interests. In other words, it's a dog-eat-dog world. So all this dehumanizing of minority groups that we see in the far right is a direct result of this hierarchical structure of reality, because the fear is that if they don't cut down, they will be at the bottom instead.
Naturally, when you are in a competition, you also don't want to express empathy towards those you compete against, at least not when it's a dog-eat-dog world, because if you do, it's a surefire way to be eaten first.
The final point I want to add is that since the far right is built around hierarchy, it also means there must be a leader and a follower, and a majority of people are followers, not leaders. Due to the inherent competitive nature of a hierarchy, what this means is that people who aspire to become leaders and do not care to uphold any moral standards to get what they want will also be the ones that will naturally succeed the most, because they are not afraid to take advantage of others when it serves them. To get there they must also obviously convince the followers to follow them, usually by indirectly promising their followers that the followers will get to experience some or all of the benefits their leader experiences, as long as they do what the leader wants them to do.
This is exactly why we see the political development we see within the far right right now, where in actuality a fairly small group of people possess an incredible amount of people over a very large group of people that follow them, because once you begin to dig into the far right rabbit hole, you see how there are actually very few new players within the social space that they share; instead they often comingle to the point the only real distinct feature between them is that they create this radicalizing pipeline until you end up at white supremacy and Nazi propaganda, but they all lead there.
It's actually quite uncanny because there's no comparison whatsoever with the left, and I've loosely observed portions of the authoritarian left as well, and the "worst" thing you get is something like the debacle which happened around the new Harry Potter video game that was released earlier this year. Of course, when people begin to harass others online and send death threats that's just as bad as when the far right does it, but there really is no radicalizing pipeline. A lot of redtubers for example have nothing to do with each other beyond the fact that they know they probably are aware that they share the same political space.

As a leftist with a below-average capacity for emotional empathy, I disagree that feeling empathy is the core difference between us. I used to think something was wrong with me because of my low empathy, but now, I accept it as part of how my brain is wired, and it can actually be advantageous to my sense of justice, as I'm immune from the whole "one person dying is a tragedy, a million dying is a statistic" phenomenon where people care more about individual stories than numbers because they've based their sense of right on empathy, and they can't empathize with numbers. That's not to say that emotional empathy is bad; it has its place, and just like righteous anger, it can spur you to positive action, but at the end of the day, emotional empathy is just that -- emotional, and it's what you think and do that matters, not your emotions.

Same sort of ship on my end. I classify myself as an Eisenhower Republican . . . which makes me a Democrat. I always have had conservative values. I dont believe in children before marriage or dissolution of marriage " except in cases of abuse." I used to think a lot of things about fiscal policy. That got turned on its head once I got older and actually got into a high school civics class. It just didn't make sense to allow certain hardliners when it COSTS MORE to simply be cruel and apathetic. It costs more to have children or support them "writ large, not just government, but also the community that should be supporting them." Why would I disallow abortion or contraceptives for others, my personal freedom isn't being infringed? How can it be conservative fiscally speaking if my own personal beliefs costs EVERYONE more money and actually creates suffering. I abandoned the party in highschool because of getting a decent education, no surprise there . . . though this happened in the Midwest, which is the real surprise. Urban vs Rural
There was a huge bubble living inside the more progressive cities, which have to handle large numbers of people and problems that the rural communities cant/wont tackle so they simply become triggers that create another bubble but one filled with anger because TIME is moving on but they arent.

As someone who is college educated and had to grow as a person the older I became. Watching this video just reminds me of the insane stuff I heard as a child growing up in rural Appalachia and accepted as truth. Still hear this type of rhetoric to this day and almost everyday. I do in a way empathize with these people but become so frustrated when their concerns are pointed in the wrong direction and no amount of debate will help.
But there is another side of me who does not have any empathy for them because if I can grow as a person, so can you. Going off to college and being around different people helped that. Allowing me to challenge my own ignorance. With that being said, being willfully ignorant is not an excuse and I would argue it is not an ignorance anymore but a foolish stubbornness.
Anyway, I could go on and on about my experiences but I feel like a therapist should listen to it. Not the comment section on a UA-cam video.

The lack of empathy can contribute to the cycle too. Why did you not do your homework? " I didn't want to do it, but I still feel shame and am trying to save face with you." The proper response is not necessarily to allow them to slide and do it late or to just fail them. Each student might have had variables that necessitated a response. If the student is normally good, that means their home life was suddenly far more difficult and you should support them. If they are normally bad and always indifferent but have a new face that day trying to do right, that is a wake up call moment to transition them into being good little persons over time. If it is just manipulation they can pound sand, mommy and daddy will call administration at the end of the year and just change the grade anyway.

That angry old man said he would “prosecute” IRS agents “posthumously” clearly meant that he was going to shoot them. His mention of maritime law kinda sounds like he might be one of those sovereign citizens, and if that’s true I’d bet he doesn’t pay a dime in taxes and that’s why he’s concerned about the IRS showing up as his door. I’ve seen those idiots publicly claim their “right as a taxpayer” as the reason for why they should be treated a certain way, meanwhile they secretly haven’t paid taxes in years or cheat so badly on them, that they’re eventually caught by the IRS and forced to pay. I’m betting this guy is in that camp, based on how concerned he is about them coming to visit, he’s probably on a payment plan and is probably not paying as much as he should.

I think Leeja was maybe giving them the benefit of the doubt, bless her lol
What I don't understand is why would they unlawfully enter his house if anything they seize can't be kept because they went in unlawfully? Like the court wouldn't allow them to illegally/unlawfully seize any of his assets, I'm no lawyer but I'm pretty sure the IRS would be forced to return his assets and would need to lawfully go about trying to collect any taxes he owes. So it doesn't even make sense, it would be a waste of resources and energy for them to unlawfully seize his assets

Any tax increases on the ultra-rich are seen as an assault on their freedoms, even when they'll never be in the same room, much less the same tax bracket, as the ultra-rich. They will therefore vote against anything that will hurt their gold encrusted puppeteers for fear those policies may one day hurt them too.
The ultra-rich are their role models that have accessed the American Dream, but they don't realize that "The Dream" is dead and unattainable--and hasn't been for 50 years--because those they worship have obliterated the government programs that made "The Dream" possible in the first place. Meanwhile, they're on Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, and/or social security, going to public schools and public hospitals, or are insured through Obamacare (that they know as the ACA but don't tell them that), voting against any efforts to support these programs and screaming at the " soyboy lefttard communists" about their "big government entitlement programs," college degrees, and something about bootstraps... All while idolizing and throwing their money towards a moronic half-wit, silver-spooned, narcissistic, fear-mongering, corrupt, thieving, pompous ultra-rich wannabe mob boss dictator they have nothing in common with except that he spouts the exact brand of hateful bullshit they want to hear that reinforces their biases and confirms their bigotry. So, their anger is likely fear and confusion regarding the societal changes around them.
I’ve seen other videos where the presenter just mocks people and I don’t think that approach works to positively change anything. It just makes the target angry and it cements their ideas/feelings.
Thank you for approaching the topic with intelligence and empathy. I look forward to watching your other videos. You definitely got another subscriber here! 😺

The second amendment is pretty clear to me. It frames the right to bear arms within a well regulated militia. In modern times it basically means that the only place where gun ownership cannot be infringed is for citizens in the state sponsored militias - State Police (CHP. NOT local/city police) and National Guards - both of whom answer to State Governors. For everybody else... they can and should be be outright banned.

for me the empathy for these folks are lacking. they don’t only harbor fear about the direction of the country, they’re in fear that the country is gonna go farther left and give other folks equity. i don’t understand giving these folks the benefit of the doubt. there’s access to the right information they simply don’t want it. you can only do so much educating.

Yeah. It's like, I can agree that they've been lied to, manipulated, and make their choices out of fear, but they are also DANGEROUS. I can only feel so sorry for something as it simultaneously causes harm to others...
Agreeing on a problem is not enough for me to give any leeway to the right, because their "solutions" never align with the ones proposed by the left. The right's are always cruel.

Agreed. They want to be ignorant 🙄. It seems like things is either their way or they throw tantrums. My empathy has run dry w/ these ppl.

It’s easier for many people to empathize with these folks when they also happen to look just like them, probably have relatives like them, and have no real reason to fear them, if you know what I mean…
