Pro Skimboarders Attempt Hawaii's Most Treacherous Shorebreak.

- Keiki Beach is the heaviest shorebreak I have experienced. Located on the North Shore of Hawaii this beach has an extremely deep drop off and is extremely exposed to swell. If you happen to be in Hawaii on a day where a large North swell is building, I would recommend keeping a very safe distance from this shoreline. You will likely spectate the largest waves you have seen explode with thunderous energy right on the shore of the beach. Throw in some rocky coral heads where the waves are crashing, and you have a recipe for the most dangerous shorebreak in the world. Garrett Abdulla, Blair Conklin, and Max Bourne attempt to skim the infamous shorebreak know as Keiki's . If you know if the famous water photographer Clark Little, then you have likely seen photographs of this wave many of times before.
This is def a new favorite.
I'm 70 yrs old and have watched y'all for a few years now.

Squeezed out every ounce of fun out of each wave and made it look easy... Much respect.
Trying to surf Keiki is insane. Amazed you guys could do it for the seconds you do. But, still, you're crazy.
And I'm a guy who took off deep, behind the boils, at Pipeline and even paddled out to surf the 3rd reef at Pipe (mostly unsuccessfully because too hard to line up and you'd get caught inside eventually).
The camera work on this video was killer.

Man!!! It sucks up so gnarly...looks like your riding on just 2" of water in a head high barrel. Then you add a generous dash of reef...MAN! I left a couple chunks of board on those reefs (mostly on the South shore) my last visit....ty for sharing

This is a small day on the north shore nobody even out, but still amazing!!! I think Waimea shore break is crazy and make able on a big day. Much bigger than this 🤪 Love the video.

Man. I remember going to Makena beach with my dad and Uncle at about 8 AM in ‘91 as a 12 yr old, and there were a few pros and a camera guy doing a shoot for a magazine. That was 33 years ago and I remember it so clearly. You guys rip

I always felt (yes I felt it) Sandy’s was the most treacherous because of the high incline on the beach causing fast returning water into the swells causing that iconic break where you are halfway down the wave and then the backwash shoots you into the air with your fins touching the back of your head.

I used to do this as a kid, not nearly at this level but skim boarding was my favorite water sport and I was decent at it, until I broke my big toe and ripped the nail off, coming down off a wave once the board started to settle took my foot off then the swell moved it again before sucking it down on my foot 😂

I would say the most treacherous shore break on Oahu would be Waimea in the winter!

you should check out bahia de salahua in Manzanillo, Colima. Mexico… you could put a VW Beetle inside that tube and it breaks like 5ft off the sand.
