Spray your bag thoroughly with the water protector they use for fabric boots. I do it once a year to my bags and umbrellas, or when I get them new. It helps a lot against soaking problem.

I Like This Kit! Great Life Preserving measures! But I suspect you can trim some weight from your Job EDC. 4 x batteries of 3 different types, plus you have recharging ability, could be re-evaluated per unit/shift schedule. 4 x notepads plus assorted pens/pencils is a bit much. Your buddies gotta learn to Square away the basics. Sanitize the outside of the bag to keep OPSEC. Leave the Unliked Waist Pad in the vehicle since it's not adding value, just weight. I always suggest a sugar hit with a packet of confectionery (Lollies here in Australia. Candy in USA, Sweets in the UK) as you can get a bit of energy back or feel better if you are weakened.

I have been watching a lot of gear reviews for hiking and camping gear mostly for the past few weeks and I stared watching a few gear load outs and yours came up. Some of my stuff id decades old and I thought this would be a good way to see what new things are out there. It is nice to see someone carrying first aid gear with the them. I try and preach that people should always look at taking a first aid course before even buying a big first aid kit. Something new I found this year was Leukotape. It works as a strong bandage or tape and can immobilize limbs. I wrap some around a pill bottle or iodine bottle and it peels off and is good to go. It holds strong and works great for blisters. Not sure if you had any in your first aid kit, but I thought I'd pass on something I have recently found and that works for me. The bag you have looks pretty good to. What abouts does it weigh?
I actually just found out about leukotape recently aswell. Its great! I always have it close on hand. When i first discovered it i was wondering where it has been all my life lol
I’m also trying to get custom lenses for Foster Grant folding reading glasses. I believe they’re called Foster Grant Gideon reading glasses? They fold up and slide into a case about the size of a zippo lighter. I just need custom lenses because I don’t need readers yet.
Great video, comprehensive gear. Easy to argue too much or not enough but in the end it comes down to what you want. My only comment is the bag screams that's it's a bug out bag and you become a valuable target. I'm sure with that gear list, you're prepared to defend yourself with a CC and keep that bag. I try to use bags that don't scream tactical or stand out. Not to highlight your UA-cam competitors, but there is a channel GreyBeardGreenBeret and he packs a GOBag in one of 5.11's CC bags that is colored and designed to blend in. Of course, his goal is to use his bag to get him out of a situation back to either his vehicle, home, or other location where he has a larger stock pile of gear.
I like the long handled spoon. I’ve had MREs that didn’t come with a spoon. I happened to take note from one of the other guys in my unit who was a gear junkie. He had a spare MRE spoon interwoven into the webbing of his ruck. So I just happened to do the same the day before I came across that MRE without the spoon. Also I’m looking into getting a simple 9V flashlight. It’s a type of light that is half the height of a 9V battery. It attaches to the terminals of the battery and is very simple. There’s a whole host of manufacturers of these lights. Some have red/white and/or strobe. Some have low and high brightness settings. The one I just bought off Amazon has low and high brightness and has a magnet to hang from places. Only thing I could use is a diffuser. I got the 9V light because of being in an urban environment, it’s an almost forgotten thing but smoke and CO detectors use 9Vs. So in a grid down situation. You might be able to scavenge batteries from everyday things. 9V batteries are becoming rare anymore. But I decided to include it in my kit because of how ubiquitous they are. I haven’t decided if I’ll carry a dedicated 9V. Maybe an e2 lithium. You should look into P&G purifier of water powder. A lot goes a long way. It works as a coagulant and causes the suspended particles to settle to the bottom. It also chemically treats the water. So murky water is made clear and clean. There’s also something from Rothco called Chlor-floc that does a lot of the same thing. It isn’t quite as potent I don’t think.
Am i misunderstanding the every day carry? There is a huge bag when I see every video about EDC recently. I don't got it! For me, edc should be lighting and portable, such as my tiny Gerber multitool.
Well organized and thought out. I don't care for the two 1/4 zip on one side but overall a nice bag and it works for you. I do like the top compartment on this bag better than the 5.11 RUSH 12/24 bags that I have/carry. Thanks for sharing.
@@PreparedAirman See other people are echoing exactly what we're telling you we're not criticizing you man we know that you lay your life on the line every single day for the United States if you're a law enforcement officer and all that we truly respect you we're trying to help you build a systematic EDC bag that's going to save your life not just be a collection of non related items in a backpack. Trust us we truly want you to succeed if we were trying to topple you over we would just tell you that you did a great video but when we're purposely telling you he man these items in this bag are unrelated and they do not form any kind of emission related system then believe it you know we're here to back you up. We're just trying to help you that's all our goal is we're not trying to put you down we're just simply trying to help you out
@@patrioticamerican8355 While we're on the subject of "not trying to put you down" and "just simply trying to help you out", might I suggest learning some new pronunciation and punctuation marks. Reading your comment was more painful than me trying to justify throwing a measuring tape into my EDC bag.
Nice. My own EDC bag is black nondescript and weighs 14lbs fully-loaded without being 'bloated'. Remember folks, EDC is THREE letters for a reason. It's primarily your "I might need this stuff if I'm away" (bag) but ALSO "It will carry me through for THREE days (max)" bag. Please don't fall into the trap of your EDC bag becoming your 'BOB-lite'.
Nice set up but I would also include emergency shelter and bivey along with a designated fire kit and also a few ranger rolls of cloths in 2 gallon zip lock bags or white tall kitchen garbage bags for dry cloths just in case. It helps along with dehydrated food like mountain house or any other brand and along with a small mess kit and folding wood stove or alchahol stove to cook with and boil water.
Great video: But I would have other ways to purify water. (Life straw) and maybe candy bar or something to give you energy. I would also have another way to start a fire. (ferroceim rod). You should have a nice fixed blade, plus a knife sharpener. I didn't see a sewing kit. Small fishing kit. Snare wire. Space blanket. Socks, underwear, soap and shampoo, washcloth, you need toiletries. Redundancy is key to a point. Remember if SHTF you want to have as much as you can in that space, and hygiene is going to be so important. Tooth paste and dental floss. I would cut back on note pads and put these items in. Just some suggestions. I have more but this is enough for now.
Need 50’ of 3/16 “paracord & survival blanket, since my hands are pretty much trashed as far as writing, I would dc all writing pens but 2, ink & pencil, 1 writing tab, 1-1st aid kit, 3 MRE’s, etc everyone’s got their own preference, I would add some beef jerky & trail mix bars. Good bag! Shalom!
@@PreparedAirman fair enough, I still think it makes you a target for theft, terrorist attacks, jerks etc. Greyman is an everyday lifestyle in my books.
Yeah i thought that too. I don't get the who patch thing. Ive seen guys with tons of them. Im guessing one guy had like 20. In my job if i encounter someone with patches i give them special attention because almost all of them are armed and think theyre tacticool
The wife really likes it if I carry hand warmers... and EDC body armor, of course. I've carried it for about a year now, Haven't used any of it, so I just carried it for the last year. :)
Yeah some of us carry a bag with similar contents every day. I keep one in my truck that’s almost identical to his with a couple of exceptions. I carry more of the flex cuffs with me than he does. And this bag is rather different from my true Bug out Bag which is the one I keep handy in case I have to just walk away. Also, my edc bag is different in how it’s carried. Mine can be carried over one shoulder or cross body so I can carry it while also carrying my full backpack (BoB). That way my edc compliments my BoB and I don’t have to duplicate anything. Think of it as a modular system. So you might want to rethink how you are organised. Cheers mate and happy trails
Some hidden emergency cash is handy too. Overall a great video, very easy to follow without lots of distraction or time wasting. Quality content. Some handy ideas, thanks for sharing :)
Agree; hidden cash in small bills is a great asset. Note the term "small bills.' In emergencies shopkeepers/cashiers may not be able/willing to make change. If you need a roll of toilet paper and only have a $50 bill, you have a choice to make.
Forgot to add on my last comment the need for an alcohol stove like Trangia type stove, I don’t particularly like Trangia but they have a total system, ie alcohol bottle carrier( totally leakproof) stove, tea kettle, 3 pans & handle& wind screen which doubles as a pot rack, the best & cheapest fuel is Heet in the Yellow bottle, during fuel test it was the winner on water boil time which is generally 8-9 min., heet won at a little over 8mins boil time against 91% alcohol, denatured alcohol, Red bottle Heet, & 70% alcohol. Good luck!
Hey, nice video man! I have one basic question about the bag, whats the total weight of the staff in the bag and how is the bag feels to carry for a long time in your back? Thanks!
I honestly haven't weighted it lol. probably 15 to 20 lbs. Im a regular backpacker so its not bad. ive done 10 mile hikes with it no issue. But i prefer Kelty or Eberlystock bags for hiking.
@@PreparedAirman Thanks for the fast response mate! I'm thinking to buy the new one (vol3) and use it for traveling to,is it possible to use it as a carry on bag or is to small?
You could use it for that but i would say its slightly small for a carry on. but you could do it if you were picky on what you take. I have done it befor but i had other check in bags.
People can say what they want but my edc is similar to that but that's cause if you think about it it's a good idea cause if your out somewhere and shit hits the fan at least you know your prepared and have enough supplies to get back home or to wherever you need to be
Well, you carry as much stuff as my mother does in her purse! 😂! Just kidding! She does lug a lot of stuff around but not quite the same quality of content 😉 Next time I go on a hunting trip or camping trip I'm putting you on the guest list!

I really like that bag may look it up. But you got some good stuff in there and for the tape ruler yea I got one in mine but may be shorter been looking for a 5ft one but great vidoe. Have a good week god bless
Great bag, now i need to get myself a measuring tape for my man purse! How do you feel about map and compass? I recently added a map of my local area and have a simple compass. If i have to walk home from the city its either 6 hours over a mountain, 3 hours trough a train tunnel or a looong walk along the roadside. Thanks for sharing.
I guess it depens on the situation then, If you have both in your car and the car is near. Here its not really an option to take the car to the city on a daily basis, just to costly. Wish i could bring along a proper Get home bag but not sure how well that will look in an university setting hehe!
@@ThePreparedNorseman You are absolutely correct. Not every bag is the same different people, different situations mean different bag setups. You should make a video yourself and share your setup.

I saw this video before the other one on your GHB and Hill People Chest Rig, but had trouble signing in, so I came back to give you a "like". The bag does offer a lot organizational options. I agree that it would be nice if the zippers opened all the way around, but otherwise it is a nice backpack. I like your medications for bug bites and poison ivy. Living in Florida, bug nets and bug repelling products are often necessary.

If anyone’s curious, the bag is seemingly discontinued. The closest thing is the Trident (now 32 [Gen 3]). Vanquest.com doesn’t have a Triton listed, but the Trident-32’s basically the same with the only difference being the capacity (1 liter bigger currently) and the MOLLE. I have its little brother/predecessor, the Trident 20 (Gen 2). The 32 (Gen-3) is priced at $260.
If his electronic ear pro go dead. They still work. They just don’t enhance sound below a certain Volume. When they die they’re just mute at all times sooo yea. 🤷🏻♂️ having back up is definitely not bad. Just thought that comment was odd
Great kit, i guess the only thing i would add would be a dedicated waterproof bag cover. I know you have the bin liners. But the backpack cover would hardly weigh anything and will be very small.
Redundancy is nice. But I really don’t see why you need a tire pressure gauge in there for your car. If your cars sensors are broken, just leave the tire pressure gauge in your car. What if, in the off chance, you leave your EDC backpack somewhere or forget it, or worse, it gets stolen. Unless you keep it as a redundancy for the one you may already have in your car, I see no reason to carry it around. I would just keep the redundant tire pressure gauge in the car as well. This is more of a get home bag or a semi bug out bag imo. Water purification tablets? Water bags, for EDC use? And you have a water bottle. Chem sticks. This is all a little much for EDC use, let’s be real. But I do like how you add zip ties to your set up. I’ve used zip ties numerous times in very clutch situations. People ask me why I have them, and it’s like, you’ll see why eventually.
Spray your bag thoroughly with the water protector they use for fabric boots. I do it once a year to my bags and umbrellas, or when I get them new. It helps a lot against soaking problem.

So murky water is made clear and clean. There’s also something from Rothco called Chlor-floc that does a lot of the same thing. It isn’t quite as potent I don’t think.
Yeah zip ties... just in case you kidnap someone on the way home.... combine that with the duct tape and the kidnaped person will not scream 🤣🤣🤣
Am i misunderstanding the every day carry? There is a huge bag when I see every video about EDC recently. I don't got it! For me, edc should be lighting and portable, such as my tiny Gerber multitool.
EDC varies person to person everyone has a different EDC there is no set standard.
Well organized and thought out. I don't care for the two 1/4 zip on one side but overall a nice bag and it works for you. I do like the top compartment on this bag better than the 5.11 RUSH 12/24 bags that I have/carry. Thanks for sharing.
Question is, what is your life style that requires all these things so that you may feel comfortable leaving the house?
mainly small watercraft and law enforcement. Once i go out on the water i cant just go to convince store on the ocean.. so i pack alot in.
@@PreparedAirman
See other people are echoing exactly what we're telling you we're not criticizing you man we know that you lay your life on the line every single day for the United States if you're a law enforcement officer and all that we truly respect you we're trying to help you build a systematic EDC bag that's going to save your life not just be a collection of non related items in a backpack.
Trust us we truly want you to succeed if we were trying to topple you over we would just tell you that you did a great video but when we're purposely telling you he man these items in this bag are unrelated and they do not form any kind of emission related system then believe it you know we're here to back you up.
We're just trying to help you that's all our goal is we're not trying to put you down we're just simply trying to help you out
@@PreparedAirman oh that makes much more sense. Thanks for sharing this and your tips and knowledge as well
@@patrioticamerican8355
While we're on the subject of "not trying to put you down" and "just simply trying to help you out", might I suggest learning some new pronunciation and punctuation marks.
Just trying to keep it light, but i do have all that stuff in my GHB which is always in my vehicle. ua-cam.com/video/C-F-LPb875Y/v-deo.html
That overly agressive unzipping of the bag😂
Good bag! Shalom!
Cc oils you tell us what each item is. Great description. But if we want to get one or some, we don't have the name or where you got them
The first thing I notice (less than a minute in)...it looks obvious. That bag makes you a target. It needs to be more "greyman".
I never wanted it to be greyman. Its a edc bag in normal life not a GHB or a BOB in shtf.
Have you thought about adding a camera or gopro to record incident / events?
like your kit what is the weight of every day carry bag so one can calculate how much tactical gear we can add to kit.
Id fill that extra space with a good emergency blanket and throw a few carbs in
What's with the wire tie on your knife?
HOLY FACK!! that's your everyday bag? Not your "make it through the month" bag? 🤣
Definitely not edc more like get home or bug out bag.
LOL. I love this comment!
My thoughts excatly , that's way way to much stuff for and edc bag.
i think this is for my carry on bag when I travel for a month oversea
You should definitely add a poncho to your pack, they always come in handy.
For the wilderness, also consider: Compass, wire saw, fixed blade bush knife, tinder, sewing kit, fish line and hooks, bear spray, a Buff.
@@DanielNighteyes well said :)
In shtf. Your paper money would be worthless.
@@PreparedAirman Thanks again mate have a nice day!
I love that bag i wonder about a grey man color type but. Absolutely love this bag.
Yes. I also have a Vanquest Triton 20 in grey
Dam it now I have to put all the shit back in the bag lol great kit thanks for sharing!
Do you use the Gorilla brand duct tape?????
People can say what they want but my edc is similar to that but that's cause if you think about it it's a good idea cause if your out somewhere and shit hits the fan at least you know your prepared and have enough supplies to get back home or to wherever you need to be
Well, you carry as much stuff as my mother does in her purse! 😂! Just kidding! She does lug a lot of stuff around but not quite the same quality of content 😉 Next time I go on a hunting trip or camping trip I'm putting you on the guest list!
how can i get a list of whats in the bag, including bag p/n and where you got it? brand name?
I added a list brief list of my items to the description below.
PreparedAirman but I do t see any list
@@davefairbrother8924 If you are viewing on a mobile device there is a drop down arrow above the subscribe button for the video. Hit that and scroll down you will see a contents list of all items. :)
This is an EDC bag or an On The Run bag? This is nuts
Which wire do you prefer for a swedish log plz ?
More stuff than I would carry, BUT this is your bag. I think you said it more than once that some of the stuff you carry is for your job. So, to each his own.
I like it. But what happens if you have no food?
No food is necessary for my EDC bag. i always carry my GHB in my vehicle for that purpose. ua-cam.com/video/C-F-LPb875Y/v-deo.html
A clam shell type bag for the main compartment is better. Most SAR teams use that.
That was pretty impressive. Nothing else to say.
I’ve carried the little brother Trident 20 for years. What is the brand name of the poison ivy relief product?
Great video. One thing maybe, I would remove all exterior badges. It’s a little to high profile. Thank you.
Thank you. I might have to add that. I have one in the Get home bag but not the EDC bag yet.
Will look into it, my gopro is not very healthy these days but maybe I can give it a go :p
@@PreparedAirman Did a quick overview of my bags contents (also one of my pocket lint in a separate video), just to share whats in there. Will see if I can make something more in dept at some later point.

How sweet, a heart shaped CPR's kids.
Very impressive and well thought out!
I like the bag but I don’t like how they made it to how it opens more on one side than the other but nice setup
Warrior poet society!!! Hell yeah
Where did you get you're backpack and price
It's a Vanquest trident 31 Gen 1 at the time it was $200. I think they are on their gen 3 model and they cost around $250
Great video! Love that TNP angry owl morale patch...
Dimitris Palavidis - yep and I love that John Lovell Warrior Poet patch too!
What is the brand and make of your bag
Vanquest Triton 31
Would love to know where you got the backpack and if there are any more that have been made.

Three Things I Like Is My Black Military Assault Backpack, Black Military Drop Leg Pack, And Black Military Water Bottle Strap Shoulder Pouch With Survival Kits, Survival Gear, Survival Food, Survival Water, And Survival Medicine.
Living in Florida, bug nets and bug repelling products are often necessary.
thank you! 😀
Nice video, thank for sharing. That’s a lot of stuff for an EDC.
I very like your EDC bag,so great!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing what you have/ use in your bag! Ignore the negative comments. It's YOUR bag, what YOU use. It's NOT their bag. They aren't going to use it. You know what is best for you.You gained a new subscriber.
awesome video, great content , cool bag and a warrior poet patch.. subscribed!
Great video, won't be getting the wedding bands tho..
If his electronic ear pro go dead. They still work. They just don’t enhance sound below a certain Volume. When they die they’re just mute at all times sooo yea. 🤷🏻♂️ having back up is definitely not bad. Just thought that comment was odd
While filming you sometimes say stupid things lol
If the apocalypse happened tomorrow this dude would be set for about a year 😆
Great kit, i guess the only thing i would add would be a dedicated waterproof bag cover.
