What I don't get is why aren't they including such a simple thing as selecting a map, a side, and playing solo with bots WITHOUT specific mission aside from, you know, winning the battle?.. It's not an impossible task if they already have an AI in place.

RuddsReels Everytime when asked about this particular feature, the developers redirect us to "missions" mode, and then add: "Well, it's not exactly what you're describing, it's different, but it's offline." Which means that the usual, simple offline multiplayer is probably not there.
Inspector Javert -What i really find that grinds my gears is if they take away what made these games good and then add stuff that isnt so good..Like for example with the bots..In the older games you could have up to 3 men follow you..But in PS2 there was a great and amazing game called Freedom Fighters.. You could have up to 16 men follow you and not only that you could command them to stay put in specific locations like gunners and what not..or follow you ofcourse but also command them to go out and scout the area...THAT WAS ON PS2 now its 15 years later and they cant figure out how they did it? common. these companies PS and Xbox have no real understanding on how to just stay with what they got and keep adding rather than starting from scratch...its getting old..and i think it because they know they can get away with it..Because people are stupid and gulable..Give them graphics all day long and they are like dogs with shinny toys..plus they market to new generations which is a terrible idea..if they marketed only to the original 80,90's generation than imgine the world of games we would have..But because they market to the new generations they make new games with old traits seem like its a new thing.when in fact its old and repetitive..Dont get me on Mortal Kombat.. the same fighting crap since Sega genises and yet on PS2 they had the best game ever Shoalin Monks. and that was the best game Mortal Kombat ever made.and all because it was open world (almost) ...PEOPLE SUCK!

infamousian123 What the fuck are you on about, you bloody idiot? Ever heard of a little game called Watch Dogs? Seemed really cool and nice until the game was actually released and performed awful on any graphic settings and turned out to have a completely generic and awful plot. Or of another little game, Battlefield 4? Released with a ton of bugs, it kept crashing, performance was awful until they patched it, and even now the netcode is horrible.
Both games had awesome gameplay trailers, but the thing about multiplayer gameplay trailers (and literally unrepresentative single-player trailers *cough* Watch Dogs *couch*) is they are 100% scripted and an awful representation of the actual game. Unfortunately you can't do anything about it because it is, technically, gameplay. So shut your fucking mouth until you get your hands on the game, because this hype is getting ridiculous, and this is coming from someone really hoping SW:Battlefront turns out to be good, and someone who's played tons of the first two games and loves Star Wars.
When you actually play the game, say anything you like, you have the right to, but what you're saying right now is silly, and completely unbased. Please, reserve your hype to yourself. There have already been too many pre-order fiascos.
Way too early to say that yet that's why I'm not going to pre order but true it looks cool lets just hope it wont be fucked up on launch.

I love the graphics and gameplay, I only wish they incorporated more elements of Battlefront 2 into this game. Galactic Conquest, different eras, space battles, and more planets, namely. Even without those, however, it seems like a decently fun game.

It was my last survival mission before I got the Platinum on PS4, and I had no friends to help me. I still have Vietnam Flashbacks with the Shadow troopers and the AT-ST

I hope they add imperial co-op missions and the like where you have to snuff out the life of an entire rebel garrison. Or perhaps escape a rebel ambush and make it to a Imperial dropship before they glass the surface.

I really hope you'll be able to play survival as the empire. It'll be a nice change of things playing the stormtroopers getting surrounded by overwhelming waves of rebels.

I'm really hoping to see an Instant Action type of game mode for online, co-op, and single player. I'm talking about the big open maps with the ability to capture enemy bases/spawn points. Hopefully single player and co-op aren't limited to smaller stuff like this.

Here they say there are several mission types. And if I remember well they said at the sony press conference that there will be a player vs player mode where they are supported by AI. Thats as close as you can get to instant action/

I know this isn't a sequel, and they wanted to put their own style to it, but so far their "style" is a stripped down Battlefield reskin that removes almost everything that made the old Battlefronts great. As for the single player being these Missions rather than Instant Action, I don't want some lame horde mode, I can go to plenty of other shooters for that.
ZZMonkeysUncleZZ Agreed. They stripped it down. Now it has no clone wars, no space battles, no galactic conquest, no instant action, no classes and no bots/ai online or singelplayer. Also there is only 20vs20 player battles and only 4 planets at launch.

This is EA with the Star Wars license for 10 years. They're going to milk this for more than its worth.

So if they have three twenty buck expansion packs and the full price game means $120 per player, if the base game is good enough, people will want more. Their current strategy is terribly unethical.

john Mars Yeah, having un-trained and badly armored soldiers was an excellent idea. Good job Emperor. I know they had a low budget, but giving 'hardly' trained soldiers a weapon which you can hardly aim with, than putting an uncomfortable and suffocating helmet on them.. is just a dick move. The elit had a very fast firing or flak gun with a much stronger armor. Didn't even mention the swamp troopers. What a bad, someone fucked up economy and had no money fo dat.

Károly Németh Well the scout troopers are always accurate along with most of their specialized classes. The empire focuses on numbers with their main infintary and on skill with their elite forces. All you need to kill most rebels is to spam armed soldiers at them.
How do you actually fire? Because the R1 button is taken by the Jetpack. So do you fire with the R2 button?

CheeseMan DICE is using the same engine for all of its games, Frostbite Engine www.frostbite.com/ , and yes, they reused a lot of game logic/parts from Battlefield, because its convenient and can cash-in really quickly :)

The armour on an AT-ST is not that good anyway. If a blaster can get through it and somehow explode its ammunition or kill the guys inside then imagine what a rocket launcher could do.
LordDarthHarry Not in the first Battlefront but in Battlefront 2 it did a little bit damage, if you fired it enough then eventually you could destroy any vehicle with a blaster.

Tactical Scout The only thing I found intrusive is whatever those cards in the bottom right are. Other than that it's a small minimap, no ammo counter, and a small killfeed. It looks pretty sleek to me!
Dr Lemon PhD Ammo counter is not needed sicne the weapons function on an overheat mechanic rather than ammo aparently.
As for the cards, those show all your gear/abilities. along with what button you need to press to activate them. its quite obvious when you think about it.

Why exactly 144fps? Lol. But all this gameplay is on ps4 , you can see on the bottom right that it shows Playstation buttons.

I have a question (someone reply if you know); Are you able to control your own character? Or do they have an AI setup like the enemy? I know the controls aren't the whole game but I would recommend buying a game where I could choose where I move, where I jump, and when I take my gun out. Dead space was a good game because of the story, but that's it. I might like the game without being able to have full control, but I wouldn't play it that often.

1/100 comments are hating, and almost every hate comments are troll or say that it is cod.
True no clone wars, but the campaign would literally be the movies. There are still offline missions all split screen co-op and a survival mode which can be played offline. Dont really see what the fuss is. yeh no clone wars kinda sucks but they will most likely make a sequel.
I love how 80% of the people were hating on the game after the star wars celebration trailer came out and now they say how it is epic and all that. When the 20% was telling them to wait for gameplay they didn't listen so they still have to hate to dont look like idiots.

That graphics look gorgeous. I has one of , if not the best, graphics in all Star Wars games.
But the HUD is too ascetic. It's hard to keep track of team status and health.

Brandon Villanueva EA DICE says there won't be any prequel content "in this release". Some people expect Clone Wars DLC, some people think there won't be anything prequel-related, some think they might just do a sequel game with Clone Wars (likely scenario). We don't know, unfortunately. However, there will be a "Battle of Jakku" DLC in December, which basically leads up to SW7 and the new sequel trilogy.
