Your lucky you have a pond near your house that is that big. I have a little tiny pond by my house that is maybe 70 feet long and 20 feet wide😂. My biggest out of there was a pound and a half. I subscribed great videos!
that's annoying! I once had a whopper plopper 90 do that and I never did figure out why. After it was doing this, I didn't use it for a few days, but the next time I tied it on it worked fine. Not sure why this happened and I didn't do anything to fix it. At the time the whole body was spinning, I did think of tying on a barrel swivel before the whopper plopper to see if that would fix it.
Were you using a weed less wacky hook? If so what brand is it. I'm trying to find a decent one for my spinning set up with a lighter wire hook. How do you like using braid for top water?
I can't remember if I was using a weedless one or not in this video, but I do use the weedless ones quite often. VMC weedless wacky hooks are the ones I use most often. I love braid for top water! Actually, every single one of my bass reels are spooled up with braid, even my spinning reel. On my spinning reel I do tie on a 6 - 10lb leader using an FG knot. On my casting reels, I rarely tie on a leader and usually will just go straight braid. Hope this helps!
Thanks and glad to help! I don't use crankbaits much, but when I do I tie on a 10-12lb leader. I hope to get out fishing next week. I'm getting my gear ready and got some new items to put on the yak, but I'm gonna try and get a video or two out sometime next week.
They are great! I got 2 of them when they were on sale early this spring and haven't had any issues with them. They are just like the Lew's tournament pro rods, same grips and everything, so I think Lew's makes them for Cabelas. I've got the 6'9 jerkbait/topwater rod and the 7'1 swimbait/ swim jig rod.
Usually the topwater bite doesn't really start going until the water temps are over 50 and it really kicks into action when the temps get over 60. So I would say early April through the end of Summer the whopper plopper will catch you some nice bass!
Ik you haven’t been answering a lot of the questions for where this pond is at. But I would like to know where this pond is at so I can do some fishing around spawning season in this upcoming year. I would appreciate it if you could respond back to me please n thank you.
senkos are a must when pond fishing
I never head to the pond w/out my senkos...actually, I don't think I go anywhere fishing w/out them!
Bank and Paddle Fishing lol yep! I catch em' on lakes too with senkos.
I like the pond videos. That is what I do a lot of on my channel.
I wish there were more ponds around my area!

All that you do helps and it's appreciated. Do you use braid when your cranking? Going fishing anytime soon?

Look forward to the vids. Hope to see ya out there. Tight lines!
