The second method is what i do. I want a free swinging hook so i get better action when bumping my lure into rocks or logs and if the fish hits the lure from the side or underneath they still get hooked.

I got the Flambeau outdoors r50bp backpack instead. It comes with 4 5700 tufftainers, but you can actually stack about 6 4700 tufftainers inside the main compartment. These are much easier than lugging around bulky tackle boxes.
