There's a Fundamentalist incantation that teleports you a decent distance forward, based on how fast you're moving. Managed to speedrun Ordina with it, and then naturally killed myself 20-ish times making my way down the Haligtree with it too. 10/10 mod.
I appreciate that games don't hve to change in order to match ideas brought forward by mods, but I'd love to see FromSoft's take on Convergence as a new game mode, perhaps one you unlock after you beat the game. Replay value through builds is very much a thing in vanilla ER, but it can be a slog to replay the game back to back with new characters. Convergence greatly improves replay value by diversifying starting locations and each class having different paths to improve their gear and skills. The remixed maps are a nice little touch as well. Still, FromSoft might be able to polish things up in a way modders can't, so an official Convergence mode could be a game changer fro ER's longevity. Not that Dark Souls needed something like this, but because Elden Ring is so vast and non-linear, multiple playthroughs can be quite the chore when you always start at the same place and might have to go through the game in a very similar fashion to your first playthrough in order to progress smoothly.
This mod and reforged have me contemplating rebuying the game on pc. I only just bought it on PS when SOTE came out, so not sure if im ready to drop the $$ again but these mods really change the game play.
Yeah you definitely become a god very quickly. I do think that the lightning beacon is s special case and is down right busted especially vs large bosses
I have not played the ER version of convergence, but the DS3 version was very much the same, so I don't think they care too terribly much about balance, or preserving the narrative integrity of elden ring. Its really about getting up to speed fast, being OP, and adding quantity, variety, and new types of organization to the interaction between items, abilities, and spells. If you want a challenge, you have to play to a handicap because if you don't, its easy to discover super-cheese. Honestly though I don't think this is terribly different then the base game, across the dark souls franchise. Its just easier to find the cheese in convergence.
One of convergences greatest strengths becomes it's weakness easily. It adding ways to get anywhere easily effectively lets you sequence break. You can get to faram azula without setting foot in Lyndell. It takes away from the story of elden ring significantly and makes your runs feel like they have no weight. Until they add more items it also feels like you don't have to explore to get an insane build. So once you know where to go for your main weapon seal/staff and armor you can just book it to wherever.
That is all very true, but since it is a mod to the game I'd expect almost everyone who plays it to already have played the original. With that said convergence is really suitable for a NG+ way of play. In short you can play it lots of times simply following your path on a new class and end the game - to start a new with a whole new class and do the same. A strength that is not common in open world games
Loved the video bro! The ashes of war and spells looks insane! Not having finished the game myself it's also cool to see all the different bosses. Keep them coming >^^
Have not played DarkMoon as of yet but both Convergence and Reforged deliver in very different ways. Enjoyed both of them a lot but I think Convergence is just easier to pick up and play for a faster paced playthrough
The problem I have is that you can only see the base game for the "first time", just ONE TIME. I've got very good memory. I love what they're doing with this mod, but it's going to take new maps and worlds for me to really replay ER :(
With the (many) updates that keep on coming they have managed to make a lot of areas feel new and fresh. I'll be dropping a video covering most of these changes in the coming week
Great mod. I'd do a couple things differently like speeding up torrent by like 5% and more focus on weapons instead of spells. Spamming spells from across map loses its charm pretty quick

And maybe one day to see a mod that doesn't even include mage builds or any of that kind of magic stuff. So you have to get up in front of the boss. That would be really cool
At the point of which this video was made Convergence did not offer much at all for melee builds - this has changed with the later versions as they introduce way more weapons and bonuses for melee focused builds specifically. Yeah so what I played is the alpha test version, which is the one that is availible to pick up and play, left the dl link in the description. Hope that clears it up!
I only ask because I am unable to download the mod currently, how are the Dragon Communion spells? The kind where you summon a dragon head and deal breath damage? No one online really talks about them and I am hyperfixated on the communion spells to see how/if they've been changed.
I don't think those spells have been changed at all tbh, perhaps the requirements. They do ofc benefit from the various bonuses & buffs you can apply from gear and spells etc.
You sure you’re talking about Convergence mod? I know Reforged mod has that as a feature - and many other advanced combat techniques for that matter - but I don’t think Convergence has it
Sure, it's got awesome spells, but the game is still mostly vanilla, so its hard to go through the game again and not get bored from fighting the same bosses. Elden Ring has no reply value to me like Dark Souls 3 did.
The only issue regarding quests that I've encountered is finding Yura outside of Raya Lucaria, but this only happened to me once. So I do not think so :>
What are the PC requirements for this? Just the same as to run Elden Ring well or is anything else particularly important to help the game run with the mod?
One thing I'm a bit unclear on, does the convergence mod completely replace base elden ring, or does it let you choose which version you start up? On the mod page it talks about backing up saves for each before playing the other, leading to my confusion.
Well, it's like this. All mods afaik, convergence included, comes with its own file that boots it up. However, only the save that is in the actual main folder for your original Elden Ring is the one that is used. That's why you need to make sure to have a backup for it, since it will get overwritten by your mod save. I hope that helps haha, it is a little bit of a fuzz in the beginning but you quickly get used to it
Iam still finding the smithing stone 4 bell bearing which was supposed to be in dragon stone alter but the boss didnt drop it … please reply if you did find it else where
@@JarlEra thats the third one which gives great smithing stone bell bearing but iam assuming there must be one for ancientdragon smithing stone too because we do find one for ancient dragon somber stones.. all the ashes of war can be upgraded to level 10 as well because we have unlimited supply for great grave clover
I love all the cool spells convergence adds but the path and remanent system isn't my favorite its too direct and doesn't encourage exploring all these cool new areas outside of your class. and everything is way over tuned
DS3 Convergence was pretty much a sandbox for trying out crazy builds. There was no real challenge to test your new tools on. Unless they introduce a new mode with near-Ascended level difficulty, I'm not particularly interested.
Never played the convergence for ds3 - I see it more like a NG+ run, just giving you easy tools to test something you'd like to try out to its full potential and fast. Doesn't hurt with new spells and bosses either. But to each their own
ER Reforged has a built in difficulty setting when resting at a grace. It's free! I have a video where I cover the mod but I do not go in to detail about the "easier" setting. Should hopefully be something that could suit you :)
What makes you feel that way? There is nothing quite like the base game, but Convergence makes for my personal favourite when treating it like a "NG+" run
@@JarlEra you follow a path made to you with what appears to be very little freedom. Not to mention the armour stat changes feels like it will get in the way of dressing for style and mix matching everything.. Idk I think I'm just not feeling it...

I mean... it looks really cool and all. But... it seems too over powered to me. Like, to the point there wouldn't be much challenge in the end game. Is it?
I get what you mean. What I displayed here however is the same playthrough adapting and changing to different builds - so granted I was very high lvl. If you just pick up & play your class while following your path it will feel different
Convergence is naturally easier than vanilla because of the improved gear & talismans. The way I see it Convergence is a perfect mod for anyone who wants to play a fast paced "NG+" run and also explore all of the various changes that has been made. It is also important to note that melee builds were not as exciting at the point when I made this video - but it they have received a lot of changes since then :)
I just dont like path thing. The coolest part of elden ring in my opinion is there is no one route. Everyone goes a different direction. Having a path laid out based on your class is kind of lame. I also dont really do the whole build thing. I think people who limit their level by themselves then try to shit on everyone else for being overpowered in a game where youre suppose to be a god is dumb. The spells and weapons are cool. Im always down for more bosses and remade areas. Just lose the paths and you have a supreme winner in my eyes.
I'd like to think of it of a "extreme" NG+ run. One has very likely already played through the entirety of vanilla ER before playing a mod - thus simply choosing a path to follow to try spells / weapons for that specific route makes things a lot faster. Nontheless I can't do anything but recommend trying the mod out :)
You should try a gravity build next time you play the Convergence. From what I remember the gravity spells are some of the coolest.
Funny that you mention it as I've already started a playthrough to test various sorceries like I did with incantations in this one 👀

Eeeey man don't be hating on the PS5! Jokes aside tho owning fhese kinds of games on PC sure has some advantages...
so wait, the mod isn't "fully released" yet, but you can still download? DOes that mean it's in "beta" or something? I dont understand.
Yeah so what I played is the alpha test version, which is the one that is availible to pick up and play, left the dl link in the description. Hope that clears it up!
It's in alpha at the moment. I recommend playing it it's very good and it's only gonna get better as they develop it.
I cannot wait to try this mod out! It looks incredible! Does anyone know if it works with Seamless Co op? That would be an awesome combo!
it works with seamless
@@JaverQ awesome thanks!
You totally deserve more subscribers
Thanks for the kind words, means a lot
@@JarlEra 👍
darksiders 2 soundtrack lets go
A man of culture I see
On the topic of the horse - Sigur is indoors - who rides horses indoors?
Yeah true, they forgot to put up the stables for it outside
I just found out that you can parry with your blade in this game, kinda like sekiro, so....i might install it now
Wait what? In the same version as in this video? :O
@@JarlErait’s cool
You sure you’re talking about Convergence mod?
I know Reforged mod has that as a feature - and many other advanced combat techniques for that matter - but I don’t think Convergence has it
Sure, it's got awesome spells, but the game is still mostly vanilla, so its hard to go through the game again and not get bored from fighting the same bosses. Elden Ring has no reply value to me like Dark Souls 3 did.
Interesting take. I'd agree with open world games having worse replayability though
Would starting somewhere like Liurnia mess up certain questlines?
The only issue regarding quests that I've encountered is finding Yura outside of Raya Lucaria, but this only happened to me once. So I do not think so :>
What are the PC requirements for this? Just the same as to run Elden Ring well or is anything else particularly important to help the game run with the mod?
AFAIK same as running vanilla Elden Ring. I did not notice any problems besides some cutscenes dropping frames (rykard comes to mind)
What class do you played with the lightning things? :D
That's the incantations from the Dragon Cult (runes of lightning)
im scared to lose my vanilla game save, happened with ds3 convergence
Sucks when that stuff happens. Gotta be real sure to always have backups
@@JarlEra yea i know, it really had me butt hurt when it happened lol, it also happened to me on console with ds3 💀
I hope that helps haha, it is a little bit of a fuzz in the beginning but you quickly get used to it
@@JarlEraThe current version actually makes a seperate save file :) a big improvement
does anyone know if you can use this and seemless coop together?
Yes you can :)
Iam still finding the smithing stone 4 bell bearing which was supposed to be in dragon stone alter but the boss didnt drop it … please reply if you did find it else where
Not 100% sure but isn't that one in zamor ruins in the mountaintops?
But to each their own
Yeah, it may be different for other people, but imo the challenge is what makes these games fun
Great video!!!
Hate that I can't play this mod💔
I just wish the mod didn't need steam. I have already bought the game on console and I simply cannot afford to buy it again.
Yeah I hear you :/ base game might get a big discount closing up to DLC release *pray*
Crack that gMe
@@SimplyThinking677 lmao true
You’ll never be able to play mods on console
@@chrisa6846but muh creators club bro
Please tell me the best mod to make it easy and how much does it cost?
ER Reforged has a built in difficulty setting when resting at a grace. It's free! I have a video where I cover the mod but I do not go in to detail about the "easier" setting. Should hopefully be something that could suit you :)
seems a bit restrictive compared to the base game
What makes you feel that way? There is nothing quite like the base game, but Convergence makes for my personal favourite when treating it like a "NG+" run
@@JarlEra you follow a path made to you with what appears to be very little freedom.
Not to mention the armour stat changes feels like it will get in the way of dressing for style and mix matching everything..
Idk I think I'm just not feeling it...
late to the party but love the vid man
Glad to hear it dude!
8:22 ratchet and clank original music lol?
👀
so is there any story? Or we just randomly travel and fight bosses?
The story is the same as it is in the original Elden Ring game
never played the game. bought it recently and went straight to the mods :). Installed this mod and love it but kinda not sure what im supposed to do lol. Found lansseax and she is a beauty. I will not harm her so ignoring her and running pass. Will do that to greyoll to because she is to innocent and beautiful to murder.@@JarlEra
I see, that is definetely one way to do it. Besides the opening cinematic you will find fragments of the story / lore all over the place. From interacting with NPC's, reading up on item descriptions etc. If you want a more thorough idea of what is actually going on I recommend checking out vaatividyas videos. GL out there!@@DragonProtector
thx! Ya I kinda just been exploring and found some ghost boss that i cant seem to hurt but it swipes me dead. It is up at a water looking pond near lansseax (left her alive because she is a beautiful dragon).@@JarlEra
I cant burn the erdtree, anyone help?
Anyone who comes from DS3 knows Convergence is a BIG deal. In DS3 it changed the entire game, but unlike Cinders Mod, it had consistency.
Caelid tower is the wurstttttt!
Was fun first time - besides that it's whack
damn you really like ratchet and clank music lol, cool mod
Hard to neglect the golden era of ps2 bangers
Awesome! 🤙😝🤙
Hi there,
ERR vs Convergence
What would you choose ?
Greetings
Both mods do things very well but very differently, why not both?
@@JarlEra because of the Tons of other fantastic Games..for example ultra modded Witcher 3, Cyberpunk etc.pp...and .. the Most important...real Life ;).. just time for one...but i'll choose Reforged because of the very Well Made Combat system
I wish i could play but ofcourse elden ring just updated and downgrading doesnt work for me
Oh shit, that's a bummer. Hopefully the convergence team gets on it quickly
@@JarlEra yeah i hope so
Is this still available and worth it?
@@matthewhatch263 I'd recommend playing it for sure! And yeah its available, but the mod has been patched several times since I posted this video (so it includes way more stuff)
is this mod compitable with seamless coop?
I do believe so
I really wish I could get it to work. :/
What's the issue you're having?
Think same like me.... Downloaded started with the batch file only not working wont start at all ... Second install with Metis Mod Launcher like Reforge before is starting the game but without any changes ..
I mean... it looks really cool and all. But... it seems too over powered to me. Like, to the point there wouldn't be much challenge in the end game.
Is it?
I get what you mean. What I displayed here however is the same playthrough adapting and changing to different builds - so granted I was very high lvl. If you just pick up & play your class while following your path it will feel different
@@JarlEra That's a fair point. Thanks, I'll keep in in mind and give the mod a try
Lmk what you thought of it afterwards!@@tempest3394
Godskin Matriarch ?
That boss was not added when I did this video - got a new one coming about the 1.3 patch changes :)
does anyone know anything about co--oping with this mod?
AFAIK it should be possible
It includes support for Seamless Coop. It works great
Is this mod just for PC??
Debating on using convergence but tbh you make it look like the mod is makes the game so easy as to not be fun is this the case?
Convergence is naturally easier than vanilla because of the improved gear & talismans. The way I see it Convergence is a perfect mod for anyone who wants to play a fast paced "NG+" run and also explore all of the various changes that has been made. It is also important to note that melee builds were not as exciting at the point when I made this video - but it they have received a lot of changes since then :)
This mod is not available on console, right?
Unfortunately, no :/
I would play it, if I could…..
Don't have ER on PC? :/
@@JarlEra Don’t even have a PC
@@JarlEra I did try it out. It was great content, just not the paths part.
Does this work with pirated games?
How do you get so much health??
Might've had some greatrune buff together with levels. I honestly don't remember
Only problem I have with this mod is the builds are too strong lol. like it's ironic that I'm looking for hard mode for convergence lmao
Haha yeah coming in to the mid to lategame of convergence one really becomes a god... Maybe do a no-gear challenge? ;>
