I've been watching Lauren in some videos today. Im a fan now. I dont become fan of models. But shes pretty, down to earth, physically and mentally tough! Whats not to like!
Wow! you're really athletic gir. I've practiced capoeira for around 6 months, and it took me a while to make some movements you did in the first session. you're amazing.
Capoeira obtained the dance connection due to slaves escaping from the portuguese slave masters. They refined the fighting technique and went back into the camps to teach it to others under the banner of music. That is the dance connection. Also, Ngolu is an African dance (Zebra dance) on which the Angola style is based on.
i actually do Capoeira, each belt takes forever to get btw, first belt white belt is one year, grey is 2, white/grey is 4, etc goes to orange/brown depending on if you are teacher or master of teacher
Capoeira is my best art , capoeira have many chances to know friends in the world and learn more like music capoeira and play berimbau oh is so beautiful. Capoeira meu vida
re Salum75: Capoeira is indeed afro-Brazilian. As you'd mentioned it was developed by the African slaves in Brazil, so how does that invalidate its African roots? There are a number of African influences that can be traced in Capoeira. Though we don't have any written proof of it, the influences are there and obvious if one knows what to look for. For example, the whole call and response element to the singing, the instruments themselves, the focus on spoken language teaching, and the movements can all be traced back to west African music, dance, and martial arts. Kenneth Dossar, Daniel Dawson, and many others have written extensively about this subject.
It's too bad Ms. Berlingeri didn't get a chance to study it at Mestre Joao Grande's school in NYC. It would have given her a much different perspective on the art.
imagine this , in UFC you cannot kick while the opponent has his hands on the floor,THATS ALL A CAPOEIRA PRACTITIONER WANTS ! do you know how difficult it is to punch a capoeirista when he goes so low preparing a spinning back kick ? and how hard is a back hill kick?marcos aurelio should go to UFC.
capoeira is not afro brazilian, its brazilian !There is no schools of capoeira in Africa, only brazilians schools.Africans descendents developed capoeira in Brazil when there was slavery ,but they were already born in Brazil, you will not find anything related to capoeira in africa(capoeira is a Brazilian word).By the way, black colored ppl here are not called afro-brazilians they are called brazilians...period.
"African descendants developed capoeira in Brazil", hence, "Afro-Brazilian". Not in the sense that it was created in Africa, but it was created by African-descendants/Africans who went to Brazil.

That is what some people theorize, however, there are no primary sources to back this up. Capoeira history is shrouded in mystery ;)
