So glad you are back to being a full time potter again. I have been and then not and now back to it... I still suck at the business side of being a potter (I have another business I have been running for 20 years), but it's worth it to be able to spend so much time with clay.
Would love to know more about how you handle the everyday business side of pottery! And also how you overcame the burnout phase and what you do differently now to avoid it happening again? Thank you for your videos! ❤
As an aspirational part or fulltime potter, I appreciate all your shared knowledge so much! I just bought your book and can't wait to check it out! Thank you :)
Crazy I just found your channel and saw you had a book available, checked it out- i already ordered it yesterday!! Excited to learn more about handbuilding!!
Lovely to hear ❤ so many crossovers I’m currently with Otago at Ara, lovely Cecilia (my neighbour) and inf def my friends. An Ōtautahi girl too. Thanks for sharing x
I just came upon your channel today, and I'm feeling inspired by your story. I have long wanted to learn ceramics, but I live in a village in rural italy where opportunities are quite rare. My 8 year old daughter is exactly the way you describe yourself...always making something in some medium or other! So I am going to buy your book and see whether we can find some supplies, and have a go. I just really want to be able to make nice things for my own home, especially mugs, which are sadly lacking in Italy. Thanks :)
What studio in NZ? I am at Reyburn House in Whangarei and am always so shocked that it only costs $120 a year! When I go back to the US I know it will be more like 200-300/month. I love your story. Thanks for sharing. I would love to transition from engineering to a full time potter.

It’s a pretty hard balance isn’t it! I feel like I’m constantly hustling to make sure I make enough pots to make enough money 😂
Thanks for posting this.
You’re welcome! A bit of a different style of video - glad you enjoyed!

Oh yes, I thought you lacked an accent, new subscriber here. I work at Ara marking engineering assignments and do pottery when I get home.
