12 Pedals In 12 Minutes [And 12 Guitars! Just For Fun]

- We know, one minute isn't enough for a pedal demo. But let's try anyway…
Hello friends, welcome to That Pedal Show.
Dear Daniel is away in Australia, but at this time of year we like to give away a bevvy of effectors to our Active Patrons On Patreon. I thought I'd plug in and give 'em a whirl before we give 'em away!
And, ahem, borrow some of Dan's lovely guitars too!
If you're an active paying Patron, you'll get an email on how take part. If you're not, sit back and enjoy the tones anyway. Maybe there's a kernel of an idea of how to do new pedals here… albeit one minute is probably pushing it a bit!
A MASSIVE thank you to all the companies involved for allowing us to give their pedals away. Not least Mikey Demus for his awesome cameo (show coming early January 2024). THANK YOU!

I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, I don't need a SG, ...
The guitar that was the least comfortable to play...that I regret the most selling 😂
Totally repeating after you on that one. I’ve been jonesing for an SG Jr for quite some time.
You need an SG
@@888jimmleast comfortable? I have 3 because its my favorite. I have a les paul, a 335, two teles and two strats and a prs, but the sg is the best shape
Unless it's a Yamaha SG
TPS on a timer feels more stressful than the episode of Mick mucking about in his 335
much love!
Hahaha! Tell me about it!
Hahaha i still have abit of stress from that video i think 😂
Oh man you've just hit on an awesome way to show all the pedals you receive in short order. Make this a regular segment!
Yes! great format this is!!!!
Might give it a hair more playing time by not first naming the pedal... we can read it, or read it in the description below.
@@TheRealFreekBos Yes! Oh man that would be the most epic series ever: Every Pedal In TPS Studios in a minute each!
The actual Spruce Goose (airplane) is at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon about 25 miles from me. It is unbelievably huge. You gotta see it when you visit Oregon. There is also a replica of the Wright Bros plane, an SR-71 Blackbird and a gazillion other planes and rockets on display.
That Angry Rhubarb 😮😮😮 that was TOAAAAN 🤘🤘🤘
Really nice to hear it with simple spring reverb rather than the digital room that you guys are into these days. I feel that you hear more of the amp and pedals.
Love this kind of format. Do more of this kind of videos.
Wampler Triumph sounds very good!
Love it! This is what we all need on a dark, wet Thursday evening in December!
Best pedal demo you’ve done in years sir! All guitarists buy a pedal in the hope it improves their tone. So, they want immediate gratification. Consequently, their interest only lasts a minute before they decide it’s for them. This video fits that bill perfectly! Great video! 😂
Instant classic. If you don’t do one of these every week from now on I’ll be very disappointed!
“12-pedal Friday”. Play more jazz!!!!
That univibe at the end was incredible
The Triumph sounded great!
“Angry Rhubarb” is giving me unpleasant flashbacks to that bit in “A Private Function”.
What a great idea! I can feel Mick's self restraint fighting to not dial each pedal more 😁
I loved the sound of the 1st pedal, the crazy tube’s circuit of that fabulous fender amp sound. Thanks again for all the fantastic reviews that You Two do! The world is a better place because of You Two!
last one was bananas
Wow, hopefully you guys will make this regular segment! That Triumph sounded awesome and the outro on the Sabaddius was delish (tones and playing.)
A 12 minute video by TPS standards is a UA-cam Short. Enough to whet the appetite.
Overdrivin' home for xmas....
Yay! Thanks so much for the concise sampling of all these pedals. I don't always watch your shows because I can't afford to take 45 minutes or an hour and a half per video. Definitely, this one is a keeper! I thoroughly enjoyed the Caroline Somersault in particular.
Thanks! Obviously did all the crazy stuff with the Somersault, but it’s also capable of some wonderfully textural subtle stuff as well!
Excellent video Mick and sublime playing as usual. Amazing.
12 Great Christmas Gift ideas! Cheers Mick!!
Some killer playing there Mick! Loved it!
Great format, and that Fender delay sounded surprisingly great!
Love it! More of this.
I quite like Fender's Hammertone Flanger as well, very tasteful and simple.
Tiny vibe, triumph is Trower of power. Enjoyed the presentation.
That univibe is glorious!
Great vid! Love the one minute demos, that’s enough as long as you go through the different gain settings. The M-EQ seemed a bit thin compared to mine, great pedal. Loved the vibe at the end.
Wait... you CAN make videos less than an hour long? 😁
Hey guy's greetings from San Jose CA USA. Love the show
That was really great!!! Thanks a lot!
This is a killer format!!!
Wampler is a company that I have never explored thoroughly but everytime I hear one of his pedals it is always one of my favorites on any channel.
fun !!! happy holidays TPS !!
This is a great idea. Quick demos of a bunch of cool picks. Would also like to see a full series where you each build a personal board. Not necessarily a no expenses but what “I” Mick and Dan would use for a tour right now. Long term build. Full breakdown. Reasons for certain picks etc.
Great video Mick, damn does that Sabbadius Vibe sound amazing.
I would love to be in the room to feel the sound of the magnificent TR 😊 great video !
Love it Mick, the PRS looks good to. 😀😂😂
Love this
🤘
That was thoroughly enjoyable.
The Fender Hammertone series are all solid pedals. That chord for Purple Rain is instantly recognizable with that effect.😅
Cool concept! What a fun video!
Great short sharp blast.
Love the laugh after playing with that summersault. Wonderfully odd pedal
Loved that❤
Fun vid. Do more of these.
What a brilliant video. Great tones throughout, but I'm really sold on that Fender Delay!
Fender pedals are surprisingly decent, though I've not tried the Hammertone series. The Hammertone Space Delay looks great, too. Another great budget delay is the Walrus Fundamental, which I use & adore.
That looked like a lot of work. Thank you.
yikes that SG Jr ... absolutely on point
just what I needed!
This was a great idea, scratched that itch to see the guitars and a bunch of random pedals. Ace
triumph for the win
Going for it! Thanks Mick, and very well done.
I love the show since the beginning. Tone love, geek love, human love. Tone is everything. Not my humble opinion: you're the best of the best at what you do.
(Apart: I'm 40, decades severe depressive. Violin and then guitar supported me this whole time. Because of my flaws, i left everything, work, family, friends, hobbys. The one thing i still have is guitar gear. That's what makes me still vibrate. I'd love to have a talk with you Mick and Dan. If you ever come in Brittany: ' Le Coota' Erdeven, intense jams every thursday, live music all year long, amasing location really. Needle in the Hay...) Shwang
Thanks!
You should check out Bennett Custom Audio from St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Mark makes some wonderful pedals, including his newest release, the Lighthouse Tremolo. 60-Cycle Hum reviewed it a few weeks back and loved it.
That Triumph sounded kind of neat. Wouldn't mind spending some time with that one. Rock on.
Do 12 overdrives in 12 minutes. Then 12 boosts. Then 12 delays etc etc
Heck, that's more time than you get to try stuff at NAMM sometimes... I like this format!
Dig that Ross chorus "Scofield moment", in spite of your self-flagellating, Mick 🙂
Fun show! Hope everyone in TPS-land has a great holiday. You need to get Dan to do one of these!
12 minutes. Not 12000 minutes!
Us oldies do go on a bit... But theres gems in there, funny story about gems I was once doing some mountain cli.. nevermind what were we on about?@@ThatPedalShow
High efficiency work. Get a vid and 12 shorts from it. Well done. :) Good fun.
This reaffirmed that the Ce2 is it for me and chorus. It has made me think about univibe though. Thanks it was cool
Super new format, brilliant, because you get an idea whats new on the market…….
3.53 Looking for Dan to share that hang....
Really like this quick shot get pedals out that we may have not seen. Some fun ones in there. I have to admit you sounded like I would in some spots. LOL
Don't worry about borrowing Dan's gear while he's away - we won't tell him
I was thinking the same thing! HAHA. I saw the SG Jr. and thought "Oh snap!"
6:46 That Somersault sounds like something Henry Kaiser would like. That's not a compliment.
I know I had a bit to drink last night, but how long was I out? Did I lose a day?
You lost a day 😊
I don’t need a Rickenbacker, I bought one before and I used it thrice. But I still see yours and it makes me get on Reverb.
Short format content?! Haha awesome as always tho dude
NICE!!
Fantastic Mick! That opening Jam. Straight fire. Well done Sir 🤓✌️
Oh for just an additional 2 or 3 seconds of footage.
With that delay, you were on the edge of Edge there!
Cool.
Now plan a Telethon where you use this format for every pedal behind you. Live!
That TC Electronic chorus has a very specific, identifiable sound to me.
TWO ROCK JOEY LANDRETH SIGNATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joey’s, no less.
Fun!
12 minutes for us, but i wonder if it was more like 12 hours for you? It was really interesting to hear the differences between the variety of guitars.
Since getting a hollowbody with Lollar P90s (Eastman T64/v) I've come to find that the guitar straight into a Vox AC15 is the best tone (to my ears) and the most responsive (to my fingers) combination I've yet to experience in my 20-odd years of playing guitar. It's an been an incredible eye (ear?) opening experience for me. Coming from a Strat and an SG with a variety of gain and modulation pedals, I'm finding the tone of the hollowbody unbelievably pristine and balanced across every string and along every fret. It's kind of like a piano. And if I try stepping on a compression or overdrive pedal, something vital is subtracted rather than added to both the tone and the feel that ultimately makes me put the pedalboard away in its case.
Now, I'm no quitter. I could very well live out my days with my Bigsby-equipped hollowbody plugged straight into an amp and be quite content - my wife is of this opinion - but my heart tells me there is more, more tone to be had!
Any pedal recommendations for drives that play well with hollowbodies would be most appreciated. My TS and Klon-style overdrives aren't doing it for me. Cheers!
Who’s Mikey ? Clip of a New episode ??? Dood looks pretty awesome and sounds great
Yah! Mikey Demus of Skindred. It’s his pedal company! With Thorpy. Episode coming up early Jan…
Should’ve released this a couple days ago. Ya know, on 12/12. 😆
If only we were ever that organised!
Speed-dating, fun
That dude that created the Somersault? Yeah, I'll have some of the stuff he was on at the time please 😆
Philippe Herndon. SOLID dude. Caroline is good stuff!
Thanks for the twelve PEDALS of Christmas, the most fun to be had in twelve minutes ( if you do it twice from his Wife!!!! ) Happy Christmas & have a great New year. PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.
Welcome to That TLDR; Show!
Rickenbacker is a guitar brand I sorely wanted as a young player. As a shred, rock guy, not sure why. Maybe I recall hearing the fret slant made you faster? Something stupid like that. Age changes you a lot- Rickenbacker guitars always have that ONE sound. Either you dig it or you don't. I don't.
Okay, so Mick just did an aqua man... I gues hes cool now...
Well done Mick! That was class!
Could release these as shorts/reels/tiktoks? It might not fit with the 'bigger questions' ethos of the channel, but a good way to get through a lot of pedals!
Epic!! ❤😅
Mick!!!! How are you brother!!! I think TPS needs a headless guitar or something...just to push the envelope!!! Merry Christmas brother!!!
Anmol! All good man. Yeah, headless guitars. Hmmm. Maybe!
Really fun way to go through some pedals and guitars, but I think you should do 8 pedals with three minutes each.
You tapped your screen. I was wondering if you’d address the timer switching.
Cool vid! If you do it again see if you can use 12 different brands of guitars, instead of so many Fenders/Gibsons.
Not the 12 delays of Christmas?
Who do I have to kiss to get the Tiny Vibe?????
What I learned from this is: Mick needs to make music.
Thanks! I’m starting that as it goes.
Wow.... I like that les paul red with double binding ❤ What is that brand?
Nik Huber….
Fun! Loved the tone and playing with the tele. But what I mostly want to know: what stopwatch app are you using? Need it!
It’s just the native timer app on the iPhone!
@@ThatPedalShow Who knew! I just learned something new. Thanks!
