That John Deere dealer was impressive. I would love to own some of those classics they had including the 8020. Most would be overkill for my 20 acres but I wouldn't care lol.
Great field trip to Sloan! You gotta love the new stuff but give me the old 10, 20, and 30 series those are a tractor. Farmer Ken in California never stop farming !
You guys run an awesome video.love the old 8020 my dad at one time had a John Deere dealership in over his lifetime he has 1120 and 1830 many 420s for 420 crawler and an 830 diesel so I understand your passion for antiques.
I was raised on a cash crop farm by Bad Axe Michigan. In the spring of 1972 my father bought a brand new1972 4020 from Gettel Equipment in Bad Axe. In 1973 crop prices were good so in December dad decided to buy another new tractor. By then new tractors were hard to find. Dad found a demod 4230 at Sloan Implement in Assumtion Illinois. Sloan's shipped it 600 miles to are farm for the whooping amount of $150 dollars.
One of Sloan's tractor collections is in the next town over, Elberta, AL. A landlord's son works for them full time doing restorations. One of the Sloan brothers has a beach house down here and was a landlord of ours. They've got a good little deal bringing northern combines into my area... Enjoying your videos, keep it up!
Wow, what an inventory. Brings back a lot of memories from my life on a Georgia farm. My favorites we had were the 4020 and 8640. 4020 is the best all around tractor of its era. Thanks for sharing. GaMike
South Saskatchewan Farmer has a 5020 they have taken the cab off of with a refreshed motor for heavy work that they used to use an articulated Canadian tractor for but still have two of.
I have really enjoyed the road trip parts-a-thon. We bought a strip till bar from Sloan’s a couple of years ago. I think we spent 4 hours looking around and 15min loading the bar. I am on the hunt for a 4840 and think I will sneak up there in December and look around again. Thanks again for the series.
I saw your trailer and truck when I stopped in for some parts! Should have stopped by one of the FS plants here in Christian County and we could have gave you a good tour of ammonia!
I actually work for Sloans. And in Shelbyville, IL he has all his collections there at our shop. And he actually has a 8020 cabless that run and drives. A WA17. A few 8850s with original V8s in them. Lots of cool stuff. Maybe come out and visit.
I just looked you up. I am just north of Mohegan Sun Casino In Connecticut. I crop farm and run a feed mill here. Did not know there was room for a dairy in your area on the outskirts of Boston. That must have been on hell of a trip you took. Sloans toy department would fit in Padulas building it self I think. I ask my Deere dealer in CT for a 9R demo and he said it would take a few minutes to get it out of the box.
I seen you later in your video you passed the AHW dealer in Ashmore IL, that was originally built by Bill Coffey, that was a awesome dealer back in the day also. IF you needed a part they had it. IF you went into their shop you could eat off the floor. A model dealer for DEERE for many years.
absolutely love your videos Much different than farming here in NE Iowa. However we do have a few rather large dairys in the area. No robots that I am aware of.
Not a big deere fan but those 20 series tractors and that dealership in general is amazing. Btw herd you say about a fendt i work at mmweaver. I know your not too terrible close to pa but consider us if you ever do go to look at a fendt
I buy all my Claas parts from MM weavers, really enjoy the parts department and the support so If its a Fendt it will be from yall. Thanks for watching
Glad you made it safe & sound. The curve of your camera lense made that trailer appear to be sagging a bit. Agriculture gets a break for good reason, sometimes...
A lot of equipment in the corn belt. Andy Hourigan went over scrapper special in one of his videos its got something to do with heavier center pin. Just think guys back when 8020 came out were just like you are over r series.
Did they get the 8020 fairly recently? A machinery Pete video is in my suggested videos now and it's of the auction that this 8020 sold at, I think. Good video, I bet Yenko was happy to get home and stretch his legs after all the sight seeing
Just saw ur channel. What kind of camera equipment are you using. Everything looks different from other channels It looks great!!! So real like I can reach in and touch it. Keep up the great work!!!.
I know the 4640 came with factory front wheel assist (hydraulic like that 4630), not sure if they started offering factory FWA with the few years of 4630 or not. 50 series began the mechanical FWA.
As I am watching from my apartment in China I realize you are rolling through my home town (Auburn, IL) and I recognize everything. It gave my goosebumps. I have not been able to make it back to the farm since Harvest 19 due to COVID restrictions. We are so used to having Sloans in our backyard that this just seems normal to us... How far did you travel to get there???
I enjoyed stopping in there. Trip was 3300 miles all said and done. Probably 1400 miles to get from auburn home. Stay safe and hope you make it home soon
Damn Duffy, if you had about 30 more feet of trailer you could have brought that 8020 home. Of course that screaming Detroit could be heard three counties over. Nice video man.
If you haven't already, you've got to check out Tom Renner. He owns Shiloh Valley Equipment Shiloh,Illinois. They farm quite a bit as well but Machinery Pete has an awesome video of his mind boggling collection. A few very nice WA tractors. His grandson has a UA-cam channel Renner-Stock Farms.
The 8020 would be the perfect addition to the Chris stable. Would probably need the engine and drive train refreshed. Which would have made it really a good buy from the farmer who'd sold it to these people because with an aircon heater cab with a refreshed dash and cab kit to make it like a new tractor would cost as much as one of those R's. But it would pull like a banshee sucking fuel at a rate that would be shocking compared to a 7520 owner.
4wd i believe would be referred to a axle that is run off a drive shaft. Being as these are hydraulically driven is why they said front wheel assist. I will ask around to verify that
Some people go to see the buildings in the big cities, some people visit the tropics, Duffy AG visits one of the biggest, if not the biggest tractor dealership on the face of the earth. #Jealous. Oh I didn't know they made a 7520 toy. Now I have something for my wife to get me for Christmas.
I know there's alot that have no issues. But I see to many in the shops for wiring issues. I ran a 7320r for a long time and loved it. Ill stick to stuff with less electronics for a while tho
That John Deere dealer was impressive. I would love to own some of those classics they had including the 8020. Most would be overkill for my 20 acres but I wouldn't care lol.
I’m like you when it comes to tractors and equipment I use to bug my daddy to stop and look. So many great memories
That was an awesome dealership, thanks for the tour 👍🏻
Sloan is a huge outfit!
I deal with the store in Atwood IL and the are great people and have great service.
That is a nice double hopper! More than enough room to chop off the fenders and stick on some floats!
Welcome to Assumption!! I work at GSI so you were in my neck of the woods.
Was a great time
Great field trip to Sloan! You gotta love the new stuff but give me the old 10, 20, and 30 series those are a tractor. Farmer Ken in California never stop farming !
Thats for sure nothing beats the old iron. Thanks for watching hope all is well and keep on farming is the only way
Awesome! We bought and traded a couple tractors with Sloan over the years!
Beautiful looking 140
Sloan Equipment= Heaven on Earth!
Sloan's collection is really nice, i look at it everytime im there
Thankyou for taking us along to heaven with you! So cool!!
That’s awesome. I think that one 9r you stood by is our new one that is showing up this weekend.
Congrats on the new tractor
Excellent video 👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
@@DuffyAg your welcome keep up the great videos
Just imagine the way the man felt when he would go out on that 8020, he most likely felt it was the best
Yep I work there, I thought I recognize you guys, I was out in the parking lot pulling that engine out of a combine
Dang small world. I forget the name of the guy I talked to. Sweet place keep up the good work
Great video! That dealer is pretty crazy. Very cool to see that much equipment all in one place.
That's is a great looking dealership, puts my dealer to shame. Would love a shop tour on the next dealer visit.
This is where I grew up. Grandpa bought all of his equipment from there.
You guys run an awesome video.love the old 8020 my dad at one time had a John Deere dealership in over his lifetime he has 1120 and 1830 many 420s for 420 crawler and an 830 diesel so I understand your passion for antiques.
You drove through my hometown in Taylorville Illinois when you went to Assumption love seeing your videos keep up the good work man

Oh the Red hood 140 👌
My uncle has a blue hood 110
My grandfather started the Jd business back in 69

I can only imagine how awesome the collection is. Thanks for watching along
Ahhhh! I love the ole 8020!
The shed with the combines reminded me of a star wars scene with all the fighters in a hanger on hoth or another planet lol
My dad works at Sloans in Assumption and I went with him one day and saw the 8020
Must be such a cool place to work at
Great to see how much you enjoyed your trip ,drive safe

I would be the same way. 4840 are good tractors best of luck finding one
can't wait to see what you do with the stuff you got.
That was amazing!
Thank you for sharing
Wow what r the odds a UA-cam suggested vid and these 2 guys drove right through my hometown
Thanks for watching
That John Deere dealer is what I call a real "Field of Dreams!"
i love watching your videos man
Thanks for watching i appreciate it
That tractor had what you call a Yenko seat in it!
Lots of smokin grunt in the Moline sounds like a good one that White 225 was a good tractor in its day
Love the video wow👏👏👏👏👏😎😎😎
I have a power shift 4630 with front wheel assist. I use it a lot!
I work for sloan implement there in assumption. What you seen for combines is just a drop in the bucket. A lot of them are out for rental use.
Must be a cool place to work for

@@DuffyAg definitely. I have a snap chat video of his collection that I made. And quite a site to see
Just a fun fact the lot as you were currently on it is actually empty lol. Should be starting to fill up in the next two weeks or so.
You were up in my hometown
The 8020 is awesome
Awesome video
The Keller Collection is in my hometown, I've seen that 8010, very cool.
Someday I'd love to see the 8010
Pretty cool!!

There's a few of us left up here but dairy sure has disappeared compared to 20 years ago
My dad had an 8020 with a cab on the farm growing up. I put hundreds of hrs on it. Interesting fact; they have air brakes.

I buy alot of parts from greenpartsstore.com which is AHW much cheaper then my local parts. Seems like a top notch place
absolutely love your videos Much different than farming here in NE Iowa. However we do have a few rather large dairys in the area. No robots that I am aware of.
I used to work some outside of dubuque Iowa with some robot farms. Lot in Wisconsin tho
You are the man!!!
Thanks
Fendt makes a terrific tractor. Went to the factory in Germany... really impressive.
That’s all you see in Europe
Very good video 👍🏻👍🏻

Yes they do own farm ground but different Sloan farms it for them now.
Tie down straps, put a twist in them so they don't vibrate 👍
twist a strap in oz and $180 fine
4855s are pretty nice too love em
We use anhydrous in NY a lot of farmers do here
Western NY i take it? I've seen some in Wyoming County never any where east
@@DuffyAg central NY Cayuga County a lot used here
I see you were at the Auburn Brandts location. That’s about 25 miles north of farms location.
Dude. I live less than 10 miles from you. Awesome channel.
Where you from?
my great uncle was the person who had that sale on june 9th - the 12th
Thats absolutely wild, I wish I had made it there
You’ve got the best got on UA-cam.
beautyful road

Yes it sold over the summer that machinery pete video is the sale video
You gotta have a LOT of land in a field to make Anhydrous worthwhile. We're talking square mile fields near flat.
That makes alot of sense why we dont see more of it in the northeast
I think the WA-17 and 8020 auction sales are on Machinery Pete's UA-cam channel.
Yes cool video i remember watching it when it came out. Watched the auction online too
Just saw ur channel. What kind of camera equipment are you using. Everything looks different from other channels

In 2009 when the home building industry collapsed in Las Vegas, there were huge auction lots crammed full of equipment. Terribly sad.

Good old work horses. Where you located
In Turlock California
nice.... hello from spain
Multi sight dealer located in small town IL area.
How do you manage your farm work you do with your job? My job with ups has never allowed me to do much of anything else but work
I got a good gig, I'm salary tho and some weeks work 110 hours and others none. But it was part of the deal when I took the job
That's a lot of equipment
I would guess it's the 7th
That store was huge
what a video nothing in scotland like that dealers yard
I’d like to think that dealership your at is what heaven looks like lol

I find some deals but it is crazy the prices now
@Monk Farmer yeah
That’s a good sounding Duramax. Has it been deleted?
Yes its deletes. Up pipes down pipe full exhaust. Big turbo more fuel

It was a package deal and the price was right so I got alot of spare parts
