- Chester and Crewe(following on from where the previous 'classic' upload left off)with a nice variety of traction(including Class 31, 37, 45, 47, 86, 87, 90, HST, 142, 150, 153, 156, 158, and 508)and great mix of liveries from the two locations. Filmed on 5th February 1994.
Brilliant. so good to see this knowing I lived so close to the station for most of my childhood.
Brilliant piece of historical footage .thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much - happy to share these clips.
More great blasts from the past. Nice 37/31 combo. 304 stopped in the right place!
Totally agree. The drivers don't even move these days, always used to be head out cab window, whistle, wave , horn and the trusty famous last words, Ride Away.
Perfect video!
Thumbs Up
Thank you very much.
You aint changed much av u..Still all over the network filming.. Another nice presentation Darren
always wondered where the crewe avoider lines were must go there next time im there
3:55 someone dropped something on the track and a kindly member of station staff went down and got it. Wouldn't be permitted to do that now of course, oh dear me no
Nice video, you don't do any station filming now Daz, wonder why?
Cheers Tony. Stations now just aren't the same as back then, certainly not so inviting with all the barriers, and some staff who don't know the Codes Of Practice - and even try to stop you filming at some locations! I will sometimes do station shots(Rugby for instance), but for many locations a nearby countryside spot is just as good - i.e. Marholm instead of Peterborough. Also back in the 80's & 90's it was cheaper to travel by train and you had proper coaches and traction of course.
Iol ill be honest not much has changed
153s, 158s, 508s and 156s still run down this way as well as 56s on the RHTT
You may have a point - those have all out-lasted the 175s too!
