I hope u see this comment man and pin it if u agree with me. Before everything this is a great guide and thank you for it. I just have a few adjustments. Always summon tax dragon by banish first and then revive borea with black feather. That way u have it back in gy Sudri+black feather the triple tax route: When you make nothung CL 1 shamal to add sudri CL 2 Black Fearher to summon shamal then shamal on field activate another black feather. When you normal sudri search the trap instead. Then it is same end board without chinook however u can revive it during opponent's turn with the trap. (with this u get 2 BF and shamal in gy to add back sudri for follow up or whatever if u use the trap). Sudri + special summon or + orochi: u r wasting resources by using nothung. When u revive Vata and then synchro borea send a two for either triple 10 (2 tax + armor or 3 tax) or orochi for Abyss + double 10 and synchro with Blackwinged dragon instead. U keep nothung on field for either case. (For the orochi line depicted, synchro borea and not activate or just do the line I said). Edit: However there is one advantage with revive shamal line is that u get it back in gy for follow up but u will trade off nothung and i dont think it is worth it tbh Sudri+Black whirlwind: this is not a better line per say but different if u prefer the trap + revive chinook over 3 tax. Do not activate sudri tribute effect. Sudri 2nd normal get the trap, Synchro abyss then revive vata, vata+sudri make borea (Do not activate borea) then borea + zeph make tax dragon and banish for the 2nd tax. U lose one tax dragon but u get the trap and revive chinook on opponent's turn and also u keep nothung. Hope anyone finds this helpful.

I just started a fresh account on MD and I looked up some good decks based on the structure decks that are available. I saw this video and my jaw hit the floor. So easy to follow and so easy to understand. You put work into this and its easy to see. Well earned sub.
Thanks so much for the guide, opened my eyes to a few key interactions which radically improved my boards! Was playing around and I think I figured out a better Sudri 1 card Combo that only requires adding Chaos Angel to the extra deck (which most meta decks do anyway). 90% the same but you have to mill Zephyr and Harmattan with Vata. Then add Harmattan to hand with Shamal’s effect instead of Chinook and special summon him. Synchro Chaos angel with level boosted Harmattan Final Board: Full Armor or tax dragon, tax dragon, and chaos angel.
Something to keep in mind. If you opponent has any monsters down you can use black dragons feathers for free LP damage before you use him to summon hot red onto the field. The 800 from nothing and 1400 from 2 feathers is equal to the 2100 we get from 3 assault dragon activation. Basically lessening the monster effects it takes to kill out opponent from 4 down to 3
and its better to do that before summoning nothung, which reduce opponents atk points, because Black dragon will only inflict damage based on the current attack that monster had..
As a person who comes from Duel Links, when i heard "now this is where things get complicated" I chuckled a bit. I'll probably have to study it all again for like a week straight to memorize when to activate whirlwind, when not to do it etc. but the guide seems great, I love that you included the decklist too. Amazing tutorial, would’ve been nicer to slow down a bit or edit the combo execution speed in the video. Still amazing job, this really helped me understand how this deck works.
I havent explain it fully in the video, its because whirlwind check the monster attack point when resolve, so if the monster not there, theres no attack point..reducing the attack point of the blackwing monster also affecting your search..
Another trick on" black whirlwind": it isn't the original attack, it's current attack. So if you summon under a "tearelements scream" reducing the atk of the monster the poll of BW monsters you can search is reduced.
Your best bet, is to get the blackwing trap card, and the you can synchros full armor during opponents turn..at least you get a towering monster that they have to deal with
1.in my opinion it could be tier 3, with how this deck can play tru multiple handtraps 2. i prefer synchro version, its more versatile and less bricky, kali yuga has a guaranteed win turn 1 combo if uniterupted but it has a lil disadvantage where u cant use sudri effect to summon token, where synchro version are free to use it to extens their combo or play tru HT
people just saw them as discount tax deck. but in reality,it actually set up more interruption than just that lol. I even play 1 auster and send it by borea,to set up my full armor steal+boardwipe
kinda sad that every deck in yugioh is unfriendly to new players and to even remotely play the game you have to hyper control or u will lose.... i hate that the game is this complicated now, absolute cryin shame that konami ruined the game
*sigh* You came to an in depth guide showcasing all the combos of a synchro deck and you're disappointed that it's complex? Not big brain. Take your time, play the game with simpler decks, learn the rules at your own pace, play at lower ranks and then move onto more combo decks. No point diving into the deep end and then complaining that it's deep.
Also a little correction on the terminology, Oroshi and Zephyros are not Garnets, they are Bricks. A Garnet is somethig that needs to be inside your deck to fulfill its purpose and has otherwise no other use, just like the namesake Gem-Knight Garnet who needs to be in the Deck for Brilliant Fusion which cant use him as material from Hand. So the Blackwings are Bricks since we dont want to draw them but we can still make use of them if we did.

A most excellent video indeed! Could you perhaps consider adding on the supernova combo guide within blackwing as that is also a possibility alongside hot red abyss and assault black winged dragon
If you have 1 copy of Auster in your deck when you change Boreastorm to Level 4 you can throw Auster instead of Shamal. Activate his effect to put wedge counters on all monsters your opponent controls and take control of the biggest threat (you'll only have 1 slot open if you get your full combo). you could also, with black feather whirlwind, on its activation when you summon Full Armor on your opponents turn summon back Nothung if 800 damage would be more helpful to you.
ONE BIG MISTAKE I SEE IS THAT YOU COULD PUT ALL THE BLACK WHIRLWINDS OUT WHEN YOU HAVE 3 and you will get a card for each one they chain together so when you normal summon sudri with 3 whirlwinds out you get 4 cards from hand!!!!!
the problem ive been having is not having my simoon in opening hand and having no way to fetch him. hope this video covers that because bricking for 3 turns because you dont draw simoon is ass

If you have Radian in your hand is there no way to search for Simoon? Maybe im just not showing the right card in my hand or whatever but i always end up fucking myself when i use Small World. Great video man. i have this on my second screen to help me get my strats right
With radian Sadly no..currently I think the best small world bridge is magical broker..it can small world to anything Even tho u open it on your hand, you can bridge it to maxx c and add vata!

The 30 card's is the core card of the deck they are necessary to have those in order to play this deck The rest of the card's is just handtraps and staples, like raigeki or dark hole, cards that use for countering opponents decks that usually are not part of the archetype, and it's because for countering, means it depends on the meta For small world, I fully explained it in part 2, it's basically a generic spell card that other decks can also use, to add cards that they need or missing piece to start their combo
Correct me if im wrong At the very end of the basic combo one could also go tax dragon with borea + zephyr, bring back borea and then go into ultimaya tzolkin with borea + nothung and use the guaranteed trap search to trigger its effect, right? Cant get crystal wing bc of dark restriction I guess, but void ogre is there and surely something else that's useful for going second as well Basically trading one tax dragon for tzolkin and whatever he can bring out
yes there are still more combo in blackwings, this part 1 is about the very basic combo.. that one counts as an extended combo..because u need cards other than the structure deck..

Hey, thanks for the guide. Is the deck still OK without the Hot Red Dragon, Nothung, & the xyz cards? I want to try the blackwings without investing into the packs/crafting those cards. Nothing at lv.6 enables an extra normal summon, I'm not sure how essential that is. The best dark generics I can toss in are I:P, Borrelsword (big & hard to out like rebellion dragon), and Borrel Savage dragon (omni that's harder to get going than Hot Red). Think that's OK or would the deck struggle to work like that?
nothung is the important one, in some hand situation you gonna need it, wise strix is the 2nd important one, it could help you a lot againts handtraps, with that 2 you should be fine...nothung is not only an extra level 6 but it allows you re-normal summon your sudri again, trigger black whilrwind again to add another cards
@@fafnirymd Yeah, I noticed the Sudri combos shown especially NEED Nothung to get anywhere. For the upcoming light v. dark event, I was hoping hand traps aren't as common, but light players can still access gamma, nibiru, ghost ogre, and effect veiler.
@@phoenixvance6642 blackwing only problem is nibiru, those other handtraps you mention, still avoidable wtih blackwing, wise strix is the reason you need againts veiler, because people tend to negate the sudri to add shamal..so we can search shamal with wise strix later on

Now with Chaos Angel, i've seen lots of blackwing players adding it to their recipes, i wanna know if there's any consistent way, for that card in a combo, or is more like situasional.
So do you run all 5 small world bridges or do you like run 1 or 2? cuz the deck list is 45 card with them. Just need to know pls answer im confused on what to do
Cant wait for combo when a situation like all ur non-tuner 2s in hand, so u cant vata(in effect)+zephyros+non-tuner 2s (if u only bring chinook and other for one copy).
It's in the description, it was outdated but u can switch dd crow to bystials magna and druis, and mecha platform to magical broker..and you are good to go
@fafnirymd I did not understand how to play the card. It took some explaining from some folks on how small world works, and now it makes sense to me. Turns out if you don't add something like a radian or magical broker, you can't use it in the blackwing deck.

indeed, i even admit it synchro deck is the hardest deck to play, but if you want easier synchro deck, try build swordsoul, its still one of the strongest synchro deck in the game yet its easy to play, since it can make its own tuner out of thin air, swordsoul have a secret pack if you want to pour some gems to build it
yeah I feel you. but if u just bring the core that I've shown in the decklist, I believe it will minimize the brick chances, based on my experience tho..
how are we supposed to plya this deck in the anthology event with everything limited to 1 there's no second sudri and boreastorm banned everything else from the structure limited to 1.
if you talkin without simoon, you must make sure you have sudri + either black whirlwind or vata/shamal or feather whirlwind and must have nothung in your extra deck, so just do normal sudri combo, but after nothng summon, the one that you normal summon the 2nd time is zephyros instead of sudri from hand, and just tribute zephyros with sudri to make tuner level 2, and now you can recycle feather whirlwind back, if you need help on that combo, you can add me on discord MikailisRoy#5101

having your borea in your graveyard is actually way more dangerous..it becomes a target for any anti graveyard effects, keeping it banish is better..

That’s true but it was simply to demonstrate a realistic hand. It was assuming he pulled no whirlwinds but had Simoon+Blackwing
He is demonstrating 1.5 card combo
Blackwhirl wind usually just builds up but I do that too even tho I'd would be better to not all in when I can save a whirlwind for later
Be careful of the nibiru, usually they combined with maxx c if possible syncro summon baron

The rest of the card's is just handtraps and staples, like raigeki or dark hole, cards that use for countering opponents decks that usually are not part of the archetype, and it's because for countering, means it depends on the meta
For small world, I fully explained it in part 2, it's basically a generic spell card that other decks can also use, to add cards that they need or missing piece to start their combo
If u new to the game it's very worth it to build but it's not easy to learn it, sometime u have to think out of the box or improvise to play this deck

At the very end of the basic combo one could also go tax dragon with borea + zephyr, bring back borea and then go into ultimaya tzolkin with borea + nothung and use the guaranteed trap search to trigger its effect, right?
Cant get crystal wing bc of dark restriction I guess, but void ogre is there and surely something else that's useful for going second as well

yes there are still more combo in blackwings, this part 1 is about the very basic combo..
that one counts as an extended combo..because u need cards other than the structure deck..
Question, is it fine to summon Full Armor Master with two tax dragon or is that sub-optimal

Hey, thanks for the guide. Is the deck still OK without the Hot Red Dragon, Nothung, & the xyz cards? I want to try the blackwings without investing into the packs/crafting those cards. Nothing at lv.6 enables an extra normal summon, I'm not sure how essential that is. The best dark generics I can toss in are I:P, Borrelsword (big & hard to out like rebellion dragon), and Borrel Savage dragon (omni that's harder to get going than Hot Red). Think that's OK or would the deck struggle to work like that?
nothung is the important one, in some hand situation you gonna need it, wise strix is the 2nd important one, it could help you a lot againts handtraps, with that 2 you should be fine...nothung is not only an extra level 6 but it allows you re-normal summon your sudri again, trigger black whilrwind again to add another cards
those are ok but you rarely summon them, but in some grinding situation, they could work..
@@fafnirymd Yeah, I noticed the Sudri combos shown especially NEED Nothung to get anywhere. For the upcoming light v. dark event, I was hoping hand traps aren't as common, but light players can still access gamma, nibiru, ghost ogre, and effect veiler.
@@phoenixvance6642 blackwing only problem is nibiru, those other handtraps you mention, still avoidable wtih blackwing, wise strix is the reason you need againts veiler, because people tend to negate the sudri to add shamal..so we can search shamal with wise strix later on

Now with Chaos Angel, i've seen lots of blackwing players adding it to their recipes, i wanna know if there's any consistent way, for that card in a combo, or is more like situasional.
you can summon it either going 1st for battle protection your other synchro monster, or going 2nd to banish on summon..
So do you run all 5 small world bridges or do you like run 1 or 2? cuz the deck list is 45 card with them. Just need to know pls answer im confused on what to do
of course 1, or else it will brick your deck, some people run 2, like radian + weeping idol

Hey there, using your decklist in the light vs dark event currently. Why do you have three copies of small world when you aren't able to even play it?

@fafnirymd I did not understand how to play the card. It took some explaining from some folks on how small world works, and now it makes sense to me. Turns out if you don't add something like a radian or magical broker, you can't use it in the blackwing deck.

Man I want to pick BW, but the combos 😅 Synchro decks are really something.
indeed, i even admit it synchro deck is the hardest deck to play, but if you want easier synchro deck, try build swordsoul, its still one of the strongest synchro deck in the game yet its easy to play, since it can make its own tuner out of thin air, swordsoul have a secret pack if you want to pour some gems to build it

yeah I feel you. but if u just bring the core that I've shown in the decklist, I believe it will minimize the brick chances, based on my experience tho..
how are we supposed to plya this deck in the anthology event with everything limited to 1 there's no second sudri and boreastorm banned everything else from the structure limited to 1.

Soooooo what do you do if zephyros is in your opening hand for the 1.5 card combo?
simoon?? make sure to banish it with simoon and recover back with feather whirlwind, 13:16
if you talkin without simoon, you must make sure you have sudri + either black whirlwind or vata/shamal or feather whirlwind
and must have nothung in your extra deck, so just do normal sudri combo, but after nothng summon, the one that you normal summon the 2nd time is zephyros instead of sudri from hand, and just tribute zephyros with sudri to make tuner level 2, and now you can recycle feather whirlwind back,
