Although the weld technology is nothing new, somehow it’s a Bozeman beauty. Lives comfortably in many of their backpack pockets, weird. Passport and cash perfect, seat pocket stuff.
Please recommend me a : - slim waist bag that can be easily hidden under a shirt (fits a : phone, cigarette and wallet) - and a smal or slim sling bag that fits a ipad mini (phone, charger, cigarette and wallet)
A good use for this is stashing some cash. Going to SE Asia next month and will be going to some water adventures and cash for tips is useful and other valuables you want to keep safe from water. Price point is bit much but it’s EG
I don't know about this type of pouch. I mean $35 USD buys a lot of zip-lock bags that can be pretty tough. I would think most people would want more of their stuff to be dry, not just a few documents.
@@Nomads.Nation I don't mean the regular refrigerator zip-lock bags. But rather the specialized zip-lock bags for meant for traveling with liquids, like the ones from Ogato - much, much thicker material and triple sealed.
Gas-impermeable just means air can’t get through the zip. Maybe EG used that language because the pouch itself is not airtight, but at least the zip won’t let air through (even though the stitches might). But since it’s submergible, it’s definitely watertight. In my opinion it’s worth $35 even if I won’t ever use it myself. People who say a ziploc works as well haven’t carried a ziploc into deployment. It breaks, it tears, etc. You don’t buy this pouch because your ziploc does its job. You buy it because it can survive for longer than a ziploc. It’s more expensive than alternative options for the size (like Magpul and Niteize), but it’s also well-constructed and there’s a lifetime warranty. I won’t expect the zip to last forever though, coated zippers tend to delaminate.
There's actually no stitching used, so that shouldn't be a concern (though I've had RF-welded seams simply come apart before on a dry bag, so something to keep in mind). Also I wouldn't say that the zippers are "coated"-it's more of a hard plastic rail and a plastic "bay" for the zipper slide which creates the seal. Pretty cool pouch even if I haven't found a use for mine yet!
@@MrJed_sthanks for sharing! Yeah, for what it is, $35 for the package, the branding and the warranty is okay. Personally I’d never find a use for it, but if you needed a bombproof waterproof pouch you wouldn’t go wrong shooting for one of these!
In my opinion, the Nite Ize RunOff pouch is a better alternative. It’s $25 on Amazon and it’s just about the same thing. Except the lifetime warranty 🤔
I like that the EG pouch is only RF-welded on the sides, that makes it a slightly more robust design in my mind. The clear window on the NiteIze could be a pro or con depending on the use case I suppose but looks like a solid alternative.
You don't have to put your phone at risk to test the waterproofness of the pouch. Just put a packet of tissues in it and submerge it for a long period.
Hi! Just a feedback. I'm not a native English speaker but that's probably why I think you're talking too fast in this video (even feels like the video got sped up?). Still love your vids tho
Try changing the playback speed under the cog/settings icon in UA-cam. I have mine set to 1.5x so I wouldn't say Aaron speaks that fast compared to other channels I watch.
Good pouch, useful features? Yes. Worth $35 US? No. It actually seems like something you would used to hold your wallet and passport while scuba diving, and Kelli then dry underwater. Otherwise, a ZipLoc bag works just as well to keep your wallet and passport dry.
@Nomads.Nation Exactly. If you're in the very niche segment that needs heavy duty underwater wallet protection, this is nice. For everyone else, just keep your wallet in a ZipLoc (for water protection), and keep *that* in your pouch/bag, which provides the padding and protection.
Hey Aaron, just wanted to say that i really appreciate you putting other spoken languages in your reviews. They are really helpful!
I didn't even know we did that but you are welcome! lol
i think thats auto translated in youtube lmao. it’s extremely annoying that it switches to those languages automatically when i dont speak them though
It would be great if they made this in different sizes! I could probably use it as a folio for important docs and such
yea, that would be awesome
🤣 too fun! Good for the beach🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️on the boat
😎
More submersion bags! Can it fit the biggest iphone?
Also a good way to test the submersion validity is with a piece of paper and a bucket.
good call!
The water proof pouches are great to have to put your passport, some cash and a card in when traveling abroad
Agreed!

For sure!
Could we stick a stamp in the window & mail it ti Nomad Nation.?
as long as you pay for postage 🤠

You made the perfect argument that the Evergoods Flat Pouch Small is just a really expensive pencil case :D
that's exactly what it is haha, but just like their bags are just really expensive backpacks, there's a market for everything
Can you do a review of the tomtoc aviator t35 1.5L and 3.5L? Its new ones. I got the 1.5L in X-Pac and its nice!
I’ll check em out!
Magpul DAKA pouches are a direct alternative
I'll check it out

It’s a lot tougher than a ziplock bag but I also totally see your point lol

They just dropped the price on the elements bag and pouch ahhhhhhhh
this one is still $35 tho 💪

What's the name of the magnifying glass? Thanks.
there's no brand name on it and it was gifted to me in Vietnam, sorry!

is lifetime warranty worth an extra $10? I think it could be

much less lol

Ziploc bag won't be anywhere near as durable, but if you just need something basic then yes this will be overkill for most

Yeah I'm good, ziplocs are pretty waterproof.
and significantly cheaper lol
But nowhere as durable, if that’s what you need it for.
$35? Nope, not worth it.
🫡
That looks like an overpriced pencil/pen case, lol. Materials are nice though.
Yea very expensive when you look at it that way, it’s a very niche premium product
overpriced waste of money, would be on sale in a week or two
😬
