I have this machine at home and I use a Nespresso machine at work. I find the quality of the pods are comparable between both brands. To me, the Aldi wins overall as the pods are far cheaper (around .40c a pod...Nespresso are up near $1 a pod so far more expensive). You didn't rinse the machine properly before using it for the first time and you over extracted the pod so of course it's going to taste terrible. Use two pods if you're going to fill a mug or do a latte with milk. If you're just doing a shot of espresso, one pod is fine. This rule applies to Nespresso as well. EDIT: I've watched some of your other coffee review videos and I enjoyed them. Interesting to see you also live on the Gold Coast. Small world.
For anyone also wondering the numbers on the espresso boxes indicate the strength 11 being higher than 6. I think the highest in strength here in Sydney Aldi's are 14
I’m sure you would have worked it out by now but you have to press the rinse button on the right first before you push the small or large coffee button options. You don’t normally get half a cup of coffee coming out.

It’s $39 now 😮
I’m going to try it
my dislike is lack of single origin South American, most of the range is blend or Arabic.
I would agree with you on that. I have also noticed after using the machine the capsule will get stuck in the mechanism most times.
I have bought Brazilian and Peruvian at my local Coles, you can get them online as well.
No problem with capsules getting stuck.
