Fantastic run! One minor quibble, though, at 11:50 you mention, "these types of enemies weren't in the original game," but they actually were. Drain Deimos.
I should have specified that these types WERE new. Not that the enemy idea itself is new. They are completely different in the remake.

Now that is a solid speedrun boss fight. RE2R speedrun boss fights are just knife fights.

This game could have been so much more. It needed more humanoid Nemesis. He stops being spooky the moment he turns into a giant dog.

Dominic dominic I agree. Resident Evil has never been scary unless your 8 years old. It is more about tension than fear.

I've beaten this game somewhere around ten times and I had no clue you were supposed to shoot those red lights when nemesis hides behind a tank. I'd always just wait forever and try to dodge his attack. 50:40

@Dominic dominic this is just like the wow classic shit , ppl think this game took 60 hours , when its original state its really fast and simple and full of time wastes and boring shit also, everyone was way too bad at the game when we were kids so everyone thinks the remake is too short lmao
@@grimzz1499 it’s short for a $60 game with no real bonus modes or nun like RE2R. If it were $40, the complaint may have been lessened. Other than that, you’re right.
@@grimzz1499 It's too short for a $60 game, but it's not much shorter than the original. The price dropped pretty fast though (I got it for about $12) so idc.
So Drain Demos were enemies in the original game, they were only there for a short portion of the game, similar to the Remake. They were not made solely for the remake at all.

Watching this really solidify my opinion on one thing. Boss fights in this game are way more entertaining than RE2R. Also interaction between characters is just simply better.
Well the game is overall more fun to play/replay imo. The lack of content in comparison is unfortunate.
The writing and acting in RE3make is way better than 2, which is sort of strange. Can't help but see Leon and Claire as goofy do-gooders in a Saturday morning cartoon, while Jill and Carlos are both pretty charismatic with some really great facial animation to pull the performance together.

Re2 was perfection but the knife did ruin the purpose of boss fights
It’s a bit of a shame that the speed running community barely took off for this game...
There was a devoted group of about 10 people going against each other at the start, but they were all so close to each other there wasn't much making new runners want to start cause there wasn't much more to take off
Anyone who played it experienced a speedrun.

RoryKenneigh Yeah I remember when Dist and Bawk ran Nightmare for days on end and then suddenly dropped it. It just ended up being way too frustrating, I suppose.

So there were 2 umbrella labs underground? Cuz if this takes place after Re2 then the one in that game already went kaboom.
