Alex, not only are you a huge inspiration for me and a proof of how far you can go - you have pushed my limits and believes in what I can (if I practice enough) - but you also appear to me, from our chats and discussions at Facebook, as one of the nicest people I have "met" in this business. Thank you
Hi Mikkel!😎 Thanks for your kind words. This is the great thing about UA-cam, Facebook, etc. Artists sharing their experiences from around the world. It would be fun to meet someday! I just watched one of your workshop videos and everyone looks like they’re having a great time.🔥🔥🔥
@@alexlongart I very much agree. We all gain most from sharing - professionally and personally. I always did that and I appreciate others - like you, that do so too. And yes, I would love to meet one day when all this pandemic is over. You are on the top of my list :-)
That's amazing Alex, beautiful work. Made me chuckle though when the first lid stuck, had that happen to me a few times. At least the second one compensated for that though. Best regards from the UK>
Yes, go for it! At each connection, trim from the inside, the thicker clay. If you don’t, it will look good until it’s dry. The thicker areas will shrink a little more and ruin the perfect form, leaving the joined sections obvious. Good luck! Send me a photo if you’d like to. Or if you have any questions. alexlongart@att.net. 🔥😎🔥
Yes, I laid the leather hard piece on its side and sprayed foam insulation half the way up. This gave it uniform support. I separated the foam from the piece with trash bags.
This is so beautiful and genius. And you are so trusting with all these people walking so close to your work in progress!
@@yvonnek3695 Thank you, I’m glad that you enjoyed it! It was fun throwing in front of a cheering crowd!😀

Thanks Clifford! I should have felt the main piece, before I dropped the lid on it!😂
@@alexlongart glad you only lost the lid! what a disaster had it been the pot

Wonderful craftmanship! How much did it sell for in the end?
Thank you Matt! I haven’t glaze fired it yet, but I now know how I want to glaze it.
So did you get it home in piece?

It is a multple piece put to together not in one piece.
Yes, it’s thrown in four 25-pound sections, with probably a 5-6 pound lid.
