i think updating the art supplies you're using when recreating older art is absolutely following the challenge. you're not the same artist anymore, just like your style has changed, you are now gravitating towards different supplies, so why not use them 💞 wonderful work!
Girl you killed it! All of the little touches you've added to the piece are so great. I wouldn't get tired of the rim lighting either. I'm definitely going to listen to that podcast episode. And even if you're unhappy with where you art is right now, I hope you still enjoy the process (and I appreciate your emphasis on doing so)!
Misa Misa didn't have to slay this hard 😳❤🔥No but ahhh I love this coloring style you keep playing with!! It's honestly very lovely and gives this extra "pro photoshoot" vibe to the subjects 🥰
Your art style 🥰🥰🥰🥰 It’s so good you absolutely nailed Misa but in your style. The fact that this is the level your at from 2007 gives me so much hope with my art and the direction I want to take it. Thanks for always inspiring 🤗💕
I love this art trend! I’ve been wanting to do it on my channel because it looks so fun but am scared I won’t feel like I’ve improved enough lol! This was incredible and I love to see the progression!
Ahhh, it's so satisfying watching the layers build up with the markers, especially with the fabrics and skin. I love how confidently you rendered the hands as well!
I really like that there’s not really any music behind you talking, that I can really hear. Very peaceful and kind of oddly unique compared to other art channels I’ve seen! (at least in this video, first one I’ve seen of this channel)(like talking to a friend!)
I’m still enjoying the double rim lighting as much as you are! I’m not familiar with this character, but the way you describe her personality definitely comes through in the artwork. Thanks for the awesome video, you did amazing!! 💕
the redraw looks great 🙂 yeah lol, when you and Alba pointed that out, I was like yep. youngins dont know how easy they have it now being able have everything right at their fingertips 😝
I love the artwork!! I think is my fave so far :) thanks for sharing your process and your journey, anime was a big influence in my teens too, and the big reason I take the pencil and draw again, because I stop drawing because of my art teachers hating anime and manga style, but since liking anime was a thing that people make fun of, but make me happy, I decided to do as I please and, thanks god I did hahaha
hi Tina! I’m in high school and I LOVE art and you are a big inspiration for me. Your art style is so pretty and I love keeping up with all your videos
Wow your style has come a long way, love the two tone light that you have going through your art. Question what fine liners are you using? I also like using pencil with alcohol markers, it’s the texture that I like, um the scratchy look when I use the pencil very lightly. Guess I should blend them more but I like the look.
Girl the journey you’re on sounds very similar to mine. It was about 3 years ago and I had been trying to find that same balance of drawing what I loved but also what was popular and still I’d look back and feel unhappy with the work I produced that year. It all felt alittle meaningless, monotonous, and Nonprogressive. It all changed when I stopped and I completely dove into what I was actually passionate about. I was doing a lot of DTIYS or drawing others peoples characters trying to be inspired. Not to say that is a bad thing, I had fun in the moment of drawing them, but for me in the end it all felt pointless. I’ve now fully dedicated myself to painting what I LIKE and what will increase my skills and in the end the clicks didn’t matter. The quantity of my work also lessened but the quality went way up. Again this is just how my journey was and isn’t the same for everyone but I hope you find that same moment of finally being proud of your work.
Oh, so you were good good since back in the day 🤣 did you used to draw on computer paper? Because it it took prismacolor like a boss! I always love watching these because it's crazy to see someone else who had a similar time growing up as my friends and I back then. I also love how your work then and now has similar techniques used, just the evolved form. Even if you're not happy yet with how your work is changing, this isn't even your final form yet! I look forward to seeing what comes next 😌 So what if you've been doing a lot of neon lighting, it works for Misa Misa and you should do what makes you happy!!
who hasn’t been jealous of misa’s style at some point let’s be honest
Your art style is stunning, Ive been watching for a while now and you can really see how much you’ve grown
Thank youuu!
Not exhausting the two light sources! I think it’s become something that makes your work recognizable as yours. It’s so impressive. ❤️🔥
Oooh, i love the eyes on this one!!
Thanks Yana!

Glad you enjoyed the video! I do typically have music in the background but it's pretty quiet so as not to be too distracting haha

The fact I was just a year old when you made this 🫠

Thank you so much!! It makes me so sad to hear those kinds of stories about art teachers, but I'm so glad you're sticking to what you love!
loveee the lighting! the color choices are fantastic! Will you be making prints of this one?!?!?!?
Thanks so much!! I'm not sure actually, I'll think about it haha
Convinced every anime aware person born 1990-2002 had a Misa phase lol

Thanks so much for sharing!! Creating art is such a personal process and I'm so glad you've arrived in a good place with it!
