Back in the late 60's/early 70's Eley Grand Prix boxes depicted a GP cartridge on the front of the box and had a crimp closure. Every time i opened a box of 25 i couldn't resist have a good long sniff of the contents, that beautiful smell will stay with me forever. Happy days.
In Australia back in the day Winchester use to stamp the shot size on the overshot card in one bold number . My Dad always spoke well of Elely shot shells .
I prefer the Eley impax paper case 6,'s and Eley classic game 30gram no5's, paper case and fibre i traditional. Modern loads I use Eley Zenith. standard grand prix are a bit slow and the high pheasants are more omph in.
The 'Old' paper cartridges were dipped in a thin lacquer to stop water, or damp whilst in storage from swelling the paper. If you look at the head you can see the depth of the lacquer where the 'brass' hasn't tarnished. The RTO should be done on the same loading machine !
Hi. I'm not sure if Eley themselves still have them in stock, but we do still have them in stock. It would be a case of getting in touch with Eley stockists to see if they still have them available.

I’ve got one of these sitting in my gun cabinet here in Kentucky.

RTO can knacker patterns. The original GP had brass that length. Long brass is a relatively modern fad which came from clay shooting.
Not brass anyway, brass coated steel.
They are made of from age?
