My too, unlike most streamers Raxx got brain. Most of streamers havent ever had a job , all they do is play games. This guy had a job , He did excel analysis and statistics, he is good at math and logic.

The most important thing is FUN. This is the best feedback, and hopefully, the devs will continue to make things more fun. We don't want or need a chore or a boring job. We want FUN.
I don't care if leveling to 100 takes 10 hours or 20 hours if I having FUN whole time. Heck, I even up to SLOWER leveling!

@@Raxxanteraxthe hell tide argument doesn’t really make a lot of sense because you level up via the cinders exchange, right? So saving them just means you’ll be less leveled at the end, so there’s an offset.
Though I can understand what you mean by waiting turn in for the increased exp if you are a higher level, but you should also consider that if you turn in earlier you are also leveling faster to begin with thus increasing all the exp from the mobs during that same time. It probably equals out pretty well I'd bet without the risk of losing half your cinders if you derp.
That's what I was thinking as well. Choosing to turn in as you go will level you earlier which will make the mobs higher level which will get you more xp.
one thing to consider as well is the increased experience per level, not sure what the exact numbers are but depending on the actual formula of calculating xp per chest you may be getting like 2 bars of experience no matter what level you are
obviously the higher you go the longer it usually takes to progress through the level so saving cinders for the end of HT may help you, but then again at lower levels (sub 50 or so) you are leveling so fast that I'd probably just turn in asap and would not bother minmaxing that to save my brain from frying lol
I was confused to hear the words HELLTIDE and FUN in the same sentence. But I believe it, when Raxx says this.
@Raxx The biggest factor you forget to mention in Helltide leveling is because it`s an Open World activity. That means you can find other player killing monsters which will count as well for you (if you were close enough). So if you have a weak character you can leech some experience in that way.
While he didn't mentioned it in the video, he did put it in his sheet: "d. Follow others to team up and share rewards."
@@Scantahs ooh you right, didn`t checked his document. I`m always using helltides, vampiric zones etc to farm exp/gear and most important aspects I`m missing. WIthout other players it would be way harder.
I am actually looking forward to playing this again.

Thanks for the condensed leveling guide! I do the same thing for PoE builds each season. Make my spreadsheet, and then meticulously condense it down so it all fits on one screen. That way I can throw it on my other monitor and just blast.

That's pretty cool. Diablo 4 is still yet to surpass D3 in my book, but the "green helltide" in Season 2 was very fun activity during leveling. It was the only time that D4 got me hooked to a point where I almost missed an appointment due to that "just one more run" feeling lol

Spot on, helltides are absolutely awesome now! The surprise attacks when looting mats/chests, the worm that pukes up a ton of enemies, the boss event that everyone works together on, the timer that spawns waves of enemies and a miniboss, the fact that those stupid tortured souls or whatever they are don’t make you wait for the animation… it’s nuts. Can’t wait for this to drop in season.

I really like that leveling in Helltide is better. I tried the PTR and it is a ton of fun there. All the good stuff from S2, S3 went there. But I hope they boost the Nightmare dungeons too so it would be fun to level glyphs too. It would be really boring to lvl glyphs if I would rather play helltide than NMD. I think if they should add some kind of reward (eg. boss mat) when you lvl a glyph so it would be rewarding to do it.
You can also get the higher level items from Obol vendor, at level 11 I got a 702 power one handed sword

The only change I've wanted with helltides is not losing your cinders when you die, no one ever talks about it but in the season 2 blue helltide you never lost any keys or materials when you died and it felt great. I really hope now that so many new players are going into helltides in WT1 people will be giving feedback to blizzard to change cinders to not drop on death.
Need this update soon, twiddling thumbs in last epoch waiting for it.
Want to get back into this but...absolutely sick of running monoliths in LE and this is just more of the same. What kept me in this game was switching to hardcore and playing with friends. They had enough of this game (uninstalled it) and not on planning coming back. But it's good to see D4 dev team finally getting their s**t together. Have fun all! Great vid Raxx as always
Thank You! I never hated Diablo 4 and now season 4 should really shine. I can't wait to play it. I know I am in the minority but Last Epoch is not the end-all-be-all and I will be happy to have a Diablo that fixes most of the things I didn't like.

Thanks for the guide raxx, but I have 2 questions: 1 which chests should you be opening in the helltide? Should it always be the cheap ones or do the larger ones (living steel or mystery chest) give more exp? Question 2: when the helltide ends, what should we do in the 5 minute gap timer? Should we go to dopamine tunnels or do something else?
Speaking of getting godly new surprises, I had a unique 2H weapon drop for me at level 22 and I felt like I had just won WT2 lottery and blasted all the way to T3 with it!

Great Work! Thanks Raxx for all the time you put in! Can't wait to try it out. Leveling is always a pain but this sounds so much better. When you refer to "turning In' the shards, are you referring to opening chests in HT? Also are you saying to get your characters "Event" before doing HT?

In season 3, I will do few rounds of first half of capstone dungeon in tier 2 just to get level 40+ items, I'm gladed they streamlined this process!
I'm just hoping this doesn't flop, a part of me also wishes they just immediatelly moved the Aspect codex rework into Live before the season ends so it doesn't feel like a waste of time to grind them.
I don't even like blue so much as a color, but you are the exception. This is what I was seeing also and I thought the game was just bugged, actually I just expected it would be and salvaged the items lol. Hell Tide for sure is the way to go and way more fun than spamming the same dungeon over and over and over again.
That loot for the capstone is a cool idea but who really needs help killing the capstone bosses the whole game is just so easy even without gear
If there was other players around, when they pick up an item but their inventory is full, the item drops back on the ground for everyone else to pick up. It would explain the lvl gap of items. It has happened to uniques too.
One thing I didn’t check during the PTR is if you still lose embers if you die. If you do, be careful about saving them for the end.

speaking of surprises i had a cluster of treasure goblins (at least 5 grouped together) pop up in a dungeon yesterday that provided huge boost of legendaries, mats (including boss mats) and mendeln unique! Think this used to happen commonly in D3. Maybe yet another good carry over from D3?

For gear that drops way above your level; maybe it's a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I hope they reduce how often those drop, but make them power drops with lower level reqs. A really fun part of older ARPGs was getting super lucky and getting an insanely juiced item that just skyrockets your damage at lower levels. It's always fun and memorable when it happens. If that level 44 was like.. 10% weaker and had a level 30 requirement, you'd be super excited about that item - hitting level 30 would turn you into a killing machine. Lot of fun to be had with the right tweaking.
Agree with all but one point :D It is definitely not worth saving all cinders for the end of helltide. Its straight up slower, as everything scales with your level in terms of exp. Monsters give more exp at 24 than at 15, just like helltide chests do. The % exp of a level you get decreases for each level, despite the numerical exp increase. Getting 15k exp at 15 is not worse than 29k at 24. Everything else that provides exp, goes up by the same amount. You are better off getting those exp in asap when running past a chest, to level up faster to access new skill points, aswell as not holding several hundreds of cinders to possibly lose upon death. Most people play softcore and its faster to play a squishier build focused on damage and speed :)

Can't wait for season 4. I really enjoyed leveling my barb to 100 in season 3. The game just would not drop me the gear I needed to fully realise the build. Hopefully this is addressed. LET THE PEOPLE SMASH!

I think they need to adjust the paragon board yellow node stat requirements. With gear only rolling your main stat its much harder to meet those requirements for off stats.. gems and paragon stats dont quite cut it, they should either be lowered a bit or high main stat requirement and small secondary requirements

They know. It's in the KNOWN ISSUES list, has been there before PTR began.
I just picked this game up and i love it! Im level 53 and still havent finished the main storyine or the side quest lmao i jusr got my fisrt mount at 50!

Honestly, even if Helltide was within 5% of the time to level, I would do Helltide without question. I enjoy Nightmare dungeons, mostly because I just take the stuff I get and run them at random so there's a bit of mix to it. But Helltides are just really awesome to do.
So glad that HT is good for leveling from the start. will be able to do a lot of end game farming while leveling
In your leveling guide you advice to create a new character on World Tier 2.
It was commonly thought WT1 was more efficient and faster to level on, especially since gear doesnt matter much as its replaced in minutes.
Could you explain why you advice WT2?

actually excited for diablo 4 again, thank goodness. keep this up, blizz. make more kinds of changes like this, please. next? remove talent and paragon links, open up builds completely and add more hotbar slots.
3:35 hate to tell you, but that won't happen during season start. All of these items dropped while the level 100 druid was around in helltide. 3 of the items were already lying on the ground from him fighting stuff and the first item dropped when he killed a harbinger. You can see that in the video from the live stream at around 1:50:20.
That makes sense, because all the drops he gets are around level 45 because thats the highest, that can drop in WT2 and there won't be any level 100s around during season start.
Isn't this a little early? By the time Season 4 launches (middle of May), new strategies may be discovered and/or Blizzard will have altered things from the PTR.
Might be a neat idea if Blizzard made it so you can remove the level requirement (and account bind) yellows beginning in WT3 so you can easily gear and level alts. It would be a use for the yellows that drop in end game.
I had a really strong suspicion helltide was going to be best. That's great news because its always been just about my favourite part of the game.
Being able to just grind helltide for levels is super refreshing, especially for me as i only go in for souls and roses

İ think Tormented bosses should give you higher chance to obtain greater affix items so people will be more willing to kill them and burn their materials
My strat is to dungeons to unlock build enablers on WT1, then bump to WT2 and roll with the tide. I really hope that higher level loot drops isn't "fixed" if it is a bug.
I love your dedication to this... but I've never had an issue hitting 100... it's an inevitability in D4... but now I'll probably be hitting WT4 2 days sooner 😅

Raxx, I picked up a couple sacred yellows in hellfire in WT2. I was at level 22-23.
Raxx, do you have a POV on the helltide chests for the rework? On launch the strategy was to loop events and only get the tortured gift of mysteries. Are we incentivized to open any chest now to try and get the summon material for the helltide world boss?
