Thanks 👍 Yeah was fun out there
Another great fishing video again Alan. Love your work. 👌👍
Thanks 👍 so much !!
Great video Alan, might get some
Thanks !!
Wow! I just ordered this soft plastic today! So unreal! I bought the the hidden weight jig head to go with it. Super pumped to try it when it arrives
Awesome, they work great with the HWS jig heads. Not the most durable but they catch plenty.
Did you have sinkers on as well? It looked like it when you were reeling in. Something just up the line a bit.
A few fish were also caught on bait. You'll notice more towards the end of the vid both lee and I caught a few using bait which was on a standard single paternoster rig.
Hi Alan, new to fishing in Melbourne. Where do you recommend that I fish around this season from inland? I tried St Kilda pier and Williamstown Pier with soft plastics and haven't had any luck recently.
The fishing is a bit challenging right at the moment as the water temperature is very cool around 11 degrees so much patience is needed. I've been seeing good fish still caught at Sandringham, Geelong waterfront, Lorne to name a few.
Entertaining as always. So you don't reel it in like a regular soft plastic lure? You just let it sit on the bottom?
For KG Whiting, i work the soft plastics very slowly. That tends to work better especially during winter
have you tried running the line thru the worm, and hooking a treble into the worm leaving 2 barbs out,2 thirds down the worm, and a running ball sinker up front ??, stinger hooks ,i find are too much mucking around, and if your a bit older and your fingers arent what they were.......
Yes that also works really well, but you need a threading needle to set it up correctly, but can also work with great effect
Question would you use a loop knot on jerkshad instead of uni knot?
No i only use loop knots or clips when fishing with lures that have bibs and trebles. For any type of soft plastic and jig head I tie uni straight to the jig head
Alan guess what I caught my very first carp and it was a massive one. I wish we can put photos in the messages. It was pretty much over forty centimit is going bigger. man it was heavy. Is there any ways to post a photo. 😊
Wow that's amazing. FishingMad has a Facebook group page with 13K members, its the perfect place to post pics of your catches. facebook.com/groups/231048470580370 is the link. Cheers
Hi, love watching your videos, I'm new to fishing and want to take my son fishing for bream etc, can you recommend place to go that is not too far from Melbourne. thanks
Heaps of bream on the Maribyrnong river. Plenty of our vids on the channel show what to do. If ya need a link let me know
@@fishingmad thanks so much for the info , could you please adv me a location that will be greatly appreciated.
Where you buy the double jigs for extra hook
I had them custom made by On the Edge lures, I'm pretty they sell them as a standard product on their website now.
What do you do with all the fish that you keep? Give it to friends? freeze it? Or do you just have one large cook-up!
I took home 10 whiting and 5 squid. Was perfect amount for a family dinner. I never take more then I need unless I'm stocking up on some extra bait.
Nice video Alan how do you use the lure
Where do you buy the jig head with the assist hook loop?
Also love to know Alan
So you decided to use the can of worms for bait 😂
Where can i buy these type of soft plastic for whiting?
Berkley gulp fat hollow sandworms, or turtlebacks they are sold at most tackle stores, the jig custom jig heads are sold by on the edge lures. Thanks
I just got this plastic look to try it out how do u use it do u jig it retrieve it or just use it like bait
Just work it slowly. Lifts every 15-20 seconds. Fish love to hit it as its sitting on the bottom or sinking to the bottom. There are some soft plastic instructional vids on the channel which might be helpful for you.
@@fishingmadthanks man
what color are the worms?
Camo
Hey Alan where about is this
Fished from geelong to St leonards that day. that whole stretch is excellent
Not when I throw them they dont
🙋♂️
1 fish per plastic and its a whiting which are not really known for their teeth. Thats a big no for your average fisherman.
I bet the end of the day was a switch to bait mostly because you had ran out of these hollow soft plastics.
Yeah, were very honest in all the vids we do. I said several times in the video that they were not durable. I caught at least 20 KG Whiting using the fat hollow sandworm soft plastics and went through about 3 packets
