Heya, do you have recomendations for someone with no science school background who finds chemistry impossibke? I'm having to do premed uni papers for a non-med degree (nutrition), there has been many tears even for non chem focused papers, but I don't understand chem when it's mentioned (doesn't help I had a brain injury years ago that makes memorizing/learning stuff like uni content much harder then for the average person. I have to pass a pure chemistry paper on the living world" which even those with 7th form chem at highschool struggle with, I honestly don't know how I'm going to manage 😭
Hello! First of all well done :) Chemistry is a challenging subject - no one (and I really do mean no one) ever finds it completely easy and straightforward. My biggest piece of advice would be to keep going back to basics - all the time, even if it feels silly or embarrassing (it isn't either of those things). Buy a good textbook for the level below the level you are learning or being examined on. This may seem strange, but textbooks and websites aimed at lower levels of chemistry explain key words and terms that more advanced textbooks and websites don't bother to explain (they just assume you know it). In my experience as a teacher of many years(!), it is often small misunderstandings on key terms or words that can cause massive confusion and frustration with the more advanced topics.
