Hello - We can via Hetman Raid Recovery recover data from 3HDD from 4HDD (RAID5) from Qnap when one of the HDD is Damage and second HDD from 3HDD working has different XOR ?

Hetman RAID Recovery is a data recovery software that specializes in recovering data from various RAID configurations, including RAID 5. RAID 5 uses striping with parity across multiple drives to provide redundancy and data protection. In a RAID 5 configuration, if one drive fails, the data can be rebuilt using the parity information stored across the remaining drives.
In the scenario you described, where you have a RAID 5 configuration with three functioning HDDs and one damaged HDD, it is possible to use Hetman RAID Recovery to recover data. The software can analyze the remaining working drives and reconstruct the data from the damaged drive using the parity information and XOR calculations.
However, it's important to note that the success of data recovery depends on various factors, including the extent of the damage to the damaged HDD and the availability of accurate parity information. It's recommended to follow the instructions provided by Hetman RAID Recovery and consult their support team if you encounter any issues during the recovery process.
Additionally, it's crucial to ensure that you have a backup of your important data to avoid data loss in case of RAID failures or other unforeseen circumstances. Regularly backing up your data is a good practice to protect against data loss.

I have a question that I can't find the answer to, I hope you can help - I have a QNAP NAS that has failed. The hard drives are fine and I believe all the data is intact, but the actual NAS motherboard has died and it is expensive to fix. Is there a way to recover the data off my drives without using a QNAP NAS unit? I'm on a MAC - Thanks

Yes, you can recover data from QNAP hard drives without using the QNAP NAS device itself. Here are some steps you can follow:
Connect the hard drives to your computer: You can use an external enclosure or a special adapter to connect your hard drives to your computer via a USB or SATA interface. Make sure your computer recognises the discs.
Use data recovery software: There are several data recovery software that work on the macOS platform. For example, Data Rescue, Disk Drill, TestDisk, or PhotoRec can scan your hard drives and recover lost files. Choose the application that best suits your needs and follow the instructions to recover your data.
Save the recovered data to another storage device: After you have successfully recovered your data, it is recommended that you save it to another storage device, such as an external hard drive or cloud storage. This will help prevent data loss in case of further problems with the original hard drives.
It is important to note that the success of data recovery may depend on the condition of the hard drives and possible file system corruption.

    I have 2 questions:
    1) Can I discover what the RAID structure was based on 1 HDD?
    2) Is it possible to recover the folder structure (that was on the RAID HDDs) as well?

      @HetmanRecovery  Рік тому

Discovering the RAID structure based on just one HDD can be challenging. RAID configurations typically involve striping, mirroring, or parity schemes across multiple drives. Each drive in a RAID array holds only a portion of the overall data, along with some additional information (such as parity or redundancy). Without access to the other drives in the array or the configuration information, it can be difficult to determine the exact RAID structure.
However, there are some techniques and software tools available that can analyze the data on a single drive and provide insights into the potential RAID configuration. These tools often utilize heuristics, algorithms, or data patterns to make educated guesses about the RAID structure. While they may not guarantee a precise reconstruction, they can provide some useful information that can assist in the recovery process.
Recovering the folder structure from a RAID array is generally possible during the data recovery process. When using specialized RAID recovery software or services, the goal is to reconstruct the original file and folder structure as accurately as possible.
Data recovery software typically scans the RAID drives, identifies file fragments, and attempts to piece them together to rebuild the file and folder hierarchy. The success of recovering the folder structure depends on various factors, including the extent of data corruption, the effectiveness of the recovery software, and the availability of metadata and directory information.
It's important to note that the success of both RAID structure discovery and folder structure recovery may vary depending on the specific circumstances, the quality of the recovery tools used, and the level of damage or complexity involved in the RAID array. In complex cases or situations where data is severely damaged, it may be necessary to consult professional data recovery services with expertise in RAID recovery.

Great video! Will this work for a RAID 5 array that has 3 of 4 disks intact? Is there a way to use your software via a boot USB, like Hirens etc? I haven't had much luck with other software, but yours looks very intuitive. I was able to extract some info on the array from another program, so I'm hoping that'll help me with recovery. Any help is appreciated!

You can scan your files with the free version of Hetman Partition Recovery, Hetman RAID Recovery. It will show you the files it can find to recover. The preview window will show you whether your files are damaged or not.
If all is well, you will be able to log in and recover your files.
