This board and review reminded me of the Nitro Beast. How would you compare them and which one would you pick at the end of the day?
Thanks TJ
Can you do a review of the 2024 K2 Hypnotist?
Awesome you made it out to Aspen Snowmass. I'm up there everyday of the season and will be hoping to see you up there!
I would really like to see a review of the Burton Elite 1987. Can’t find any info anywhere. Great vid here as always!
Don’t have a Huck knife but wonder how you tune the edges? With the edge being set over 90 and at multiple different angles it doesn’t sound easy
Would love to see you test out either the assassin pro or the louif
Think you'll ever do a Marhar lumberjack again? I think it's been tweaked quite a bit since you reviewed it.
Can you please review the solomon assassin 2025? Would be appreciated.
Hey TJ! Would you be able to do a review or comparison with the Nitro Team Pro?
Begging for a review on the Bataleon x Beyond Medals 2024 🙏🙏
Will you be doing a regular Huckknife review? I’m looking to get one and would like your insight!
i bought the base 2024 huck knife and i love the board. Its flexible enough for some good butters but still stiff enough for good pop and feels good when landing jumps and onto rails. One of my favorite boards and the design is clean and sleek.
@@thomasvillareale9440what about sizing? I have a us7.5mens foot (25.5cm mondo) and 140lbs, do you think I will fit on it?
How do you know which is the nose and tail?
Great Video! This or the super DOA, what would you pick?
Im not TJ, but it really depends on what you want. The Super DOA is going to be a bit (more on the side of slightly) stiffer. Going to allow you to power through carves and chunder. The Huck Knife is going to be a little bit softer, meaning easier to press (both are not great board for presses) Easier to land/maneuver and slightly more forgiving. The Huck knife pro will probably be slightly better in the park, while the Super DOA will be a better all mountain board.
TLDR, Huck Knife pro if you find yourself riding the park more often, or get the Super DOA if you enjoy cruising/carving more. Both will do the same things well, just one has the edge in park, and the other in all mountain riding.
Personally i love to high speed carve, i like stiffer boards that eat through chunder. The Solomon Ultimate ride has the same profile as the huck knife (their quad camber profile) its just a bit stiffer and has a slight directional stiffness. its a twin, but not true twin. Hopefully this gave you some info to use.
@@xe2014did your ride both boards?? I did and the HK pro is a lot stiffer than the Super DOA! Fuethermore, the SuperDOA is more easy to ride - the HKpro is really a superb board for the Freestyle/Park guy who wants to ride at full speed on the largest features - all the other ones - get the SuperDOA - a lot more easy to ride and just a better Do It All Style Board :)
@@stephprimeYo, you are right, im pretty sure i rode the huck knife, not the pro now that you brought it up. Is the pro a lot stiffer than the normal huck knife?
@@stephprimeAnd, if the huck knife pro is stiffer, whats different about the huck knife pro and the ultimate ride? Just that the ultimate ride is slightly directional?
@@xe2014 yes the HKpro feels a lot stiffer than the normal HK - I tested the Ultime Ride as well and found it to be more similar to the huck knife Pro than the normal Huck Knife but it kind of sits in between - if I could pick one of those three - for me I pick the HKpro because it is the most aggressive one - but there is one thing I do not like about Salomon Boards: they have kind of an indirect feeling when carving on the edge, they feel grippy but in some kind super damp which I do not like - but that is just some personal preference 😅
Not to nitpick but Salomon's website states the WW of the HK pro in 156 at 255mm, not 253. Cool review tj.
Nah u nitpickin 😂
@floccgotti7095 sure, but having the right info for potential buyers is important. I'll accept your derision and stand by my comment bud.
REVIEW THE SALOMON ABSTRACT NEXT PLS
How much does the board weight? I not a very stronger person for leg strength so I need a lighter board, would the pro or the base model be lighter?
The Pro has less swing weight so u can throw it around better , BUT it is stiffer so u gonna have to work a bit for it
I'm confused with the statement that the width is the limiting factor for carving. Can someone explain it to me?
I think he means that having more width in a board would be better for carving in general because it can reduce heels and toes drag. But it depends on the size of your boots
Is snowboard recommended weight range before or after gear?
before.
Real quick question, but did the HK need a pro version? Why not make the original versions obsolete and push all riders on to it
One is more jibby the other more slope style more stiff kinda park board… I get what your saying but I guess it’s for whatever style park board u want.. they will happily take your money lol
How do you think it compares to the Free Thinker from Burton? I’ve asked a few people that have had huck knifes in the past and they’ve said the free thinker was always stiffer, but last year everyone said the Burton got less aggressive…
if you are comparing the free thinker to the huck knife Pro currently its not that the freethinker got less aggressive but the Huck knife Pro got stiffened up big time is the 22/23 season and has stayed as stiff ever since the curret huck knife is the stiffness of the old huck knife pro (21/22 season) and they don't make a board that feels liks the 21/22 huck knife any more as far as im aware hope that clears it up
@@zhuyuchen8324 ohhhh interesting. I have a free thinker and a process and I’ve been debating replacing my process for something a bit shorter but about the same overall feel. In other words, something around the same size or just shorter than my free thinker (160) that’s a little more flexy/buttery
Dancehaul next please!
I second this request !
I like this board but to me it’s sorta a noodle. Same with the custom, they are a lot softer than they used to be. But still fine for park, i like the 160
So u say they a bit softer than what everyone makes it seem to be , I feel the same way about boards as well
I dont have enough juice for this board.
One of the worst and over rated boards I ever rode have every model from the last three years and they just keep getting worse
Personally as a park rider it’s been my favorite board all around I don’t use the pro tho
Why do you keep buying them then?
Probably to see if they've been improved from the previous year??
@@MissMartianDCAUusing emotion to bet lol his fault
Bro I think I just suck at snowboarding lol
