      There were so many blatant eye pokes I was actually worried he might end up like Bisping. It could've ended up being a career ending injury. But, as I said on another comment - D.C. learned first hand from the greatest eye poker of all time, Jonny Bones.

      @@jamesdjl4359 It was ridiculous. DC should be disqualified at some point. In their 3rd fight DC eyepoked him in the 1st f@@@in round. Stipe poked him once in the 3rd fight but after everything he's been through in 3 fights can we blame him? He got surgery ffs. His retina or whatever that's called would be gone. Nothing beats Stipe vs DC here. Stipe is eye poked throughout their first fight, including going into the clinch that led him to not be able to see the shot that knocked him out. So DC took his belt and made him have to get eye surgery. Then, in the rematch, DC is thouroughly getting the better of Stipe, partially because he is using the same eye poking tactics. And suddenly, Stipe switches it up, landing body shots, which hurt and distract DC enough to leave his head open. Stipe capitalizes and tko's DC. The he decisively beats DC in the trilogy fight. Just too good of a story

    My favorite revenge story is definitely Cain. I remember that being televised and going to my brother's house to watch. Me being a huge Cain fed of course led my brother to take the side of JDS and I had to hear so much trash leading up to it for it to play out and Cain go down. It didn't deter me in saying he was still the best heavyweight and the two rematches absolutely shut my brother up. Anyone can land one solid punch to end a fight but to watch someone beaten to a pulp leaves no doubts.

    I wouldn't call izzy's performance against alex dominating , sure he was winning 3-1 going into the 5th but all rounds were close even the round alex won and if he didn't get the tko , alex would've lost 3-2 which isn't domination ( obviously anything could've happened in the last 2 min ) so yeah i'd just say it was a close fight from beginning to end where izzy fought smarter for 20 minutes and alex came determined to get the finish out and actually did

    I love Izzy but im not sure about him being #1. 3-1, 1-1 in the UFC. Alex trained the dude who recently beat him and beat Jan, he also had way more success in Kickboxing than Izzy. I would've placed Cain vs JDS at first cause Cain got it back twice, one more brutal than the other, then DC vs Stipe and then Izzy vs Pereira.

    • @aleksandrilarionov6545
      @aleksandrilarionov6545 Рік тому +5

      Agree, I think it deserves a spot on the list but not that high, I was surprised that Izzy beat Alex, I don't like Izzy but he had the skill and talent to beat Alex, in fact, its surprising that Alex won even once, its MMA, a sport where Izzy had dominated his weight class, and yes Pereira had masterclass kickboxing, but I thought because Izzy had 2 chances being as talented as he was, and still not being able to grab it, I thought there wasn't a chance anymore but he proved me wrong.
      Anyway I think that's it for Izzy with the way Strickland handled him, I think he's got Rocky 3 syndrome, he's made enough money and you could tell some of his last fights he didn't even want to be there, he doesn't seem to be invested in the training and fight, maybe this loss will wake him up, make him train properly, who knows

    • @jackgonahieu4999
      @jackgonahieu4999 Рік тому +4

      @@aleksandrilarionov6545 Agree, it very well could be the money or the fact that he finally got one on Pereira. Imo rather than lack of motivation, his loss to Strickland showed that he can't adjust on the fly, he lacks FIQ and adaptability. For example Stipe was losing the second fight against DC till he adjusted, Izzy couldn't do that, he relies too much on his training camps. If there are "company men" then theres also "gym men" and he is the best example of that. Even the ko shot against Pereira was drilled countless of times during his camp and he tried to catch him with it a lot of times before he finally did. Im stealing the "Rocky 3 syndrome" term tho lol.

      @QO-id3yt Рік тому +1

      I’m on the fence about the placement personally, but that’s a fair point. I think it might be a mix of recently bias, combined with one of the best post fight celebrations in recent memory. And Izzy broke the mold by defeating his own personal boogie man, which is an accomplishment in itself. I really wish he would have retired after the second Alex fight would have been the perfect high note to end an incredible career. I’m still a fan but really don’t wanna see a second Strickland fight, at least not for a while.

    3:45 fact checking/writing team should considering firing off a message to either figgy’s or Brandon’s team in these instances as i think it might be really interesting to have them outright confirm if there was a contractual triggering of a rematch. I’ve thought about this also as a way to spice up and add a lot of authority to these without a ton of work - just silly reaching out for confirmation as they or a press team might add comment you can use or an anecdote given the size of this channel.
    This coming from the perspective of addressing a lot of reactions after rematches are announced talking about whether it’s deserved, will it even happen what it shouldn’t etc. when in reality none of that matters bc for a champion who has defended multiple times, they have a rematch clause there’s zero doubt about it. They can choose to not activate that of course but I think it might help people understand certain decisions. For instance I don’t think there’s a question whether Izzy was able to negotiate a rematch clause with Sean if he wants it. No point in waffling with it. But Sean having never defended if he loses, I doubt there’s a trilogy if it’s a stoppage. Or more interesting might be Leon. If he loses to Colby, I have a feeling he’s been a bit of a headache for Dana (not commenting on my specific opinion just of the situation). I could kinda see him getting snubbed an automatic rematch mechanism. And that’s a piece of the insider baseball that’s very very interesting. To me atleast. N of 1, disregard at your discretion of course.

      There's simply no time to make this kind of investigations into these regular list-type videos, however looking into these types of clauses in fighter contracts might make for an interesting deeper dive video that they do now and then.

    I think #1 is now Alex training Sean to dust up Izzy, y'all are coping and trying to cover for Izzy putting him at #1, dude is now 1 and 3 against Pereira, thats not revenge, that's a drop in the bucket and Pereira just beat the guy Izzy couldn't beat. Normally you guys have the right opinions but then you do clown ass shit like this and also putting 2 steroid cheats at the top of the GOAT list.

      @@hunterdamajikk8639 Exactly. If anything Alex should be #1 for over-avenging the single loss he has to Izzy. MMA on point is a great channel but they're coping HARD after Sean smashed their boy, I mean they only put his upset of Izzy in the bottom 5 of the greatest upsets of all time, you fuckin serious? Literally 0 people who didn't know Sean picked him and it wasn't a fluke either like Matt Sera/GSP. Everyone knew GSP was the better fighter even after that, but Sean straight up outclassed Izzy. Gynodogbender BTFO, MMAOP is on permanently cope.
