  • Follow Gracie and Sapphire for the whole day, waking up, on their walks, food time, nap time and playtime. They take a lot of entertaining so we thought you could come along too.
    Our History
    We were only getting one puppy, Gracie but then fell in love with Sapphire, Saffy for short and couldn't let her go. Mum is a black and tan and Dad is a chocolate dapple. Gracie is a silver dapple and Saffy is a silver dapple with white. We are fully aware of double dapple issues but she was not bred from two dapples and is very healthy so far. We would not breed from her either.
    I will be doing twice weekly videos on their progress and training and any new and fun things they get up to. Subscribe to support the channel and thanks for watching!

    Hello Babies and Momma, This video 📹 of the Babies put a BIG SMILE in My Heart. Bella, Gracie and Saffy did so well running around the Countryside and jumping up/down on those stones. Their walking seems like they improved with those Beautiful Coats. I'm Your biggest fan all 3 Babies. Thanks Momma Enjoyed and Blessings 🙏❤️🥰😇🐕 From Pennsylvania,USA

    Hello Gracie, Saffy & Bella! It's so good to see you, especially running the beautiful Yorkshire hills. I've always dreamed of going there. I'm liking the Halti leads more & more, they get the best results. Have a good day, stay warm & I'm looking forward to seeing you all again ❤️🐾🐾❤️

    Love seeing your young dachshunds. Our male mini is 15 1/2 and still quite spry. He is survivor from our pair of brothers from a different mother. He does spend lots of time sleeping in his Kelty low camp chair with cushion steps and thick blanket. His walks are about 100 yards now before he wants to return home. As I write, he is currently taking a break from the winter temperatures and sitting outside in the sun on the deck. Thanks

      Mine are currently sitting in the sun too after their walk and breakfast, 15 and 1/2 is just excellent, love hearing about other dachshunds doing so well, thanks for watching x

      Thank you, they are extremely loving and definitely need lots of time. Gracie is quite reactive and protective but still trainable and this is normal for the breed. Hard work as puppies but much easier now, thanks for watching x

    Just adorable 😍 I am collecting my new dashhound puppy Friday a little nervous as it's been awhile since I had a puppy..my precious westie Freddie passed over the rainbow 🌈 1.5yrs he was 15yrs old he was like my child .only now ready to commit to another soul.
    Can I ask how long do you walk your dogs??
    I walk everyday for about 1 hr & 20mins I'm assuming that's to long for a miniature dashhound!!!!
    I want to feed him raw also as more nutrient dense rather than processed crap kibble..what do you feed your little ones ..love your videos your dogs are living their best life 🤍🤍🤍

    • @gracieandsapphire
      @gracieandsapphire  Рік тому +1

      Hi, yes, when the dogs are young you really have to restrict their walking but now they can easily go for an hour, I probably wouldn't push it too much more unless they had a good rest. Sapphire would quite happily go for a two hour walk but it's just too much in my opinion. The raw food diet works really well, I cover it in this video below. Best of luck with your new one, they are extremely loving and really enjoy our company xx

    Are they reactive to guests or other dogs and humans when out and about

    • @gracieandsapphire
      @gracieandsapphire  Рік тому

      Gracie is very reactive and we have been working hard to help improve her. Saffy is pretty good and very friendly. Gracie is basically scared and barks but she has improved with cars, joggers, people walking and cyclists, now it's just other dogs. Give us another year and we may get there! Xx

      @@gracieandsapphire my Gypsy is a rescue. She’s 3. We’ve had her 10 months now. She was very reactive. I hired a trainer right away. I’ve made progress. She’ll never be 100% because of her age and rehearsing for that length is of time. But I must celebrate the positives she’s has made.

    • @gracieandsapphire
      @gracieandsapphire  Рік тому

      @zsazsak879 Yes, we did puppy classes, hired a trainer, followed other advice and training styles, nothing worked brilliantly, just time and patience x

    Do we have to keep them in the crate all night ? I thought that is for puppies only

    • @gracieandsapphire
      @gracieandsapphire  Рік тому

      Mine love their crate at night but it's completely up to you. Gracie would be up all night and bark at things if she was in our bedroom. Bella sleeps in my daughters room completely fine so it's definitely your choice but dogs naturally sleep in very small dens at night hence their crates are super cosy and dark. If they weren't happy I would try other options but we have a camera on them at night and they sleep very well.

    I noticed that you are letting them jump up and down off stuff without ramps. Isn’t it bad for their backs to let them do that?

    • @gracieandsapphire
      @gracieandsapphire  Рік тому

      This is a personal choice, I do have steps on the sofa and I would never let them jump off the bed plus they were heavily restricted till about 8 months old. Studies suggest letting them develop the muscles plus movement squeezes the part between the vertebrae keeping it healthy when they do apply force to it. I let them jump within reason but keep vigilant for any sign of injury or soreness x
