so this is what a group project without that one person who does everything looks like
The one person who does everything is called a dev
@@kinsou3865 dev group
group projects look fun but when they ask me what im good at and im like
dude jst tell me what to do
(i've never worked in a group before and do everything by myself)
@@Kenishurapersonally prefer doing every coding by myself, not that I do not trust my group's skill but Im just too lazy to learn their code. Only downside of that is I have to explain everything when time comes, and they wont get the same scores.
@@lordsubl1me yeah it sounds hard to work with a group of coders unless its jst 2 people
when models and designs and the other develops
thats much easier
This video taught me that having the ability to make a game doesn't mean you won't encounter skill issues
321 likes and no comments let me fix that

it looked off so i had to fix the ratio

This channel is the embodiment of "oooh he just like me fr fr" but for game devs
Always prepare to presentations. "What we did" and "What we learned" because sometimes someone makes your project but 100 times better and they present moments before you. In those cases the real game is the friends you made along the way. Agile is all about pivoting.
You think thats bad? we decided to do it with 5, 3D ARTIST AND ONLY 2 DEVS ''it went bad''
For this jam, we were 3 FREA**ING DEVS! If the design is bad, it's not a problem, it's a
Hi everyone, I hope you enjoy this chaos :)
Chaos is just the beginning :P
A legend is back with a great video
I enjoyed it. Cheers.
Launch it on steam for 500 bucks. Someone's finna buy it for sure lol
W video
idk what's funnier
"24 conflicts, holy moly"
or
The artists going on strike multiple times and then making memes about themselves striking!
i'll let you in on a little secrete.
people who regularly partake in gamejams have 90% of their code per-written so they can just copy paste it into their idea.
there is so much difference between games not. so if you have a large library of previous projects you can copy most of your work from there.
Why would you compete in a gamejam if you were just pasting
@@lorcanzo2498 It makes sense. Like imagine you already have a perfect fps controller from your previous projects. Why would you make another one instead of copy pasting the old code
@@stickguy9109 I understand that but then why compete in a timed challenge if one person would have to work much more to reach the same point as another
@@lorcanzo2498 It's life someone's always better than you
pasting is recommended and still it doesn't avoid obstacles @@lorcanzo2498 , the same way we don't invent a new computer using binary and such because we need prefabs everywhere in life

This looks like it was a fun experience for y'all!! Welcome to the gamedev community btw :)
- yeah, git is awful when it comes to gamedev, lol -
Well it's better than hackerrank and shit🤣🤣🤣🤣

Unity.
Well that gave me some terrible flashbacks.
it is my dream to find a friend group like this and make a game w/ them
Same. I hope i will when i start school in the fall
Can we be friends!?

Oh, ive been to a similar in person game jam event (tho it was 40h) with a team of 3 (2 programmers, 1 audio).. we barely sleept (on the floor, bout 2-3h in total) didn't leave the building for 40h straight ... but we got 1st place 💀worth it
Honestly this is why I try to be an all star, make my own msuic, art, maps and code
Of course even so it's not easy...
ehh your sound design team stole that music for the game, it's from "(Mother Earth's) Plantasia -- Mort Garson (1976) Full Album"
I thought it was!
I'm grateful for this video.
Thanks for sharing your humanity, for describing this condition in such a clear way. (I'm also heavyly depressive at times and it's great to have an insight on it)
Hope you get through it.
I loved this video! Keep making awesome stuff Mults!
this was one UA-cam video I can say I laughed
oh nice that this is in my recommendation again. This is the video that inspired me to learn game dev (again) and participate in game jams. I join 2 jams, wanted to join the 3rd, but burn out happened. No regrets! Learned a lot, it was fun. Reading nice comments and feedbacks are always uplifting.
top tier vid, i subscribed and clicked the sponsor link, *insert vpn name* was soo coool
Before i watch the whole thing i just wanna say that the editing looks epic and im just on the beginning!!
5:02 sonic and the black knight music, very respectable
edit: all the music choice is great
"forgor to save the scene" is constantly occurring in my git commits
You don't know how much I love to see small informal teams making stuff together lol it's so funny, no matter what they're making
This makes me enter a game jam with my best friend
buddy literally just did a loose remix of Plantasia by Mort Garson
This is funny asf! Doing something like this would be so fun, its making me wish i had dev friends lmaoo
i feel falling into the math trap so hard 💀especially with quaternions, those are a nightmare
The fact that there was monogatari and steins gate music in this video automatically makes it a 10/10

Great vid btw 😎👌
"we just assumed we could merge everything and it would all work" and 100 other jokes we tell ourselves...

neat, great video and game :)
Hahaha bro, we participated on the same game jam and had same idea. We didn't finish the game because we overcomplicated it. 😢😂
For a first game, you guys did well
I want to be a game dev and don't even know anything about asset design, and it looks, like the most important part.

what uni do u go to ? great vid
This is the Triumph of the Human Spirit!
I'm fewer than 40 seconds in and my guess is that you didn't establish a proper leader, a person whose vision to which everyone else needed to conform, and this created either in-fighting, or an inability to make concrete decisions in a feasible time-frame, or both.
Of course they didn't. They were doing this for the lulz of it. You know, like a pack of buddies tend to.
Not everything in life has to be taken 100% seriously.
Which gamejam in Sweden was this? I’m currently living in Gothenburg and would love to participate in one of these.
10 years as a professional and i still have issues with rotations.
Yes, they are a bit more complex, with symmetries and scales and stuff, but it's still rotations.
you should always fetch the develop branch before adding new code to your branch. this way the dev that made the code solves the conflict. and you will have no problem.
should be a series :0
LA MA QUINA NO FUNCION ADA
Bro sold it to me by playing DOOM in bg.
This Guy: 48 hours, no experience. Done.
Me: 4 months, some experience. Help, I am stuck in the fifth level.
(I will ignore the group size for comedic reasons)
Edit: Ah, ya me sonaba el "acento" familiar. Yep, se nota que no hablan ingles de lengua materna.
music is too loud compared to speech, but I had a laugh xD
keep it up please :3
idk u but i liked ur video because avatar tla is ur favorite show
classic gamdev moment
I like how the most replayed part of the video is after the ad 💀.
average hackathon experience
where did you work, place looks nice but not like someone's home. ı find it difficult to find places to do group projects.
Two group that decided that creating roots is fun?? Whaat?)
Wait what? Are you from Sweden? SO COOL!
If it makes you feel any better my team did a very similar idea but worse for that game jam.
you guys are great!!!!!XD
Wait i thought 48 hours is 2 days... Nice. Also it was not chaotic it was beautiful.
at least the editing style is flamemojis
omg this video gives life
i feel your pain. im making a game for my friends birthday i have like 3 days left now. (im bad at coding)
How did you use java with unity?
Real Gothenburger

I feel a lil better with myself now
I'm so glad im not alone lol
POLSKA GUROOM

Yoo I joined the global Game Jam this year and I won in my city with the team I got assigned
bad bully 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯
4 hours setting up git and downloading unity sounds about right
POLAND MOUNTAIN
Error no 1:
- not using GODOT for a jam.
I was very confused when starting with godot so I just went with unity cuz its easier.
THE SPANISH PART HAHAHAHAHAHAH
nice video lol
ohhhhhhh steins;gate
I wrote Flappy Bird in 90 MINUTES solo
the most replayed part of the video is the end of the adblock 💀💀💀
That what I'm saying!
dude i am so proud that the programmer is turkish!
OMgggg i was on this jam !!! it was verry fun c:::
That's really cool! It was pretty fun indeed hahaah
Looks like you had a fun time.
Do you have a Discord server Mults?
I cant remember how many games I have ruined because of git. The easiest thing you can do is make a gitignore file and a gitattributes file. Will save a lot of space from the project and make conflicts rare(er)
i saw this before editing so first
Well, its seems like you learn a few things with this experiencie, but the most important is DONT USE GIT WITH UNITY IF PEOPLE ARE GONNA WORK ON THE SAME FILES, ONLY FOR NEW THINGS LIKE SCRIPTS,SCENES, OBJECTS AND SOUNDS, there are better program for unity than git (plastic scm for example)
1:47 that’s true🗿🗿🗿🗿
Mmmm yes, kizumonogatari soundtracks
5:03 day 3? 48 hours? something is wrong here
