    I admire the spout geometry that won't dribble down the pot. In exterior trim on houses I call a similar detail a drip off. I Love watching your work.

      when i was 15yrs old, i tried committing suicide. i took 20 pills. i was so close to death. my whole body swelled up. i got bumps all over my body. my throat was startin to close up and i could barely even breathe. i knew i was seconds away from death. i was gasping for air. i got scared and regretted it right away. i wished ive never done it. for the first time in my life, i cried out to God and told him i dont wanna die. i jus need help. plz help me. plz help me. i wept. within seconds, i felt this warmth, love and peace surround me. i knew for a fact it was God. within seconds, he healed my whole body. i could breathe. swelling was gone. he instantly delivered me from suicidal thoughts and depression after strugglin with it for 6yrs. psychiatrists and psychologists and takin their medicine never helped. the only thing that WORKED was when i cried out to God and asked him for help. he instantly saved me and delivered me and performed miracles on me. he gave me a new outlook on life. for once in my life i actually wanted to live and not die. that was something odd for me cuz for 6yrs i wanted to die so bad. my mom had cancer and shes the reason why i tried taking my life cuz i didnt wanna lose her. i lost her at 16yrs old and lost my dad at 17yrs old. i didnt kno Jesus until i was 24 n a half yrs old. im 25 now n my relationship with Jesus is so strong. hes helped me change into a whole diff person. ppl actually see the miraculous change in me. if it wasnt for Jesus, id be dead right now. The only healer u need is Jesus. hes our healer. Go to Jesus for healing. im living proof 😊💖 Jesus loves u😊💖 he wants u to repent and forsake ur sins, be born again and place ur faith n trust in him. start havin a personal relationship with Jesus and obey him 😊💖

    some people were concerning about how he used a lot of water or wondering if its necessary
    its not necessary to use this much water, but its not bad either, hes very skillful so that makes it easier n faster for him (more would make it floppy n weak but not this much)
    its does not make the pot weak because he wiped away the water n he would leave it out to dry for at least a day before putting it in the kiln, the end result would be a strong tea pot as any others

      Um... it would take more then a day for drying.... you can't dry too fast or it will Crack.
      Depending on what clay he used and how thick the pot is determines how long the drying process takes. It must be completely dry in order for it to be in the kiln. Depending in the thickness it can take up to two days or more.

    Hello Folks.
    Believe me, a spout shaped like this pours perfectly.
    In fact it has an inbuilt anti-dribble mechanism in it's design.
    If you look at the end of the spout the flute actually makes it impossible for any liquid to dribble back down the outside as it would have to run up hill to do so,unlike a straight spout..
    My Dad's been making and selling similar for getting on for 40 years now so don't worry.
    It pours perfectly....and it won't dribble.
    Thanks,Dan.

    Wonderful, you do great work! I wish I had a setup, working with clay is fun. As a child I found a spot on the property, we would dig up red clay from the side of the mountain after they were done logging, we would just make figurines for the most part, We didn't have a turning wheel. It was a dark red, and it dried hard, we even made drawings on the sides of the areas, kind of wonder if they are still there.

      If you still have access to the clay, you can process it and use it for hand-building.
      There are videos here about how to process your own dug up clay.
      You'll still need a get a kiln, but you can get them for not all that much, especially if you luck into a used kiln in decent condition.

      I don't like the spout much, either. It looks more like a handle.
      Ah, well, what can you do? There's no such thing as a dripless spout.

    • @CoraMas2010
      @CoraMas2010 8 років тому +1

      I find that if you throw one like him but then cut it at an angle instead of straight and instead of fluting the top it you just pull it upward, it looks good. When I threw my teapot I absolutely loved the way it came out. The spout makes it or breaks it.

    • @CoraMas2010
      @CoraMas2010 8 років тому +1

      Also, for a more smooth pour, instead of making one large hole (where all the liquid will come out super fast) make a series of small holes. Maybe in a dice formation and the put the spout over it.

      You get a better join if the clay is still wettish. Still, whenever I tried something like this, I never had the confidence to attach pieces so simply. I was so afraid my piece would fall apart, I went for serious overkill.

    • @susiewousie7838
      @susiewousie7838 9 років тому

      +cds hdfdjsh it cant harden too much because then the handle wont stick to it. both pieces of clay still has to be somewhat wet to stick together. if they are to dry, it wont work :)

    • @susiewousie7838
      @susiewousie7838 9 років тому

      but if, after you burnt the pieces, and then they fall apart or the entire thing breaks, then you could always use attica (vinegar) as glue.
      the tiniest little bubble of air inside the clay can make the entire thing break when burning it in the oven.

      also because you need to get all of the air bubbles out of the clay, that's why he also did it for the handle on the table; air bubble = clay exploding in the oven. I've made that mistake XD

    I'm so bothered that he didn't score the clay before attaching the spout and handle. you're playing a roulette of that thing falling off the moment you pick it up!

    Excellent work. Although it looks a bit more like a watering can than a teapot to me, but that could just be that it's made a clay, and isn't as shiny as most teapot.
    Great job either way :3
