    Great video, no endless intro, no annoying music, just all the info you need, top job mate.
    Just completed this today, carbs off, cleaned, reassemble, all in a few hours, thanks to your video.
    Found 2 pilot jets blocked which hopefully was the cause for starting issues.
    Will find out tomorrow when I try to fire it up.
    Thanks again.

      And was it? I also have some starti g issues on my Honda CBF 600 S. I think the carbs were never cleaned nor sync. I am watching videos to help myself understand how to remove and clean carbs and soon I will try to clean and sync them, hope the problem will get solved. The bike dosen't start on the first tries and only starts with the choke on. I guess the pilot jet is cloged.

    Fantastic teacher brother!! I will say tho for those of us (me) that are still learning about bikes, even tho it was straight forward to do, I would recommend having a video about taking the seat and fuel tank off. Other than that, couldn’t have asked for a better guide/teacher. Amazing job my guy!!

    Wow! Thank you Cody! Great video, I learned so much and so many good tips. I have a 96 Magna and paid $500.00 at the Honda shop 3 years ago (which I thought was a good price for the work) but I know it will be even more expensive on my next visit. Thanks to your video, I will be doing it myself.

    You are right, vacuum slide carbs require the slight bit of restrictive pressure on the intake side.

    Hey Cody . I just did this job at work today and you were spot on with the way to do the job right. THANK YOU .. and P.S. it had the snorkel on it as well.. it’s running now and good too. Bought 4 rebuild kits .. stripped em down and threw em in the sonic tank with dawn dish soap and distilled water and vwala 🎉 one happy 2001 Honda Magna 750 back up and running.

    The K&N - HA-7594 - Air Filter Replacement Honda, the one that comes underneath the tank.... no longer is available in my European country and its trading neighbours. They recently advertised it for €100 no less... while my battery leaks only could cost me nearly a quarter.

      @@TheMotorcycleMD Doesn't really require much to unscrew there IMHO. This way you don't run a risk stripping a screw or a thread on the carburetor body.

    I have a nicely restored 1984 Honda VF700F Interceptor in Freddie Spencer red, white and blue. Getting the carbs out was ok...Getting them back in was super difficult. I would love to see you do a carb in/out video on one of those old beauties as I'm sure I'll have to do it again sometime. On my last ride, September 1 of 2023, she died and I needed my neighbor to come and get me. Had a full tank of fuel, plenty of battery, cranks all day...just wont start. I'm thinking fuel pump, I know the plugs are fresh. UUgghh!. Since then I've been putting the miles on my 2013 VFR1200F. Kind of cool to have a first gen and last gen VFR. Thoughts?

    • @TheMotorcycleMD
      @TheMotorcycleMD  9 місяців тому

      That is cool to have the different gens!
      You need a little more diagnosis to know what’s giving on. Could be about 40 different things. Guessing is expensive!

    • @chestypuller4591
      @chestypuller4591 9 місяців тому

      Anything in MD is expensive. I'll start trouble shooting the fuel system. Then go to plugs, ignition etc. The bike has been fully serviced so I don't think it's anything catastrophic. If it's anything beyond my capability then off to the Honda shop. Thanks for your reply. @@TheMotorcycleMD

    My carburetors spit fine mist of fuel into the air filter when reving, is the intake valve not closing the culprit?

    Random question….i have a Zuma 125 and the fuel pressure regulator is possibly going bad again. Yamaha sells the whole fuel pump assembly for $400. Is there anyway to just replace the pressure regulator and how would I find out what psi I should get? I ride this thing almost every day with my dogs.😁👍

    New to channel but had 03 Shadow ACE, now have a 98 GL1500 SE with factory California Sidecar Company Friendship 2 SE. do you ever do big bikes like a wings? I know there are almost no mechanics that will work on them, so I am trying to learn as much as I can. Good channel, almost always learn something new watching your vids. Thanks

    My Magna's acceleration seems to flatten out a bit at 7000 rpm, while it got a second boost there not so long ago. I use non ethanol gas and renew at least once a week.
    Could it be that carb removal would possibly restore that. I'm asking because no mechanic I contacted is prepared to get into that, since I did not buy the bike from them, and people are allegedly standing in line to upgrade to a rebel 1100. His sales oriented attitude is a bit strange because my dealer told me that this new machine could not beat me, and his hands did look as if they could handle a screwdriver. I told him, if my bike is old, what about you? He replied that he is even older. The story goes that an ugly carp ate a mule, but that probably was a pike... both with p, not b.

      And thanks for the invitation to your private group.
      In the meantime I convinced the dealer that I, not him, is the pensioner and that he, not me, should do the fixing. He agreed to clean the carbs if I would take them out.
      I did not dare to ask him to adjust the valves on the go, because he figured he needed me to turn the front wheel with my bare hands in order to convince me that something got stuck.
      He should have realized all by himself that I already knew, because I had put the brakes kind of together myself, somehow, not him.
      I do not forgive
      I do not forget
      Expect me...

    You just convinced me not to buy one of these. It's harder to get the carburetors off that bike than it is my Kawasaki Vulcan 750. And it only has two. Problem is, the whole bike is built around the carbs, and you have to almost take the whole bike apart to get to them.
