FUN fact: The Goku vs Frieza fight is known as the longest anime fight
which makes friezas "5 minutes till namek explodes" even funnier
Not anymore. Luffy vs Katakuri from One piece took the number one spot recently
@@meciocio it lasted more episodes but its not a longer fight (footage wise)
Isn't Goku vs Freiza 3 hours long?
@@THEKINGBETWEEN right now is luffy vs Katakuri first place, frieza vs goku second, and luffy vs doflamingo 3rd
Idk footage wise i have to look that up
@@meciocio im pretty sure goku v frieza is still the longest on screen battle onepiece has a few more episodes but they cut a lot to show what everyone else is doing
Yamcha screaming "My good leg" is because in the original Dragon Ball, he fought Tenshinhan in the World Tournament. Tien broke his leg just because he felt like it
I'm pleasantly surprised that someone actually remembered that.
That’s a weird thing to include in a series where injuries have no lasting consequence
YUP!. thank you for watching the OG series "Dragon ball" it's so good. more reactors need to watch it!!
@@UmbraMan1 They actually do. Any scars or injuries with long lasting repercussions will stick around (as evidenced by Yamcha's scars). Those don't just go away, even when you're healed or brought back to life.
@@danielwilson7193
That's just because its apart of his look. Characters have gotten holes blasted through them only to recover naturally as if nothing ever happened. If injuries stayed Goku would have the most war-torn chest ever. The only character that I can remember that had a lasting injury was Future Gohan with his missing arm. And even that was only due to the Dragons being gone, and that just being his defining look.
When Vegeta came back to life, he actually was proud of Goku. Looked at him and said: "Good that you are still alive. Only a true Saiyan can stand up to him that long"
😊 we like the Vegeta and Goku begrudging friendship
“He turned blonde.” That’s so much funnier knowing a joke that gets addressed in a few episodes.
And I knew you’d be happy seeing the abridged version of Nappa brought back
Always happy with more Nappa 😁🥳
The next arcs really flesh out Vegeta a lot more, because in this first season of DBZ the actual creator hated the character Vegeta and constantly tried killing him off. The only problem which you also fell for was that Vegeta got very popular and the creator had to keep him around. These next seasons he really comes into his own to the point where he rivals Goku in terms of storylines and importance. "You're either perfect....or you're not me."
We are glad Vegeta was popular because he is a treasure 😁🤩
Anti Heroes were all the rage in the 90s from my understanding.
Best line in the whole show for me is, “and you’re nothing but an overgrown that thing Chi-chi keeps in her drawer!”
😂 epic line for sure. Goku is so innocent 🤣
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Hell back in DragonBall, he thought marriage was food...I don't even wanna know what he thought sex was 😂
Right after "I'm bored. You're boring me"
@@AscendedXSaiyan Also food; at least it does involve *some* eating.
I think my favorite part has to be when Goku says, "You...killed my best friend!" and Frieza is all like, "That's funny, hilarious actually!", then Goku goes Super Saiyan and Frieza expression changes while saying, "That's...that's not funny!"
Yeah seeing Frieza actually worried was nice 😁
"I'm telling you, he's off with his muffins!"
She doesn't know how right she is.
😯😀🥳 Yay! 😋
Funfact: This last "Muffin-Button Joke" was KaiserNeko's (Voice of Yajirobe/Zarbon/KingKai) own idea and he was very proud to get it done and editing it that way. 💯
This and the Trunks special were undoubtedly his greatest works in the series.
Thanks for sharing the fun fact! 😀🥳 We hope this isn’t the last of the muffin button though 😋
I think it was his husband's, actually.
Probably one of the biggest reveals and shows in actual anime history. Both in the real show, and the abridged. I remember seeing this for the first time and I nearly lost my mind as a child.
🤩😀
You can tell by their smiles that as soon as the Namekians teleported, everyone started laughing at Dende.
I wish they kept in Frieza's original line after blowing up Krillin 😂
*Krillin explodes*
"Pop goes the weasel!"
It just...fits!
Damn thats savage 😅😂
"Well I'm sorry, wishing all of your other friends back and building a PLANET has left me a little worn out. He doesn't wanna come back, end of story. Now if you have another wish for me I can try that that, otherwise, bite me."
Probably my favorite part of Parunga, he's doing his best 😂
Dragon was super under appreciated 😝
Explaination about the wish: It was Mr. Popo, on Earth, who wished for everyone who had been killed by Freeza and his minions to be revived, and that's why Krillin wasn't revived. Earth's dragon, Shenlong, cannot revive the same person more than one time, no matter the wording or the nature of the wish, and Kuririn had already been revived once before during the events of Dragon Ball, having been killed by the Demon Clansman called Tambourine at the start of the Piccolo Daimao arc and then revived at the end of the arc. All classic Dragonball stuff.
Thanks for the explanation, Sharky! 😀
I know why the narrator hesitated. The key words were "one and only". Yeah only one...for now.
Awesome reaction
Actually, I got one name. Broly. So, even here, he might not be the only Super Saijen at this time. Or I would say that if they didn't create a new version and made a new one and made him Canon and instead used the one from the original Broly movie. If the original movie was Canon, Broly would have been a Super Saijen first.
@@jonlange6682 DBZA was made before Super. Super started around the time of Cell Saga's Abridged season. They used the movies from the original DBZ for Abridged, so Broly would have already been a Super Saiyan. Honestly, it's a shame TFS cancelled finishing the series, but I get it. Something that starts as a joke becomes too much work too fast. Add the fact Shueisha and Funimation were suing them basically every season, and you run into issues.
@@jonlange6682 I get what you mean but with the exception of the new Broly Movie the others I don't think are considered canon. So even if he was first that won't count.
Besides I referring to future Super Saiyans
@@AdeptusCaeiusIII fuck Funimation. Enough said.
Gohan: "Mommy, what is that thing you keep in your drawer?"
Chi-Chi: "Goookuuuuuuuu!"
That "God dang it Freezer, now I have to give you more!" had such an aggressive tone, but Goku treats the interaction like Freeza "spilled" his "cup of energy."
Bethany calling that they would bring back Nappa at the end of part 1, and I was like "Oh, I can't wait to see their faces"
😜😁😀🤗
This is one the best transformations in all of anime.
In the original
😎🤟🤩
Since you wanted a bit more information about Chiaotzu by the way, in Chinese mythology people were able to turn corpses into things called Jiangshi, which are sentient Zombies with really tough bodies and no vital Organs to exploit.
Chiaotzu is a dead kid that got turned into a Jiangshi, which is why he looks so young, he dosent age because he is a zombie.
He and Tien used to both belong to the Crane School, which was led by a Dragon Ball Villian kid Goku fought.
Well actually that bit about Chiaotzu being a Jiangshi is just fan theory based on his design origins. We know little to nothing about Chiaotzu in actual Dragonball lore
@@TheSaharay1 The only other explanation would be that Chiaotzu Isa dwarf who is incredibly, incredibly committed to Cosplay.
In Chinese mythology, a Jiangshi is a brand new soul, a new life. They can have personality just like any human.
@@kenbocole1460 Jiangshi also suck blood like a vampire and hop around, because their limbs are too stiff to walk properly
@@kenbocole1460 Another example of one from popular media is Hsen-Ko from Darkstalkers. She's an upbeat undead who travels with her sister, who has the form of a sealing spell that Hsen-Ko wears on her hat.
@@NinjaKIngAce Chinese mythology can vary, another version I heard is that they float rather than walk.
Now that you've seen how Nappa comes back you understand the ending of Deadzone where Krillin is pitching the whole thing as a movie idea to Nappa over the phone.
To this day, Frieza getting bitch-slapped by Goku makes me laugh until everything hurts! That’s how funny that is! 😂🤣
When frieza got cut in half and goku was making those cut jokes was probably my favorite🤣
Glad yall was able to react to this! Goku turning super saiyan for the first time will always be in my top 10 favorite anime moments.
Just the pure emotion in the English dub's voice was amazing, just an awesome scene!
Quick explanation about that "Do you have a watch?" And the "Do you know what a minute is?" Questions Goku asked Frieza.
I think it was multiple episodes and several hours of the show between Frieza giving the planet 5 minutes before blowing up, and it actually blowing up.
It was so exaggerated it was made a running joke.
Glad yall got to experience it too! Team four star has done such a great job with this series, and it only gets better!
The fight with freezer took basically a year of run time
@@Gallacant I was so frustrated watching it as a Kid, but still loved every second of it!
In canon Goku and Freezer did fought for 5 minutes
And its confirmed they can speed talk since Super Hero
I still kinda think TFS did that scream from Goku better than the official dubs did, tbh. What a fucking howl of fury.
I always figured Freiza was bluffing to unnerve Goku and get him to make a mistake.
That Yamcha and Bulma scene actually played out that way in the English dub. It was almost the exact conversation. Like 85% accurate. Bulma was mad that Yamcha didn't communicate with her, so she broke up with him.
Yall really should watch the SSJ transformation in the original, its so iconic!
As is Goku's speech too!
We want to check out some iconic stuff from the actual show for comparison at some point. Maybe after we finish the abridged 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 that sounds awesome! Thank yall for these reactions!
There are so many parts about this that I love.
8:23 Bulma learning about her place on the battlefield the hard way.
9:23 Mr. Popo being great as always.
16:47 Farewell, Super Kami Guru. You will be missed. Just not by your people.
21:08 This hurts more than the discs.disc's.
24:16 Tien has a point. With the existence of Dragon Balls, life or death scenarios are more "life or wait a while". Death is as irrelevant as power levels.
I think what's the funniest thing about this episode is Krillin coming back screaming. We know from Goku's time in the afterlife and the other Z fighters that particular world runs at the same exact time as here in the real world, and that they had to wait four months (or one Namekian year) for Porunga to activate again, sooo....that means Krillin was screaming his head off for four months in the afterlife, probably while everyone in the Heavenly Check-In Station, including King Yemma was just watching him like he was crazy or something!
In the actual series, they had to use one wish to bring Krillian to the Earth Afterlife station ( Surprising suggested by Vegeta) then use a second wish to bring him back. Wishing him back only would have caused him to materlize in space where Namek used to be.
They actually originally had to preserve the body for when they wished someone back.
That is what gets confusing. In DBZ, you see the namekians and Vegeta come back in their dead bodies while other times they just materlize out of nowhere. Then in gets really confusing with something involving Freiza later when he is wished back, but it's the pieces of his body his live is restored to. The rules are really messed up.
26:16 Gohan: "Wait. I feel a dark presence on that ship..."
Bethany: "Darth Vader?"
Me: "Close enough."
I hope you 2 are ready for the next season. Your about to enter the absolute peak of the DBZA writing and effort.
Yessss 😁
Fun fact: The shot with Porunga sweating was taken from a small piece of the original script where Bulma flirted with him to try and get a few extra wishes, and he was so nervous. It was hilarious!
Super Saiyan, THE most legendary transformation in anime history. Arguably a form that has/never will be topped..... and it only exist because Toriyama and his assistant got tired of inking in Goku's hair. That's not the whole reason but that is the reason his hair goes blonde. Toriyama needed a way to show that Goku got a huge power up. And so this legend of a form was both a great thing for the story and a money saving measure.
This is what set DBZ Adbridged to a new level, the Namek Saga is incredible well done, the jokes, the creativity to create the lines that fit the scenes is just brilliant.
Cannot wait to see you both finish the next season.
I remember as a kid waiting for the next season to air took forever to wait for back in 2000. But we got one of the most badass introduction to a character on the show.
You'd be watching the show, hyped up for the next episode to continue the story, and the next episode... *RADITZ!!*
In the actual anime Frieza said five minutes and that took 12 episodes.
1. 2:50 this joke gets even funnier when you remember that Frieza has *no clue* wtf a KitKat bar even is.
2. 5:16 one of my favorite scenes from the abridged because, on top of ending it with a hillarious joke, they captured the *real* Frieza perfectly.
He's not this intimidating mythical figure, he's a spoiled brat who just happened to be born with a godlike level of power and who throws a hissyfit when things don't go his way.
3. 17:44 you know something is messed up when even Vegeta's jaw drops
4. 18:58 Inverted controls actually kinda explains why Krillin rarely if EVER hits anyone with the Destructo Disc / Kiensan
5.18:15 in the original Goku called it quits because he could tell Frieza was slowly losing power. He had never pushed his body that far and it couldn't take it for long. By this point Frieza literally wasn't even worth the effort.
6. 22:28 The original version of this is *unbelievably epic* with Goku just screaming *"You FOOL!!"* at Frieza before demolishing him
7. 31:20 bringing back Nappa is one of the biggest changes TFS made and arguibly for the better. He's hillarious in the relatively little screen time he gets from here on out
I much prefer "You FOOL!" over "You MORON!" because the former sounds like he's genuinely disappointed with Freiza not recognizing when he's beaten while the latter sounds like he's belittling Frieza, which feels out of character to me.
Eating dinner and watching your reactions has become such a comforting habit of mine, thx for the consistent uploads
Our pleasure! Happy and honeyed to be a part of the routine ☺️😊
Still another season left to go! Can't wait for them to meet Cell!
TFS Cell is a gem
That's *MR.* Perfect Cell!
😎🤟🥳
Fun Fact: The episodes leading up to this one all have the disclaimers read by the character that is going to die in that episode
Funny thing to think about, the Dragon can only do things that are within its power. Making Goku do some thing he didn’t want to do was asking too much.
my favorite line is "Ohhh my! Twelve."
Favorite characters - Freeza, Gohan, Vegeta
Way late here, but good call on Bulma quoting Iron Man at 26:00. To give context to the date, Episode 30 came out about a month after the first Avengers movie.
In terms of favorite lines, I'd say - for this season of the abridged, at least - it mainly comes down to Freeza's lines. Either the episode-ending reply to Vegeta's "And if I'm not immortal, Freeza's going to..." with, "Oh, don't mind me, by all means. *Give me some ideas.*" That or his dialogue commanding Zarbon to fetch Vegeta ending with a minion dying and saying, "You see that, Zarbon? That's you if Vegeta is not in front of me in the next 10 minutes." Both such good, commanding lines from one of the most iconic villains in anime, if not in fiction.
I like how you thought that Nappa wasn't coming back. Lol
Ghost Napa is a memorial to all the Z fighters who die and never get mentioned again. Apule, Kiwi, Dedorua, Zarbon, The Ginyus...
Ghost Napa serves to remind how long it has taken us to get here, so DBZA Vegata is haunted because DragonBall Z Vegeta is never.
the longest 5 minutes in anime History, in the original it spanned for about 9.5 episodes
also, the wish they made on Shenron to "bring back all the worthless maggots killed by Frieza's men" did not work for Krillin because there are a few rules for the dragon's wish range, one of which being you can't wish some one back to life who's already been brought back before, ie since Krillin had died before in OG Dragon Ball he can't be brought back by Shenron again, and the same goes for Chiaotzu, but Porunga could still bring em back but just one at a time
Goku literally Broke Frieza's brain throughout this series XD and i love it
Almost 40 minutes of dbza and some of the best episodes two - an awesome way to end the day^^
🥳🥳😎🤟
Super Saiyan cannonically multiplies the user's strength, speed, durability, and all other physical abilities by 50x
So yeah, strong power up.
For those who haven’t seen the original series that plane Bulma’s father flew in can shrink into a pocket sized Capsule, Her father invented it
He’s Hank Pym! 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 pretty much
Now I can’t wait for season 3. EASILY the best season in writing, comedy pretty much everything
Of course. It has the PERFECT villain, after all.
Wow. This was so damn good it’s hard imaging it getting even better 😀
Which is funny because TFS themselves said they thought season 3 was some weak writing (mostly towards the end) and they relied on older humor more and more
@@krbchris26 I recognize that the council has made a decision, but considering it is a stupid ass decision, I have elected to ignore it. Season 3 feels like actual season of a show and has most of the best humor and sick moments. I’m really surprised they feel like that
My favorite bit from the anime itself is Goku's patended "I'm gonna f*** you up" glare at Frieza right after he goes SSJ. It's a glare that he retains throughout DBZ.
He first does it to King Piccolo
@@Haruki_Aznable Does he? My memory is spotty when it comes to DB. This one is the one that stuck out to me the most.
So just some context, Krillen has been Goku's best friend the past 20-30 years.
Can't wait for you to see the next season and movies as well; the next episode (31) does a lot of great character building and is centered on Krillen :D
Not that long but since their teen years
can't wait to see the Hercule Satan vs Dan Hibiki Death Battle, cuz that's one hilarious, though that should be seen at the end of DBZA
Cooler movies gotta be next on the list before we start the Cell saga, some of my favorites!
In terms of Super Saiyan personality it's cool that it comes through that Goku is less silly and empathetic, because in the show Super Saiyans generally speak more monotone and act more cold-blooded in accordance with their ancestry as warrior/conquerors. Later on Goku can sit pretty comfortably in Super Saiyan form for extended periods without personality changes and just be silly old Goku which is a testament to his innocence/goofiness
Thanks for giving us more info on Super Saiyan personality. And yes, the Cooler movie is coming. Next is 31 and then Cooler movie 😎🤟🥳
on krilling screaming its even more funny when ya realized at that point its been 4 months
he's been screaming for 4 straight months
Wait till they meet Mr perfect cell
So happy to be all caught up, found your channel with this, and this is a series I hold quite dear as I watched them all on release. So happy to see others getting so much enjoyment out of them still and the incredible work done by TFS!
Everything with "Capsule" on it, came from the Capsule Corp., the Corporation of Bulmas Dad. He is basically the richest person on the planet.
Krillin and Nappa are plotholes of the original. With the wish to revive everyone killed by Freeza and his man, both should have been revived.
My favorite little detail is when Goku and King Kai are arguing about letting Freeza power up, you can see stuffed crust pizza in his eyes
In the real show Nappa did not come back to life.
Hercule Satan will be a name to remember
Rip to Chris Ayres the guy who voice acted frieza
Fun Fact: Bulma was about the leave Namek with the ship when Gohan get back to hold of Freeza, until Goku was back in action.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine"... so she was ready to let them down. Maybe also as a small revenge for the fact that she would have simply died several times on Namek...
And season 3's quality increases quite a bit as well! You'll notice it once you get into mid to later 30's. Also the character writing hones in a little better, lani and kaiser even mentioned they wrote a lot of characters in season 1-2 in a way that isn't consistent with how they wanted them ultimately portrayed, for example krillin being a jerkass at times in season 2 they mentioned that it was more of a writing crutch. But season 3 the writing (and characters) really shines.
Looking forward to it. We think they’ve done a great job on characters in season 2 🤩😀
Fun fact: Yamcha refers to broken leg as "good" one because Tien broke the other one when they first met in one of the tournaments.
Thanks for helping us with that reference 😀
Can't wait you guys see Trunks in episode 32
I can’t wait for the end of Episode 60 part 1
You guys are amazing and absolutely love your reactions, absolutely can not wait for you guys to get to season 3, this is where DBZA really cements itself as something way beyond just a parody series and it's also my personal all time favourite Dragon Ball saga. You're in for a ride!
FYI, Nappa in the "real" show is dead, end of story. His Abridged revival is purely "non-canon" but awesome.
I've heard it hypothesized that Abridged!Goku (vaguely) remembered there being a muffin button on the ship he was sent to Earth in, which is why he was so insistent on there being one on the ship that Dr. Briefs was making for him. But since the ship was basically a carbon clone of the ships that he and Bulma studied, there actually was a muffin button installed; they just didn't realize it. (But Goku did; he was making muffins on the way to Namek, after all.)
Then when he was trying to escape Namek, the first button he hit was the muffin button for Freeza's ship, which made him very happy (as you can plainly see). But there had been muffin buttons installed all along, and you can follow the breadcrumbs (muffin-crumbs?) from the beginning. So it all came full-circle.
Btw, in the original, king kai made the plan to bring everyone to earth, and Goku specifically asked to be excluded from the wish to finish his fight.
YES...The ONLY Super Saiyan...
Also remember that satan guy. He may or may not be important later.
here's a fun fact about Piccolo: while he may have an adult size and being at 7'4 tall, he's actually around Gohan's age, at the namekian saga, if not a bit older.
He's a year or so older
@@AscendedXSaiyanPretty sure Piccolo is at least 3 years older than Gohan because he was born at the end of the King Piccolo saga in Dragon Ball. Then a 3 year time skip happens, then Goku fights Jr., then another time skip into Z. Gohan does catch up a little because of the HTC, but Piccolo also used the chamber so I guess not.
Oh I can't wait until you all get to episode 34! I really want to see your reaction there!
The reason that goku mispronounced vacuum is because he is brittish and they say hoover there.
Been waiting for this one for awhile. MasakoX (the voice actor for Goku in DBZA) sells the Super Saiyan roar.
Some trivia and lore from the regional series:
Super Saiyan for our cast is derived primarily form anger and rage. When a Saiyan (or half-Saiyan) has reached a certain anger threshold - such as watching your best friend be murdered in front of your eyes, and combine that with a sufficient power level, you’ll go Super Saiyan.
Remember when Goku had his hair stand on end against Lord Slug? In the original film, Goku has the anger to go Super Saiyan, but not the strength - which turned him into a “False Super Saiyan” of sorts.
From there the hair stands up, goes blond, and you’re 50x stronger than you were before. Future characters will go through similar trauma to obtain the transformation. Goku wasn’t necessarily any smarter as he was just straight pissed off. In the Kai dub, he even advised Gohan to leave before he did something that he’s regret.
Saiyan’s as a species don’t exactly see family as family, more so as close friends - which is one of the reasons Goku is such as absent father figure. It’s literally encoded into his DNA.
Pretty much, the legend is meant to be pure of heart, but I think that’s part of the legend as like something passed down, not an actual canon qualification. Goku doesn’t become any smarter, but he found newfound power and needs Gohan to go do something productive. They all needed to go do this anyways (leave Namek) so now it’s the same but Piccolo is injured and Frieza is still alive and an active threat. So Goku needs to be a diversion/he’s also mad and wants revenge.
It genuinely is pulled from a real life phenomenon where experiencing something that causes you to snap emotionally, even if you were fatigued or otherwise incapacitated (to a certain extent of course, it’s not magic or anything) it’s almost like finding a newfound energy pool inside you to tap into. Same with people who collapsed in a life or death situation, had no more energy to move on, and then in remembering something/someone or just knowing they didn’t want to die, just had a brand new spurt of energy to continue on, having a will to live so strong that you just feel energy you didn’t think you had
Saiyans _can_ see family as family. That's a part of the reason why Goku is alive, and is also supported by some stuff Vegeta does later on.
Most Saiyans only don't see family as family due to their upbringing, and Goku specifically doesn't because he got married pretty quickly without really getting close to Chi-chi first. Outside of the abridged, he also _does_ interact with his sons like how you would expect a father rather than a friend to - at least while he is around interacting with them - so there's also that.
@@christiancinnabars1402
I never said that they couldn’t, just that it’s natural for them to not hold family ties as humans do.
Bardock and Vegeta are exceptions to the rule.
Vegeta is a prince, royalty. It’s only natural that her want to preserve his bloodline.
Bardock on the other hand (if we’re following the Super timeline) wanted to save Goku merely because he got tired of destroying. Gine even said that his behavior was “Un-Saiyan-like”.
Gohan is a halfbreed, so naturally some of his more Saiyan like traits are masked by the humanity - such as his desire for knowledge and tendency to want to talk things through before fighting. However generally speaking, he is still a Saiyan, as seen in his later years - as well as his violent behavior in this arc.
Goku’s “father-like” moments are exceedingly few and far between, and are anime only at that. In the Manga, he doesn’t really act like a dad. More so a caregiver that lets his children go after infancy. He protected Gohan from Raditz because he was still basically a toddler. After his training with Piccolo? He treats him more like a training partner or Krillin. He said “son”, but you can tell by his tone that it’s more of a statement of fact than significant in a familial sense.
Thanks for the trivia on super saiyans 😀
In answer to your question about if Goku gets smarter as a Super Saiyan, not smarter but more focused and less empathetic, verging on sociopathic/psychopathic to a degree.
This is noticeable in the original show too but DBZA exaggerates it, especially later when a certain innocent character transforms and goes REALLY sociopathic to the point that he scares everyone including arguably the most evil villain in DBZ. I better stop there but you'll know it when you see it.
Killing Krillin was the death nail for Freeza's coffin. He thought he could supress the Super Saiyan legend, but he enabled it's occurence. I think Goku's strength was around or slightly above double that of Freeza's when he turned supersaiyan. Its a very iconic moment, up there with Vegeta v Goku with their two main attacks Gallick Gun and Kamehameha wave.
The "Five minutes" thing is a bit absurd, but its a trope in anime. What is minutes for them is like hours for us XD
In the anime the entire plan was mostly King Kai and Kami's, King Kai reaches out to Dende to have him wish everyone on Namek to Earth, but Goku insists on staying to end Freeza. I feel like the abridged kind of made a plot hole since dende's phrasing would have sent Goku to earth, but its a parody, I'm not complaining. In the end Dende got revenge by robbing Freeza of his wish. I don't recall if this is also the case, but King Kai greatly resented Freeza and was more than happy to ensure he is permanantly removed as he keeps destorying planets that King Kai is supposed to watch over. I could be wrong.
Gohan actually fights Freeza in all of his transformed variants and does hold his own against him relatively well for someone so young and inexperienced. Freeza and Gohan believe Goku is dead when lava explodes on him and so Gohan takes up the mantle, but Goku returns and demands Gohan get Bulma and Piccolo off of Namek.
The "kidney shot" barrage is a call back to when Freeza was saying it to Vegeta as he was brutally beating him. the joke has now come full circle.
Guru's death in the anime is really sad, but he died knowing all of people would live on. He made peace with that and so he died with a smile.
The scene where Goku kills Freeza is one of epicness. Freeza rants about how great he is and how insignificant Goku is and angirly fires that energy at him and Goku senses it and just yells "YOU FOOL!" and blows him up.
Namek was originally supposed to be the end of Z, but Toriyama kept the series going.
They used a loophole to bring back Nappa, Vegeta was technically still under Freeza's payroll, albeit he had gone slightly rogue, just not fully yet. Every reactor I've seen rejoices that TFS brought back Nappa though. You're also halfway through the series!
Sad we are halfway through. We don’t want it to end! Thanks for giving us more info on how this compares to the actual show 😊
Ken: "Is he smarter in Super-Saiyan?" 😂 Good one
Happy holidays to you! It's been a great year keeping up with your content :)
Happy belated Thanksgiving! You’ve been a great part of the community here the past year 🥳🥳😀
Muffin Button was the most legendary joke of its time. You were on the floor weeping tears of joy at the reveal.
The factc that y'all love DragonBall and the characters without having seen the actual show proves that Team Four Star did an amazing job with the parody!
Awesome to see it! I was waiting all morning for this to drop!
🥳🥳
Chi chi when she sees Goku again can be summed up by one word. Goten
I'm really glad you enjoyed this. There are a few parts that I wanted to explain or give more context to, but you have such a great comments section that already explained them all. One little reference that probably went over most people's heads; "I am the Terror that flaps in the night," Goku says this line during his Super Saiyan speech and is a direct quote of the show Darkwing Duck from the 90s.
One question I have for waaaaay down the line (after you're done with DBZA): There is a spin-off series titled HFIL that has been really fun and is completely original and there's also a series of countdowns called DBCember that TFS did every year that go further into depth of the actual series. I've seen some reacters watch these, do you think you will be one of those?
I know I keep saying it but man myself and thousands of us other DBZ fans would love to see you react to the actual show, this Abridged is SOOO fast and cuts so much lore, character development and tension, I guarantee if you watched the Funimation dub you would be soo invested in this show it'll make you cry all the time - just like Baris and Madison are doing on their channel atm!
Question: There was no time-frame involved in the wish, "Bring back everyone that Freezer and his men have killed." I can understand why all the Saiyans on Vegeta were not brought back, (or were, and then died again due to being spaced as the planet itself wasn't brought back) but what about the Saiyans that were killed off-planet during the betrayal/culling, like Goku's dad's teammates?
You know I was thinking about this a while back. So the Frieza saga was a total for 6 days in universe, and the earth dragon balls can revive people if they died less then a year ago. Since Frieza is no stranger to blowing up planets, makes me wonder how many planets he destroyed in the other 359 days of the year and how many people revived in deep space just to suffocate and die again.
Oh damn! Dark 😨😜
I love season 2. As for next season I'll just say it's simply Perfect.
The humor is much better next season 😂
I loved the line where Vegeta came back from He'll to appear in the other He'll. What the He'll.
The running joke of Namek exploding in 5 minutes is due to the fact that it took 9 episodes to explode, more than 2 months. The battle seems like going on forever, and in general the pace of the show during the whole Goku vs Frieza fight pretty much halted completely. The reason is that, at the time, the anime catched up with the manga, being only a couple of months behind.
Great reaction! Watching your videos are something I look forward to every day!
Love hearing that 🥰☺️🤗🥳
Bring back Nappa is a great idea and it would even worked for the original show, but that never happend.
In case you didn't notice from the last few episodes, the character reading the "non-profit" disclaimer in the beginning was the one who was going to die that episode.
This time, it was Frieza.
Oh! I was just about to take a food break, too!
Thanks for the big upload! Looking forward to seeing your wonderful thoughts and reactions on the next season! ✨
We heard it gets even better 😀
"If i let him power to 100%, and beat him then ... it'll demormalize him!" 😅 I love Neologism = Creating new words and meanings
If porunga had no limits 1st wish give piccolo immortalaty soooo dragon balls forever 2nd wish have infinite power 3rd wish turn everyone in the frieza force including frieza and cold good and pure hearted❤ and world no universal domanation and peace......... 18:28
Don’t worry. It keeps getting better
3:22-3:51 Yep. He’s no Superman. Just our beloved Goku.
7:17 Read “roughly 3 hours” in anime time. Because reasons.
9:49 …I have questions…
10:37 Wait a bit. 😏
12:09 No amount of aloe or senzu is going to heal THAT burn.
13:37 Yep! Although, in the original, Goku demanded that he be left behind with Freeza, in order to finish him off.
17:46 …Well, THAT just happened! Even Vegeta was caught off guard.
31:20 Wish granted!
