The reason Trunks’s hair is purple is because that’s actually Doctor Brief’s original hair color before it turned white. And in some of the original art Bulma’s hair was also purple.
Some fun/interesting facts this episode. Trunks called Goku Sun Wukong because that is the name of the MC of "Journey to the west" which the OG Dragon Ball is based off of. No Yamcha never hanged himself in the Original, Yamcha is pretty well off and Happy. He is annoyed that Bulma dumped him for the guy who orchestrated his death, but he moves on pretty well. It's kind of sad to see Yamcha get picked on. He was one of the first supportive humans Goku ever met, and was like a big brother to Goku for a long time. Goku did learn teleportation on Yardrat, and most likely caught his heart disease there Tien's third eye is due to Tien being an descendent of an Alien who got stuck on earth, so Tien is also an alien/human hybrid. The reason why Piccolo and Goku were driving cars together was that Chi Chi ordered Goku to get a driver's license and Piccolo wanted to join in.
I never thought about Yardrat being the source if Goku's illness but it makes sense. Both because the disease is never explained and becuase with Goku's saiyan phisiology it makes sense that he wouldn't even *feel* sick until it was basically too late
@Jeremy Peake what do you mean? Yamcha never hung himself in the OG, while Goku catching the disease on yardrat is a fan theory that's why I added the likely part, Akira Toriyama himself stated that Tiens third eye comes from Alien Ancestory, and you can watch the filler episode where Goku tries to get his drivers license himself. The yardrat one is debatable, but all the others are straight from the manga or Akira.
Sun wukong also translates to son goku in Japanese Goku most likely didn’t get the disease from yardrat since he got it 3 years after yardrat Piccolo did not want to join in, chichi also made piccolo get his license
Goku destroyed the tyrannic Red Ribbon Army as a kid in classic Dragonball.. but some mad scientist survived.. long planned revenge is coming up for some good reasons.. You will love it. TFS made a fantastic job on these new characters.
They "spoiled" the Trunks reveal early on (EP18). Remember Vegetas Rage ? Where his scream was heard everywhere on Namek, in Space, in the afterlife and we even see Trunks in the future hearing the scream and he goes "....father ?".
Abridged Goku may not be smart, but he really does care about his friends. It was very sweet that he took that moment to let Yamcha know he's his friend.
Ive always loved the scene where Goku just tells Yamcha that hes his friend. I know DBZA doesnt like to take things serious, but simply the fact that Goku said that stops Yamcha from um... dying. Sometimes thats all it takes
The Reveal, Trunks is the Future Son of Bulma and Vegeta, also remember I pointed out in the episode where Freeza planet 419's inhabitants kept SEEING THE FUTURE and one of the lines they said "BULMA AND VEGETA HAVE A KID", and in the episode where Vegeta was screaming over the Dragon Ball being stolen and everyone was hearing it, Trunks was the last one able to hear it in the Future "Once that time machine is done I can go back into the past to save Goku and my Fath… *hears Vegeta's Scream" … Daddy?"
Tien: Don't tell me, you're not in the mood Vegeta: What, does that 3rd eye make you psychic? Tien: No, but it does help me see bullshit Vegeta: Hey... know what?.... F**** you ( flies away) Vegeta finally got a taste of his own medicine 😂🤣😂
To quote an upcoming episode "Why do you antagonize him? You know he can kill you, right?" "At this point it's a game. If he gives in, I win. And he knows that." Tien succeeds in being the most badass side character in both series, and for two entirely different reasons.
Obligatory explanation: In the original, Goku is expected to contract a new virus that attacks the heart, and he'd die from it before the Androids arrive. Trunks gives him a cure for the virus that already exists in his time, so he'll be able to heal from it when it comes. In the Funimation dub, Goku says "It's purple too. I bet it's grape flavored!" TFS clearly decided to play with that in their own way.
Still watching but just wanna say.... Bulma's his mom... Remember previous episode when she said she... "Be his mommy".... Ohhh yes that's extra funny if you knew XD
I love the dialogue with Goku. Between muffin buttons, pink shirts, and not even caring when he is attacked by a Trunks, you never know what to expect and it's always hilarious.
Fun Fact: The in universe reason that Goku and Vegeta are attracted specifically to Chichi and Bulma. Is that Saiyans are hardwired genetically to favour a strong willed woman as their partner.
When Trunks calls him Sun Wukong by mistake. That’s the name of the Monkey King from the novel series Journey to the West. Goku in Dragonball (not z) was based off the Monkey King. The Monkey King is actually pretty insane as he is insanely powerful and causes tons of mischief. I’d highly recommend watching something related to it because he’s up there for outrageous power.
Let’s take a moment to realize that Vegeta’s SON can turn Super Sayin but VEGETA HIMSELF CANNOT! Also, your reactions to the reveal of Trunks’ parents identities was DEFINITELY worth the wait! One last little fact (NOT a fun fact): I’ve heard that Yamcha’s pet talking cat was supposed to be what he used when he died, and the cat was supposed to say something really upsetting but the creators of the Abridged decided to not have that happen because it would be too dark
For a fun bonus check your reaction to episode 18 - at 5 mins 55 seconds you both actually see Trunks for the first time...that scene will make a LOT more sense now :P
I do have to agree with Goku, Vegeta does look good in pink. The song "Highway to HFIL" is a reference to the fact how the show had to censor "hell" to "hfil" in the Ocean dub of the series. Team Fourstars took that term and ran with it, making it an acronym that stands for "Home For Infinite Losers". This might also be a good moment to point out that physics of time in Dragonball is NOT linear and there are multiple diverging timelines. This technically means that you can't save your timeline by going into the past, you're just making a new timeline continuum. This means that most everyone is dead in Future Trunks' own timeline.
Yeah we enjoyed that highway to hfil reference 😆 didn’t know it stood for Home For Infinite Losers though haha. Just knew that it was supposed to replace hell. 🤗
Goku: "Why does everything smell like copper?" Goku's Brain: "Oh just a aneurysm of to much thinking Goku, don't worry" The smell (and taste) of blood is often described as 'coppery', so the joke is that Goku was thinking too hard and somehow gave himself some sort of brain bleed
Imma drop some lore on you two, who missed og Dragon Ball. Back in the early days of the series Goku's search for the mystical orbs got complicated when he bumped into the Red Ribbon Army, a terrorist organisation with designs for global domination, using the balls to wish for it after stalling despite their vast resources. Now these guys threw everything, from tanks and planes, to warships and missiles, at the young Goku, but his strength and skills bested them again and again. When their leader, Commander Red, hired the world's top assassin to kill Goku, the jerk killed an innocent civilian, turning Goku's quest from a leisurely romp to a personal mission to revive the poor guy. This culminated in storming their main hq and decimating it, ending the army as a big threat. Now for the more important bits, during the journey one of the weapons the army sics on our hero is Android 8, a Frankenstein's monster looking guy, but he's a pacifist and Goku befriends him, dubbing him Eighter, not the greatest name but it works. Now in the true show, Trunks tells Goku that the top Scientist of the RR Army and the lead creator of the Android series of weapons is Dr Gero, who survived the destruction of the HQ and swore revenge on Goku. There is no big reason for it, the guy just really believed in the Army's goal of conquest and hated losing his primary source of revenue. So the guy spends 14 years lying in wait, preparing to strike, and according to Trunks the time traveller, succeeds in ending the heroes with his latest batch of mechanical monstrosities. Now 11 years ago the top Android model waa #8, which number do you think the latest would be?
Goku and piccolo drivin cars was such a fun episode xD chichi threatened both goku and piccolo to get a driver's lisence or she wont feed them. So it took some time but goku does get his driver's lisence
Actually, Goku was saved from the explosion in Namekusei because there were some of the Ginuo special force ships nearby. That escaped the planet and the disease has Goku attacks the heart in his time line, there is no such medicine.
Fun fact about the heart medicine bit: the high cholesterol is a bit for abridged. In the original anime, it wasn't necessarily a heart attack, but a heart virus that killed Goku, and Bulma in the future gave the medicine to Trunks, to give to Goku. It's a "cure" of sorts for the virus, and Trunks instructs him that when he starts to feel symptoms he should take the medicine.
OH wait, some additional comments: i Love that trunks really does look like bulma and vegeta's kid. he's got the permanent angry eyebrows of vegeta with bulma's hair and eyes (although the colour is more like dr briefs' hair). trunks is probably one of my favourite characters in the entire series (piccolo, vegeta and gohan are closely tied), so i'm very excited to see what you think of him! he's only about 18 years old right now, so it's a great addition to the cast to have a teenager around. his awkwardness is massively endearing. i also think it's really funny how the entire world would've been destroyed by androids if piccolo hadn't overheard trunks' speech - goku also needed piccolo to remind him of the date and location in the original series, too! once again, great vid! thanks for the awesome start to the day
Sorry about deleting & reposting a little too frequently the editing feature was glitching for me. Ahh Son Wukong line referencing the inspiration for the Son Goku character & some of the Dragon Ball stories. Son Wukong is in a Chinese Story called "Journey to the West". Overly Sarcastic Channel has a playlist about it.
5:40 If you wanna hear a fun fact that is also super dark.. They thought about having Yamchas cat say "..Can i stop being the rope now...?" Because his cat can transform into almost anything. even ropes. But even THAT was TOO DARK For TFS's sake.
THE SECRET'S OUT! i didn't comment on the last couple episodes because i wouldn't be able to hold in the trunks spoiler, but your reactions to that reveal was priceless! i feel like it's rare to see people who haven't been spoiled on trunks' parentage, so i'm VERY happy you guys got to experience it for the first time here. great episode, lots of fun setups here!
Hi Definitely not Definitive, I think your reaction to this episode was my favorite so far, really great (especially the Bulma and Vegeta turning out to be the parents reveal 😁) and love it when you have your dog chilling with you😊 Also some people will tell you to watch the history of trunks now wich is kind of a special episode/movie but I recommend watching it between episode 41 and 42 since the latter will refer to some jokes from that movie. Also there are some characters in there that have not yet been revealed in the series. Again really loving your reactions and keep on enjoying!👍
Appreciate the recommendation but unfortunately we already saw History of Trunks as we watch ahead to give early access to patrons. So history of trunks will be next 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Ah I see, should get myself some of that early access 😅 Well Im sure you will enjoy regardless👍, and now I look forward to your reaction to it!
I always loved how Goku tries to work through a time paradox, gets a good way through, then a wire gets crossed. Ever since the initial Super Saiyan, he has become a tad bit more ordered and logical. Almost like he gained a point or two in IQ, but remains a lovable, naive buffoon.
There's something so heartwarmingly simple about Goku mistaking Trunks for a girl and treating "her" no different than any of his male fighter friends. 😁
By the way in the original story: -It's a new heart virus that kills Goku (not his cholesterol) trunks come back in time to give goku a cure for the heart virus which has been discovered in his time. -It is actually grape flavored. Goku is excited for receiving the medicine and says Wow Awesome I bet it's grape flavored too! -Goku tells Trunks he could've teleported to stop freeza and was going to but didn't because Trunks showed up, Trunks didn't realize and said he would have stayed out it in order to keep his coming to give goku the medicine a secret. -Goku and piccolo do go driving. They essentially become family and chi-chi makes them go get their driver's license so they both go together. Piccolo is good but drives like an old man and goku is reckless as hell and goads piccolo into a race that causes them both to fail.
The Android episodes ware probably the slowest part of this whole season, mostly because the 'Android Saga' in the show was meant to be a big setup for the next 'big bad' of the series. Akira had to set up huge stakes so that when he introduced the next bad guy, it was made clear how horribly slanted the whole situation was. That said, Abridged did a really good job of making the Androids fun characters, whereas their impact on the original show were pretty minimal (at first). They got expanded upon after the time where Abridged ends, but I'd heard through the grapevine Toriyama had been so impressed with the Abridged series that he'd decided to expand on some of the character in Super. Yamcha even becomes a professional baseball player!
It wasn't setup, he kept having to pump out new characters to take over the role of main antagonist because his editors didn't like the ones he was making. 19 and Gero were supposed to be the Main antagonists originally.
10:53 You can have your ghost Nappas and Gurus, but this is my favorite line of the Abridged. Wish Toriyama wrote that. Don't forget that not 10 minutes ago Goku made a joke about Yamcha being the doormat of power levels as well. Yamcha is quite literally one of the five oldest friends Goku's ever had, older than Krillin. 13:47 Best part, I'm totally willing to believe that's how it happened.
The reveal of trunks being Vegeta’s & Bulma’s son makes that line Bulma made last episode so much worse 😂. The muffin button saving Goku is the most Goku thing I could think of .
You two may already heard but Goku didn't die from high cholesterol, he contracted a heart virus to which there was no cure at the time but there was by the time Trunks grew up.
Son Wukong is the name of the monkey king who was forced to travel west with a priest as punishment for his many pranks on the gods using a magic circlet that tightens around his head at the priest's whim. The story is called Journey to the West and many of the characters in Dragon Ball are based off of them (Goku as Son Wukong, Krillin as Tang Sanzang the Priest, Oolong as Zhu Bajie, etc.).
The whole cyborg versus Android argument is actually talked about a lot in the Dragon Ball community. The term Android is only present in the dub. In Japan they're known as Jinzo ningen, which actually means modified humans, ie human beings who have been turned into machines
Yeah, in English they are technically Cyborgs, but I feel like Android sounds better so they may as well use it. (Was the OG Dragon Ball dubbed already? I seem to remember Z getting dubbed first). Cause if the first Red Ribbon androids we see were called androids because they actually were androids it would make sense to keep the term for the new ones even if its technically wrong.
The cut extended version of the Yamcha Yamcha-ing himself scene: Puar (the shapeshifter cat) being heard saying "Yamcha, can I turn back now?" after the part we see.
Something they cut out of DBZA (and I get why) was a particularly haunting dream Vegeta had where both Goku and Trunks go Super Saiyan in front of him. In DBZA, they play it off as simple frustration, but in DBZ, Vegeta's pride was seriously wounded by the fact that two others could go SSJ and he couldn't. Also, something DBZA won't ever explain: Goku can only teleport to an energy signal (someone with a power level). He can't just teleport anywhere he likes. That's why he stole Roshi's glasses: he needed someone far away that he could "lock" onto. In DBZ, he was going to teleport to Frieza once Frieza and King Cold landed on Earth, but when he sensed Trunks's power, he knew everyone was safe, so he didn't bother. Apparently energy sensing also gives you the ability to tell good energy from evil energy.
A few notes about the original: Namekians (and Piccolo by extension) have super hearing, so Piccolo is able to hear the conversation while no one else can (thus he corrects Goku). Yamcha dies to the Androids, too. The driving episode is an iconic filler that happens. There's a few more things, but some are spoilery, so I'll end it here lol.
Bulma does make sense with her plan to stop the androids before they appear. And this plan was also in the show. And yes, they alos said no because they want to fight
The stupit voice they give to Trunks tho 😭😂 Just so you know, Bulma and Yamcha were together still at this point... Also the driving cars episode is probably the best one ✨️❤️
You may have guessed most of the names are parodies.....trunks as in swimming or male trunks..bulma is Japanese female undergarments company...but my favourite are the ginyu force...they are dairy products....racoom(creem) butter(butter) jeese(cheese) gurd(curd or yogurt) & ginyu is milk....and they are also parodies to power rangers or Japanese super sentais
Second time watching this reaction, it was just so good. Loved your reactions to the reveal of Trunks's lineage. Fun Fact: the Yamcha scene gets darker. There's a deleted version on TFS's channel where, while he's hanging out, you hear Puar (who is a shapeshifter, though it's not addressed much in this series) ask, "Yamcha, can I stop being the rope now?"
The whole android thing was always a little weird to me as a sci fi buff. I feel like that whole robotics field wasn't Toriyama's forte. I guess most people don't really know the difference, at least at the time, but it always makes my brain do a double take.
Android is only a thing in the dub. The actual name that Toriyama gave them is Jinzo ningen which actually means modified humans. Still doesn't fit Android 16 or 19 but does make sense for all of the others. Toriyama actually has a great affinity for drawing and designing machinery. If you look at some of the art covers he's made for Dragon Ball that features a lot of Machinery you'll see he has a crazy eye for detailed machines
@@krbchris26 Oh didn't know that, that makes way more sense. Although I didn't really like his designs. But I grew up on Masamune Shirow's work and he kind of specialized on that stuff. So my perspective is a bit skewed.
As someone who didn't grow up with the english dub, I'm not ashamed to say it took me way too long to remember they censored hell as "home for infinite losers" in the dub, so that's why goku is calling it hfil. I always was confused why he wasn't just saying hell.
It's really interesting watching your reactions to this, because the past few episodes have had a lot of in-jokes for fans who knew who Trunks was and his whole backstory, so it was really cool to see people who aren't fans of the original show being blindsided by it like I was back as a teenager. In any case, I bet a lot of things from the last episode or two take on a whole different meaning for you two now, whether it's some small things like Trunks reacting to Freeza bragging about being the ultimate combination of biology and machine with a sarcastic little "Oh yeah, I've never heard *that* before", or a full understanding of the absolute horror Trunks is feeling when Bulma flirts with him.
Btw guys the whole muffin thing is a joke LOL im sure you already know that tho, what actually happened is Goku left Frieza's spaceship and found one of the Ginyu Force's spacepods at like the last second and used it to barely escape the destruction of Namek and then of course crashed on Yardrat where he trained and learned Instant Transmission which explains his clothes as well.
Well, I knew I was going to love your reactions to Trunks’ lineage. And his conception. As good old George Takei says, “OH MY~!” Also, what was wrong with Bulma’s idea, Vegeta?! You could have done it together! Made a date out of it!
In the og anime Goku does panic and once he flies out of Freeza's ship he sees one of the Ginyu pods falling and quickly gets into it and just hits the launch button. Its never explicitly said, but I think The Ginyus were going to Yardraat next to add it to Freeza's domain. I could be wrong though. I think in the og anime Goku does teleport to Freeza and his father and ends up killing them in F. Trunk's timeline. I think Trunks shows up to prove he's their ally and plus everyone would be gathered together to hatch out a plan to deal with the androids. I don't think he thought about Piccolo's super hearing, but Piccolo would keep the secret regardless. and obviously Yamcha does not cancel himself, he is killed with everyone else when they fought the androids. I remember being a little shocked TFS went there with that. xD There is a filler episode where Chichi makes Goku learn to drive a car, Piccolo is somehow forced to do it too. It's a really fun filler episode. :)

Goku most likely didn’t get the disease from yardrat since he got it 3 years after yardrat
Piccolo did not want to join in, chichi also made piccolo get his license
Now you get why trunks was screaming internally in the last episode.
Yes we do 😳😂
Goku destroyed the tyrannic Red Ribbon Army as a kid in classic Dragonball.. but some mad scientist survived.. long planned revenge is coming up for some good reasons.. You will love it. TFS made a fantastic job on these new characters.
Just love how your jaws dropped multiple times this episode. Highlight of my evening 🤣
😆 we loved the reveals in this episode. Great start to this season 🤩
They "spoiled" the Trunks reveal early on (EP18). Remember Vegetas Rage ? Where his scream was heard everywhere on Namek, in Space, in the afterlife and we even see Trunks in the future hearing the scream and he goes "....father ?".
He said "Daddy?"
And it comes back later in an upcoming Special Episode.
Yeah but so much was going on there. We remember that happening but were so clueless as to what it all was 🤗
Looks like Vegeta finally got to use his Phallic Gun.
Abridged Goku may not be smart, but he really does care about his friends. It was very sweet that he took that moment to let Yamcha know he's his friend.
Yup ☺️
1:54 Sun Wukong was the character that Son Goku was based loosely on.
It was such a cool plot twist seeing This in the OG and finding out who Trunks is.
We can imagine 🤩
Ive always loved the scene where Goku just tells Yamcha that hes his friend. I know DBZA doesnt like to take things serious, but simply the fact that Goku said that stops Yamcha from um... dying.
Sometimes thats all it takes
🤗
The Reveal, Trunks is the Future Son of Bulma and Vegeta, also remember I pointed out in the episode where Freeza planet 419's inhabitants kept SEEING THE FUTURE and one of the lines they said "BULMA AND VEGETA HAVE A KID", and in the episode where Vegeta was screaming over the Dragon Ball being stolen and everyone was hearing it, Trunks was the last one able to hear it in the Future "Once that time machine is done I can go back into the past to save Goku and my Fath… *hears Vegeta's Scream" … Daddy?"

Vegeta finally got a taste of his own medicine 😂🤣😂
That one was priceless.
To quote an upcoming episode
"Why do you antagonize him? You know he can kill you, right?"
"At this point it's a game. If he gives in, I win. And he knows that."
Tien succeeds in being the most badass side character in both series, and for two entirely different reasons.
Vegeta can dish it but can’t really take it 😆
This is how Trunks was born! 13:55
Obligatory explanation:
In the original, Goku is expected to contract a new virus that attacks the heart, and he'd die from it before the Androids arrive.
Trunks gives him a cure for the virus that already exists in his time, so he'll be able to heal from it when it comes.
In the Funimation dub, Goku says "It's purple too. I bet it's grape flavored!"
TFS clearly decided to play with that in their own way.
Still watching but just wanna say.... Bulma's his mom... Remember previous episode when she said she... "Be his mommy".... Ohhh yes that's extra funny if you knew XD

Yup 😆😁
Fun Fact: The in universe reason that Goku and Vegeta are attracted specifically to Chichi and Bulma. Is that Saiyans are hardwired genetically to favour a strong willed woman as their partner.
I always forget how good this episode is.
😁
Because somebody is gonna ask. Puar asks if he can stop being the rope now.

one of the lines trunks says "so your Sun Wukong?" which is the character goku is based off "Son Goku"
Interesting note, Goku actually destroyed the Red Ribbon Army when he was a kid
Yay. I wish you guys also watch the show afterwards for more context.
After abridged they should just watch the last chapters of z kai
I dunno that would take much time, and it's not that necessary
We may watch some iconic scenes after this just to see the difference in original versus abridged 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 That sounds like a good idea, after all you won't be able to see Dragon Ball Z's last saga on the Abridged version
Puar the cat wanted to stop being the rope while Yamcha was hanging around.
TeamFourStar said that in they originally wanted Puar to ask if he can stop being the rope yet.
Lol it’s refreshing seeing people who have no idea what’s going on respond to this story. It’s also hilarious watching your jaws drop 😂
Actually, HFIL is Home For Infinite Losers
Pretty sure the acronym was also created by Ocean Dub to help cover the censorship.
Yeah we enjoyed that highway to hfil reference 😆 didn’t know it stood for Home For Infinite Losers though haha. Just knew that it was supposed to replace hell. 🤗
Goku: "Why does everything smell like copper?"
Goku's Brain: "Oh just a aneurysm of to much thinking Goku, don't worry"
The smell (and taste) of blood is often described as 'coppery', so the joke is that Goku was thinking too hard and somehow gave himself some sort of brain bleed
Knew the smell and taste part associated with blood and copper but didn’t piece together that he had a brain bleed from thinking too hard 😂
Goku saying "you're my friend" to yamcha is what stopped him from killing himself
5:41 That went dark so fast...
Actually, Goku was saved from the explosion in Namekusei because there were some of the Ginuo special force ships nearby. That escaped the planet and the disease has Goku attacks the heart in his time line, there is no such medicine.
In am earlier cut of this episode, the suicide rope Yamcha was using was Puar, the shapeshifting cat that hangs around Yamcha
OH wait, some additional comments:
i Love that trunks really does look like bulma and vegeta's kid. he's got the permanent angry eyebrows of vegeta with bulma's hair and eyes (although the colour is more like dr briefs' hair). trunks is probably one of my favourite characters in the entire series (piccolo, vegeta and gohan are closely tied), so i'm very excited to see what you think of him! he's only about 18 years old right now, so it's a great addition to the cast to have a teenager around. his awkwardness is massively endearing.
i also think it's really funny how the entire world would've been destroyed by androids if piccolo hadn't overheard trunks' speech - goku also needed piccolo to remind him of the date and location in the original series, too!
once again, great vid! thanks for the awesome start to the day
Just Piccolo laughing in the background, and only Vegeta asking why. The rest know better than to poke the dark humor bear!!
😎👍😀
5:40 If you wanna hear a fun fact that is also super dark..
They thought about having Yamchas cat say "..Can i stop being the rope now...?"
Because his cat can transform into almost anything. even ropes.
But even THAT was TOO DARK For TFS's sake.
5:40 that I believe is real… like in that timeline Yamcha kills himself and Korn is there asking for him while he swings….so dark….
Hi Definitely not Definitive, I think your reaction to this episode was my favorite so far, really great (especially the Bulma and Vegeta turning out to be the parents reveal 😁) and love it when you have your dog chilling with you😊
Also some people will tell you to watch the history of trunks now wich is kind of a special episode/movie but I recommend watching it between episode 41 and 42 since the latter will refer to some jokes from that movie. Also there are some characters in there that have not yet been revealed in the series.
Again really loving your reactions and keep on enjoying!👍
Appreciate the recommendation but unfortunately we already saw History of Trunks as we watch ahead to give early access to patrons. So history of trunks will be next 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2
Ah I see, should get myself some of that early access 😅
Well Im sure you will enjoy regardless👍, and now I look forward to your reaction to it!
Funny thing is, there isn't a proper canon explanation of how Goku got that heart disease
By the way in the original story:
-It's a new heart virus that kills Goku (not his cholesterol) trunks come back in time to give goku a cure for the heart virus which has been discovered in his time.
I been waiting for your reactions to learning who his parents are.
13:28 He counts Nappa, since he knows Nappa is alive again :D
The reveal of trunks being Vegeta’s & Bulma’s son makes that line Bulma made last episode so much worse 😂. The muffin button saving Goku is the most Goku thing I could think of .
Now that you know who Trunks and his parents are, you also know that Bulma was hitting on her own son 3 hours ago😏🤣
Isn't Bulma more properly Tripitaka?
HFIL stands for Home for Infinite Losers. That is Hell, just censored
The whole cyborg versus Android argument is actually talked about a lot in the Dragon Ball community. The term Android is only present in the dub. In Japan they're known as Jinzo ningen, which actually means modified humans, ie human beings who have been turned into machines
Even the ones that are entirely mechanical?
@@BJGvideos yes. So it's literally wrong both ways!!
There’s actually a deleted scene of Yamcha’s death that features Puar(his transforming cat) asking if she can stop being the rope
The cut extended version of the Yamcha Yamcha-ing himself scene: Puar (the shapeshifter cat) being heard saying "Yamcha, can I turn back now?" after the part we see.
He said "Yamcha, can I stop being the rope now?"
its cool that you guys are learning the DBZ story from Abridged; really its the fast and funny way to watch the series
Trunks meeting Goku is always the best. The abridged is great but the original scene is awesome too!
That was the first time ‘Fuck’ was uncensored for the series.
And given the scene that just played out, appropriate.
"Sun Wukong" is legit funny. the Monkey King protagonist of "Journey to the West" that Goku is loosely based on.
A few notes about the original:
Namekians (and Piccolo by extension) have super hearing, so Piccolo is able to hear the conversation while no one else can (thus he corrects Goku).
Bulma was taking their fun 😝
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 basically xD i cant blame hee though haha
The stupit voice they give to Trunks tho 😭😂 Just so you know, Bulma and Yamcha were together still at this point... Also the driving cars episode is probably the best one ✨️❤️
You may have guessed most of the names are parodies.....trunks as in swimming or male trunks..bulma is Japanese female undergarments company...but my favourite are the ginyu force...they are dairy products....racoom(creem) butter(butter) jeese(cheese) gurd(curd or yogurt) & ginyu is milk....and they are also parodies to power rangers or Japanese super sentais
Goku surviving by the Muffin Button is the best way to explain him surviving Namek's destruction
Especially since it makes equally as much sense as the original, which is to say no sense whatsoever, at least this was a fucking explanation lmao
Fact 😆
Second time watching this reaction, it was just so good. Loved your reactions to the reveal of Trunks's lineage.
Fun Fact: the Yamcha scene gets darker. There's a deleted version on TFS's channel where, while he's hanging out, you hear Puar (who is a shapeshifter, though it's not addressed much in this series) ask, "Yamcha, can I stop being the rope now?"
Muffins are super heat absorbent. Yardrat butter is also 500% thicker than earth butter.
Science 🤓
I know the voice actress who played Bulma, and every time I watched someone react to this episode I reminded of how awkward it was she told me to dub
As good old George Takei says, “OH MY~!”
Also, what was wrong with Bulma’s idea, Vegeta?!
I remember being a little shocked TFS went there with that. xD
There is a filler episode where Chichi makes Goku learn to drive a car, Piccolo is somehow forced to do it too. It's a really fun filler episode. :)
Yeah that was some dark humor even from tfs 😳 no judgement, just dark and unexpected 😂🤗
I love the Doctor Who references with Trunks. Now would be a good time to watch History of Trunks
