    Thank you for the capsule wardrobe information. I have a fairly streamlined wardrobe, but I always love to see/hear about other people's capsule/minimal wardrobes.
    I am off to Europe today, and I packed my sunscreen (for reapplication throughout the flight!), my sun hat, and my sun gloves. More than an ounce of prevention, but I have seen the damage of skin cancer with friends and colleagues.
    Have a wonderful day!

      Living in a perpetually warm climate has made it easier too. More components are needed when you have heavy winters for sure. Have a safe and fantastic trip!! Sounds exciting!!!

    Congrats on reaching 8k subscribers! You have inspired me to downsize my possessions - better to give away what is not being used so that others can enjoy them. And to limit the amount of stuff coming in. Have a great day!

    I would love to hear your suggestions for dry/itchy scalp. I have always had dry skin but on my body I can lather on cream, which isn’t really a solution for my scalp...

    I'm so into coupon clipping. For me, it's so therapeutic and relaxing. I need that some days, lol. Receipt Hog sounds interesting, I'll have to look that one up. Sometimes I really think I have some sort of hoarding disorder or something lol, I have so much "stuff" that I buy and use and just love to collect (skin care, body sprays, perfumes, essential oils, chapsticks) just to name a few. I really admire your minimalistic approach to your life but don't think I could ever get myself to that point. I imagine I'd feel less stressed and enjoy not having so much clutter, but........yeah. I thoroughly enjoy your vlogs and look forward to them every day. Hope you have a wonderful week! :)

    Dear Dr. Dray,
    You eat so healthy. I enjoy seeing what you are going to eat for the day or what you're making for the next day's meals. I eat HORRIBLE! Truly!! No breakfast, no lunch, only dinner and then I snack until I go to bed. Is there any hope for me when it comes to my poor eating habits? Sadly...Joanna ♡

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +2

      I think you are probably being too hard on yourself. I eat dinner incredibly late and I'm not dead yet. I tried changing but it annoyed me and didn't seem to drastically improve any aspect of my quality of life..so I just went back to "being bad" lol!

    Was hooked on buying expensive skin care Estée Lauder etc. Since watching you I am definitely going to update with your recommendations. What cleanser would you recommend for dry none spot prone skin, my skin gets patchy, dry and tight. Loving your Channel really cheers me up xx

    Dr. Dray, I love your videos and was wondering if you could offer your advice with something I've been struggling with. I developed a rash with small papules from using nair near my upper lip one time a month ago and have not see much improvement with aloe. Any suggestions?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому

      I suggest you see a dermatologist for evaluation and management as this could be one of many things, each with specific interventions. I would avoid cosmetics to the area in the mean time.

    would like to know your thoughts on this..the scalp and hair theres alot of ppl pushing this new monat brand shampoo and conditioner with claims its making ppls hair grow oh so fast and that its just a miracle in a bottle..lol its very pricey too..is there a shampoo that can do that or is this just another marketing approach and ppl trying to make money off a product? was curious cause after going thru menopause my hair started to thin i take biotin an its helped a ton but im always on the search for a good shampoo. lol and by the way i went thru 3 bottles of the beet dressing..omg i was loving it ! the chili lime one too im actually loving all hillarys!

    As a dermatologist, what is your opinion of Retinaldehyde comparing to tretinoin? is there any studies on the Retinaldehyde showing their effect on skin aging? thanks,

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +3

      Retinaldehyde is pretty much useless. It is found in cosmetceuticals. Tretinoin is the best for "anti aging"

  • @adtiashok6509
    @adtiashok6509 7 років тому +3

    hi doc.. I have been prescribed a-ret gel (tretinoin 0.025%) for my post acne red spots that I have exclusively on my cheeks.. can I use it the same way you use differin (after hydroboost) or should I apply it to freshly washed, product free skin? have a good day..

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +1

      there are some subtle differences (namely you cannot combine with benzoyl peroxide, like can be done with adapalene)

    • @adtiashok6509
      @adtiashok6509 7 років тому +1

      can i use it with Neutrogena hydroboost gel doc?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +2

      Please make sure and follow the advice of your treating doctor, in case there is a reason why you should not use hydroboost...however, yes they can safely be combined without compromising the tretinoin

    but I did find nuetrogena hydraboost gel on lazada online shopping app but that doesn't look like the one you have!

    is lanolin alcohol safe to put on face doc?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +2

      Thanks!! Lanolin is safe, but like everything there is always the potential to become allergic to it (especially in eczema patients)...but not super common. Its "all natural"

    Hey Dr Dray! After watching ur skincare routine, I have to ask, what are your thoughts on serums? Since in ur routine, you dont use it...As always, keep up the great work!! Sending love from Hong Kong

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +3

      Serums fall under the auspices of "cosmeceuticals," and I am not impressed tbh. That being said, many have requested i test out some of the serums from "the Ordinary" as they are affordable, and plan to do that in the upcoming week.

    • @reneet4329
      @reneet4329 7 років тому

      Dr Dray , I'm looking forward to your review. In my experience with using some products from that line is that I didn't really see noticeable results until about 4 weeks in. I'm very happy with the changes that I've experienced but it could be that I actually started cleansing and moisturizing properly for the first time in my life! Who knows! Hahaha 😊

    • @jessicadepear2194
      @jessicadepear2194 7 років тому

      Hey Dr Dray!
      Just a quick one, but I was under the impression that a cosmeceutical is backed by clinical evidence for its results? Wouldn't that mean that some serums (among the thousands!) would actually work?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +1

      Chocolate dark they are not. They are non drugs whose ingredients, in a small studies suggest helpful, but no rigorous actual clinical data. Most serums are a huge waste of money. They are not FDA approved or regulated for efficacy or safety.

    I've always known I have had sensitive skin. Before I started any skin care (I hadn't washed my face with anything but water in years, didn't wear moisturizer or sunscreen or makeup) my skin was the softest, most supple, and acne-free. When I realized I was getting sun damage I purchased the most gentle physical sunscreens I could find (EltaMD, MDSolar), the gentle CereVe PM moisturizer, and a sensitive skin soap-free wash. Unfortunately now my face is incredibly dry and flaky and I'm getting breakouts I haven't experienced in nearly a decade. How do I continue sun protection when I have such sensitive skin that seems to react to even the most gentle products? 😭

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому

      Sunscreens marketed for babies are a good choice. Thanks for sharing this and hope you are having a great week!

  • @the_eerie_faerie_tales
    @the_eerie_faerie_tales 6 років тому +1

    I don't blow dry my hair either! Haven't for at least a decade. My hair is really long and I always hated doing it. Also made my ears hot and bright red, even on a lower setting 😳
    I haven't used a brush in a couple decades, only a wide-toothed comb. For the past couple years I stopped combing my hair right after my shower and throughout the day, instead I only comb right before I wash my hair. If I don't then the tangles just get worse, and once dry my fine hair will look (and feel) like a spiderweb went through a wind tunnel 🤣
    I'm curious how you handle the tangles yourself - or do you not really have that issue since it's on the shorter side (and appears you have thicker hair than me)? Asking because I'd love to avoid damaging my hair by combing.. but having tangles would be worse lol
    Also, I didn't hear a conditioner mentioned, what are your thoughts on those? I do use one in the shower, and a leave-in argan oil after (I wash my hair every 2-3 days, and use dry shampoo as necessary.)
    Thanks again for all your help!

      @DrDrayzday  6 років тому +1

      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +1

      Yeah i have been uploading receipt for over a year now, but not yet "cashed out" so i can't comment on how good the pay out is, but if anything it is handy because it stores the image of your receipts, so you can go back to them if you can't recall how much you paid for something in the past.

      B Villa B Villa, my hair is colored by my hairdresser. I've had no problems with Head and Shoulders shampoo ( zinc), and occasional apple cider vinegar ( half strength) pre-shampoo rinse. Not sure about the other ingredients...

    8K subscribers! Congrats! You are on the way to become a UA-cam celebrity ;)
    With regards to tretinoin, do you know any difference as in efficacy for 0.025% and 0.1%? I remember you said 2.5% benzoyl peroxide is just as effective as 10%, so I wonder if it is true with tretinoin as well.
    Thank you and have a good night :)

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому

      Thanks so much for your support! Tretinoin 0.025% has less irritation than 0.1%, but rate of clearance is a bit more prolonged with lower percent strengths...however, people tend to tolerate the lower strength better, and so compliance is improved and when compliance is better (i.e you actually use it) the efficacy is better, lol

    • @adrianw.8700
      @adrianw.8700 7 років тому

      Dr Dray That makes so much sense :) I totally adopt your skin care philosophy: simple is better, consistency is the key; less is more, sunscreen is essential.
      Thanks so much for taking your free time to reply to many of our replies. You are truly a nice and great dermatologist. No wonder so many people subscribed and love your channel. I'm happy to one of your diehard fans and subscribers. Have a good one :)

    dr dray can you do a Q & A about oily yet flaky skin. I am a grease ball pretty much, but when it's super flaky, what is causing that? mostly around the T-zone is where I am oily and flaky. it doesn't add up.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for the suggestion, but this can be due to a variety of skin conditions, so best to seek evaluation and management to arrive at a diagnosis. A video on the symptoms alone, rather than the actual condition, would be misleading.
