As an orthodox catechumen coming from a (Calvinist) Protestant background, it was such a relief learning the nuances of intersession. We are all alive in Christ and it was so comforting to know that our Holy Mother and the saints can intercede for us and help us. God bless ☦️

@@brutus896 the Holy Spirit played a HUGE role in humbling my heart, opening my eyes, and leading me into truth as I read God's Word, just as Christ promised us. It wasn't easy at all to set aside my preconceived ideas and allow Him to teach me from the Scriptures. It was only by His grace. He showed up in miraculously tangible ways to confirm his leading, too! Many blessings in Christ 🤗
@jecolibri1803 You gotta ask yourself if it was really the Holy Spirit. The Bible says not to believe every spirit but to test the spirits to see whether they are of God. Did you do that? Do you know how to do that? Roman Catholic religion denies the sufficiency of Jesus and His Word with its man made teachings. I suggest that you research your religion. The Holy Spirit wouldn't lead you to a religious institution that denies Jesus and His Word.
I am Orthodox and I approve this message. I hope one day all churches can unit in the Body of Christ. I usually tell my Protestant brethren that when we ask saints to pray for us, God then relays all our prayers to them since they cannot hear all prayers at the same time, but this could be a possible response as well.
Im a protestant and I dont think that my catholic brothers or sisters are idolaters for praying to the saints or the virgin mary. Its just wasn't how i was taught to pray. I dont see a problem with and i wish we would focus on what we have in common besides what makes us different.
Intercession of the saints was one of the biggest objections I had to overcome when I dabbled in Protestantism, now as a practicing Catholic I can see how easily the objection is refuted. We become partakes of the divine nature here on earth and even more so in Heaven, and the saints are not “dead” they are more alive than we are
Amen! Same here. Unfortunately, the active role of Mary and the Saints in the life of a believer remains the greatest stumbling block for those closest to me.
It has nothing to do with what you think saints can or might be doing and everything to do with what God told you to do. Which is to worship Him. He wants to have a relationship with you. This can only occur in the same way we living beings have relationships with each other. By talking to each other directly. We don't talk through friends of friends. Christianity is a relationship. It is not a religion. The only way to build a relationship is through trust, love and communication which is exactly what Jesus commands us to do. So when you talk to God directly and don't usurp his love by handing notes too your dead classmates to pass on to Him are you building this love and trust up. Why would you want to waste what limited time you have on this Earth on asking any one heavenly being for help but the one who calls on you to pray to Him and love Him. Do you get it now? So spend what time you have left building your relationship with your Maker who loves you so very much...

"prayer to Mary would cause her unbearable sadness" She held the body of her broken son in her hands... Think she could handle our pain without flinching
The words of Simeon the prophet came true that Good Friday. A sword pierced her own soul just as the lance pierced Christ's body as he hung from the cross.
It's not our pain she's handling. It's the same issue that Paul and Barnabas had when the people started worshiping them as gods. They were taken in grief over the idolatry and tore their cloths.
Only an infinite being is made to handle infinite suffering. It has nothing to do with what you think God or Mary can do and everything to do with what God told you to do. Which is to worship Him. Mentioning the devil at 5:20...that's Trent throwing the gauntlet at this anti-Catholic argument against the intercession of saints. I have never thought of it from that perspective. 🔥
It's a good point. Because it reveals that the end point of that argument is the heresy of Manicheanism. If having a whole bunch of power equals infinite power, then that would profess the devil and evil to be equal in force to the Lord and goodness.
In this case, the devil is essentially a metaphor for demonic activity. During the Blitz, when the air raid siren went, people were likely to say something like, "There's old Hitler at it again." Of course, Hitler was not flying the planes or dropping the bombs, but he was organizing the whole activity. The devil is not omniscient.
How does Peter’s metaphor of a lion roaming around looking for prey show that the satan can tempt many people at once? Doesn’t that infer that he is localized if he is like a lion? It seems to undercut rather than support the claim.
Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for what you do Trent. Your hard work has helped me grow in understanding our theology as well as having better discussions about it. Recently, I had a discussion with a friend about abortion and had managed to at least make him pause and consider my positions, which had been strengthened by your work.. Keep up the good work!
Funny how my evangelical friends and family believe the Lord can give them supernatural knowledge to pray for someone, such as a sudden inclination to pray for someone, but they do not believe He can do that with the Saints in Heaven.
They always argue like they lack faith or truly don’t believe God is omnipotent. How is He all powerful but can’t do something so tiny like grant the saints the ability to hear prayers? He can do ANYTHING! 🙄
The original Protestants, Lutheran and reformed, did not believe this. It’s a development in Protestant theology that’s happened over time, and I think has way more to do with the influence of secular materialism than it does the influence of historic Protestant theology.

Thank you for talking about this! I said Hail Mary once for respect while praying with my Catholic family and my Baptist friend got very mad! She said that I was worshiping idols and that Mary can't hear me. I'm Anglican but I don't like how many misconceptions about Catholicism there are, it's very sad that so many people don't understand what Catholics mean!
Each time one of them used the word "omniscient", I thought of Inigo Montoya's line from The Princess Bride: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Hearing the prayers of millions of people at the same time is a minuscule bit of knowledge compared to all that God knows. It doesn't even begin to approach omniscience. Human beings are very limited beings. In death, we'll still be limited beings, but that doesn't mean we'll be limited exactly the way we are now. In fact, we will definitely be less limited, because we won't be bound by our bodies. Our intellectual capabilities could be increased a millionfold in death, and they'd still be tiny compared to God's complete knowledge of everything.

Today the Church is celebrating her dignity as mother of the Saints, an image of the eternal city, and displays her beauty as the immaculate Bride of Christ, source and model of all Holiness. She certainly does not lack contentious or even rebellious children, but it is in the saints that she recognizes her characteristic features and precisely in them savors her deepest joy. ~ Holy Pope Benedict XVI

If someone insist that people are dead and not alive, they do not believe in the ressurection of the dead that is ocurring (present, not future), therefore they dont believe Jesus ressurected, its in the bible.
@@michaelbrunsdon8938 It's not an issue of denying the resurrection it's an issue of others (all who pray to the dead saints) seeking to conflate the dynamic between one who is alive in the flesh and one who is alive in the spirit. As a Protestant the angle I’d take on the Marian devotions is even if she could do one prayer at a time, being in Paradise with God means you’re outside space and time, so she could pray for each one.
Mary and the Saints are alive in Heaven praying for us. Heaven is outside of time and can contemplate each prayer "at her leisure." In other words, time is not a constraint for the Saints.

Fundamentally, most people believe in a false idea of heaven. Specifically, most people believe that heaven is a state of ignorant bliss, basking in comforts being lavished upon them by God, usually in the company of their friends. In other words, people believe heaven is like a nice vacation. But this is not at all what heaven is like--in fact the exact opposite. Rather, because heaven is being united to God in perfect communion, where are all God-like, heaven is instead a state of intense love, and moreover, loving as God loves. In other words, to be in heaven is to be a member of God's household, carrying out the work of God's household, which is love for all in heaven and on earth. In such a view of heaven, it is almost insulting to suggest that the saints are not eagerly desiring and working for our good, for love is the exact opposite of such apathy.

@@TheCounselofTrent Timestamp 4:23 God wouldn't torture the saints, He wouldn't force the saints to constantly listen to millions of *unfiltered* mundane prayers without breaks to determine which ones are appropriate to reroute to God. Heaven is blissful and silence is golden. Catholics must believe every prayer by Catholics must reach Mary, regardless of its content. Since Mary has no power to refuse to hear intercession, only the power to grant intercessions.
The thing that always strikes me about arguments like the first video, is their "the saints are just dead" argument. Because that denies the promise of everlasting life in Heaven...which is really the only important thing offered in Christianity. What are they practicing for if they will just die? Sure sounds like a heretical belief. And in that line of reason, God can give you eternal life, which is supernatural, but he can't give saints the ability to be aware of people on Earth. Hmmm...
“Only God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent! It’s not possible for the saints to hear prayers!” Protestants sure argue like they lack faith and truly don’t believe God isn’t all powerful. They can hear our prayers because He can do anything he wants or chooses, if he wants to grant them the task of offering prayers so be it! “So God can’t do that himself?” Yes he Can but if he chooses to allow saints to help who are we to question Him? Why did he create Angels, can’t He fight demons Himself, can’t he deliver messages Himself? The point is because HE CHOOSES TO!
The Bible teaches that the dead are sleeping to be awakened at the Resurrection Day. Jesus said about Lazarus who died, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up” (John 11:11). After death a person: returns to dust (Psalms 104:29), knows nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5), possesses no mental powers (Psalms 146:4), has nothing to do with anything on earth (Ecclesiastes 9:6), does not live (2 Kings 20:1), waits in the grave (Job 17:13), and continues not (Job 14:1, 2) until the Resurrection Day. There would be no purpose in a resurrection if people were taken to heaven at death.
Yes God does give the saints eternal life, but unfortunately, the biggest issue wasnt addressed in this video: you all still bend your knee to lifeless statues. Thats idolatry. I wonder why he didnt try to defend that one…
@@tfr2602 Doesnt matter how you wanna spin it. You take part in the same actions as hindus, and you both justify it the same way too. You have more respect for lifeless blocks of stone than for your neighbor. Have fun answering to God for that one.
I have often thought about Our Blessed Mother's tears when She should have nothing but joy in Heaven. Her apparitions confirm Her sadness. It amazes me how simplistic Protestants can be in assuming God has limits in the powers, gifts and graces He can give to Saints ...and us. There is one very powerful reason to pray to Mary and the saints. Jesus will come in justice and mercy. Mary and the saints only offer mercy through their intercession and help. When I face God to receive the justice I deserve, I hope my Blessed Mother will be in my corner.

@@mitchellosmer1293 Thanks for such a comprehensive reply. Unfortunately the arguments do not hold, at least in my eyes. Every Old Testament reference would have held true until the Crucifixion when Jesus descended to Hell and opened the gates of heaven to those there who were then able to go to Heaven (including the good thief). The reference to John was true at that time as Jesus was the only person at that time to have ascended into heaven bodily. It could not be a reference to souls, because by the time John wrote that there would have been souls in Heaven. The other New Testament references seem to say nothing in support of the argument that we cannot ask the saints to intercede for us. We die, our souls leave our bodies and there is particular judgment sure - agreed. Every canonized saint has had verifiable miracles attributed to them and their lives scrutinised carefully by the church. The testimonies of miracles from saints is overwhelming. If you do not believe that due to being limited by sola scriptura, that is fine, that is up to you. I do believe. The evidence is overwhelming.

Unfortunately, theres no defending the fact that catholics bend their knee to statues and actively encourage others to do it as well. This is an explicit act of idolatry. Alongside that, they burn incense on altars made for these statues. Its an abomination that God already jusged Israel for. Catholics ought to be trembling for this.
@@brittoncain5090 Its part of it. Catholics also dress up Mary’s statues with nice clothes and flower wreaths. Its something Hindus do to their statues of Vishna and Radha. Catholic and Hindu treatment of statues are extremely similar. Even if you dont think its worship, unbelievers probably will
Heretics often make good, simple to understand points on a range of articles of faith, but can never "do good work overall". However, in this case, a UA-camr of seemingly low intelligence, reducing the Blessed Virgin to the status of "a dead woman in heaven", cannot be said to even do that.

The boldness a James White to speak on behalf of Mary and the Saints with such confidence is scary. He is claiming to speak on their behalf, God forgive us for our arrogance.
He is only preaching on what is revealed to him by the word of God. How is that arrogant? It is more arrogant to believe that anyone who was once an imperfect wretch such as ourselves is given any more gifts beyond the one Christ have us. Being in His house is enough. God doesn't need the prayers from the family within His parlor. He needs them from the living sinners on earth. He wants a relationship with us. How do you optimally maintain a relationship with someone you love? You communicate with them directly. It has nothing to do with what you think God or the saints can do and everything to do with what God told you to do. So when you talk to God directly and don't usurp his love by handing notes to your dead classmates to pass on to Him are you building this love and trust up. Why would you want to waste what limited time you have on this Earth on asking any one heavenly being for help but the one who calls on you to pray to Him and love Him. Do you get it now? Spend what time you have left building your relationship with your Maker who loves you so very much...

Hey Trent, possible video topic to dive into along these lines: Soul Sleep. It really seems to me that many Protestants reject the consciousness of the saints, the intermediate state, purgatory etc. and stress an interpretation of the promises of Christ as only applying to do with the Final Judgement. Many of them don't say it outright, but they seem to be tacitly professing the old Lutheran doctrine of soul sleep.
Staring into the casket whispering “I love you grandma” looking at a photo months later “I miss you grandma” uhhh she’s dead, she can’t hear you remember, why are you talking to her? Imagine how much of a jerk I’d be if I said that. Oh protestant logic 🙄 lol
Unfortunately, most catholics bend their knee to statues of saints and make altars where they can sacrifice their wealth to the statues and burn incense before them. You’re going to have reckon with that one at the judgement seat.
@@brutus896 Exactly! The definition of “Magisterial Protestants”, like Lutherans, for example: the ones who follow a man-made magisterium (=teaching authority). Thanks for remembering us all and illustrating it. God bless!
@@brutus896 This might surprise you to know but catholic teaching has the same amount of dogma as Protestant teaching does. At least the versions of Protestantism that have authoritative teaching - such as Lutheran or Presbyterian. There are a certain amount of theological issues. Some issues both sides agree on, and then on other issues there is a catholic position and a Protestant position. As far as I know, there’s nothing that catholics have a position on that Protestantism doesn’t.
I have very little time these Protestants who make these claims. Great video, thank you Trent I know James doesn’t actually believe that “it’s not the devil, it’s his demons” point but even if he did wouldn’t the knowledge required to create a bespoke demon capable of tempting each individual require as much knowledge as being able to tempt them all personally?

I love when Protestants try to accuse catholics of idolatry over this issue. Little do many of them know that Martin Luther accepted all of the Catholic doctrines on Mary including her assumption which was not even a dogma yet.
@jacktracy8356 that's not true, he included Marion doctrines in his later works as did Calvin. Pretty much all of the reformers believed in things like Mary's perpetual virginity.
@@kentadamson6992 Mary was not a perpetual virgin. After Christ was born she and her husband Joseph came together according to the law with the marriage bed undefiled. Whence then hath this man all these things?
@jacktracy8356 the Greek word for brother doesn't always mean biological brothers. The word is used in many different ways in scripture. I know it drives Protestants nuts, but the idea that Mary was not a perpetual virgin is a new belief and not historical.
This argument against Mary and the saints is also the atheist’s argument against God. These Evangelicals forget that Mary and the saints are NOT dead. They also do not seem to believe that all things are possible with God. God can do whatever He wants and share His power with any being He chooses to. What Evangelicals are really saying is- We don’t believe God can do as He pleases…. 😊😊😊😊
These catholics seem to forget that Jesus is alive and is the ONLY mediator between God and man. NOT MARY OR DEAD SAIINTS. What catholics are really saying is that our prayers are weak, so let's have Mary pray for us. Surely Jesus will listen to his mom 😅 Catholics also do not seem to believe that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us (the saints). Which are believers in Jesus.
@@brutus896 I am happy to inform you that the Catholic Church teaches that Jesus Christ is the ONE AND ONLY MEDIATOR between God and mankind. Catechism of the Catholic Church 480. @@petertherock7340 Catholics seem not to understand the "saints" are you and me, the living believers. Catholics also seem not to understand the state of the dead as the bible teaches.
@@wesleysimelane3423 Sorry, but the heresy of “soul sleep” has been debunked many times over. The SDA schism is unbiblical and wrong. St. Paul tells us plainly that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5: 8. Ellen G White was simply an uneducated loon who misread, misunderstood, and mistook the teaching of Sacred Scripture. The Jehovah’s Witnesses followed suit after the Millerites and Adventist heretics on this issue as well. The saints are not dead. They are more alive than we are…. forever! 🙏. P.S. You would do well next time to not misquote “wisdom literature” and Hebrew poetry in the Bible to justify your heresy. The Bible is a library of books with different genres which need to be considered in context. In Matthew 17: 1-13 Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus as he was transfigured on the mountain. Soul sleep? The Bible clearly says “no.” Once again the Catholic Church is correct! 😜. “… I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is NOT the God of the dead but of the living. You are greatly misled.” Mark 12: 26b-27. 👍
@@wesleysimelane3423 People questioning the idea of asking a saint to pray for them perceive that those who are dead in Christ are disconnected from those on earth, so to ask for intercession to someone who is dead seems like a useless proposition. Non-Catholics are quick to pray for one another, but to pray for the dead or ask the intercession of those who are dead is not only foreign, it’s a bit suspect. So in order to explain why we ask Mary and the saints to pray for us, we need to explain that there is a connection between the Body of Christ that is already in heaven and those who are still on earth. Though a person is no longer living on earth, that does not mean they are not living. We have a relationship with those who are living in heaven, and that during the Mass heaven and earth connect. Once that difference is explained, you can make the connection that asking Mary or the saints is like asking a friend here on earth to pray for you. Catholics also believe that a saint in heaven has a better connection to Christ, since they are right there with him. Part of the problem of explaining the communion of saints to non-Catholics is that the Bible that they use does not have the books that mention praying for the dead and asking for the intercession of angels, so trying to quote those Scriptures will not be accepted. However, there are some verses in Revelation that talk about the prayers of the saints. For example, Revelation 5:8: And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And Revelation 8:3-4: And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God. Of course for those in heaven, there is no need for prayers, so the prayers of the saints are for those on earth. If saints are praying for us, why not implore them with something specific? That is how we on earth ask each other. If the Body of Christ is not separated, then it would be wrong to say we can’t ask members of the Body of Christ in heaven to pray for us, because that would be a denial of the unity of Christ. It can also be helpful to point out the role of Bathsheba in the Old Testament as the Queen Mother to Solomon, who interceded for people on their behalf. So too the Queen Mother of heaven can intercede for us. One through Love Romans 8:35-39 talks about all of us being together in the love of God. If nothing can separate us from God’s love, how can we be separate from one another who are held together in God’s love? In Mark 12:24-27, Jesus talks about the resurrection and proclaims that God is a God of the living, not of the dead and that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob still live. This Scripture verse reinforces that those who die in faith are not dead. If they are not dead, then they are part of the kingdom of heaven, which is both in heaven and on earth. And so it follows that if we are connected, we can ask for the prayers of those in heaven who are part of God’s kingdom.
Saying Mary’s supposed omniscience is based on the hearing of so many prayers implies that there is a certain number of prayers she could hear and not be omniscient. I’m curious what that number would be. Could 5 people pray to her without it being idolatrous? What about 10? 100? Even 1,000,000 consecutive prayers is still infinitely far away from how many God can hear at once.
What do you mean pray to her? How is asking someone to pray for us idolatry? Idolatry is when you worship a false god. 1. No one worships Mary. 2. Mary is not a false god.
Why would you think that people in the direct presence of Jesus would NOT want to petition Him on our behalf? That is so bizarre to me. Jimmy Akin made a very interesting point about this when he conveyed to us about asking his dying wife to pray for him when she was in Heaven. She is now in Heaven. Do you have a problem with Jimmy asking his wife for this intercession?

The heretic is the one does not believe in the word of God alone but will accept traditions of men over scripture any day, believing also in mystics, apparitions, visionaries, catechism etc a mixed bag of pagan heresies.
As a Lutheran I have been looking into Catholicism heavily, especially given the historical pedigree around the church. I would love nothing more than to come into communion with the church Jesus started, assuming it’s actually true… But praying to Saints among several practices/dogmas do present hurtles for me that I have not resolved as of yet. First off, nobody on the Protestant side is suggesting God couldn’t give the Saints these abilities to receive and disseminate prayers. But it doesn’t stand to reason to simply conclude that he has. I do think Trent’s comparison to satan being presumed to be active all around the world in such great capacity was a brilliant point. That was the best argument I’ve ever heard on this issue. But I do still struggle getting past this. For the practice of praying to the Saints in heaven to be sensible, human beings must gain some kind of telepathic powers (whether direct or mediated) upon death. But what evidence, aside from mere question-begging assertion, do Catholics have for this? In what way is believing that at least some humans who have passed on have these kinds of supernatural powers any different from deifying them? Functionally speaking, praying to the saints in general seems to be indistinguishable from a kind of ancestor-worship; and in particular cases is identical to the most overt forms of polytheism. This is very clearly suggested by some of the prayers I’ve seen documented that are directed to the Saints and especially to Mary. Also, the idea of patron saints seems to fully conform to polytheism by bestowing on them some special power they excel at. For example, if you lose your keys, pray to Saint Anthony. Catholics also pray to angels, which are not even a part of the body of Christ. I really do want some clarity and peace on this issue. For I fear if it’s wrong, I and all who participated would be gravely guilty of the 1st commandment. So any help anyone could provide on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Look into theosis/divinization. The Church is the Body of Christ, were to become like Jesus Christ in every way possible in Ephesians 4. In John 6 v 56 its Jesus thats residing in every person that participates in holy communion. I think the parable the Jesus gives of Abraham in heaven is telling too. Abraham knows of the rich mans sins and past. They're is a large chasm between them and yet they are able to communicate. Luke 16:19-31 Were not gaining telepathic powers, were just participating in the same divine relationship that Jesus Christ did through him in the Church.

Welcome home
@@brutus896 the Holy Spirit played a HUGE role in humbling my heart, opening my eyes, and leading me into truth as I read God's Word, just as Christ promised us. It wasn't easy at all to set aside my preconceived ideas and allow Him to teach me from the Scriptures. It was only by His grace. He showed up in miraculously tangible ways to confirm his leading, too! Many blessings in Christ 🤗
Saints can be a best friend you can always count on.
@brutus896 denies Jesus? What an absolute goof. What denomination are you, ignoramous?

I usually tell my Protestant brethren that when we ask saints to pray for us, God then relays all our prayers to them since they cannot hear all prayers at the same time, but this could be a possible response as well.
The Orthodox (Eastern Churches) are our brothers and sisters ❤
@@MuneneCaleb The feeling is mutual, despite our issues with one another, I always stand up for the Church of Rome when Protestants attack her.

I experienced the EXACT same response to that statement🕊️
The words of Simeon the prophet came true that Good Friday. A sword pierced her own soul just as the lance pierced Christ's body as he hung from the cross.
It's not our pain she's handling. It's the same issue that Paul and Barnabas had when the people started worshiping them as gods. They were taken in grief over the idolatry and tore their cloths.
Only an infinite being is made to handle infinite suffering.

I do not think it means what you think it means."
Hearing the prayers of millions of people at the same time is a minuscule bit of knowledge compared to all that God knows. It doesn't even begin to approach omniscience.
Human beings are very limited beings. In death, we'll still be limited beings, but that doesn't mean we'll be limited exactly the way we are now. In fact, we will definitely be less limited, because we won't be bound by our bodies.

Happy All Saints Day!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Have just finished All Souls Day Mass. We’re one day ahead here in Australia
Happy All Saints Day my Catholic fellas I'm genuinely excited ✝️
@@angelosophy Because it's a different topic altogether. He has addressed the topic you point out in other videos, however. Take a look.
@@tfr2602 Doesnt matter how you wanna spin it. You take part in the same actions as hindus, and you both justify it the same way too. You have more respect for lifeless blocks of stone than for your neighbor. Have fun answering to God for that one.
Happy All Saints Day!!
Indeed the saints and angels in heaven still love and care for us
I just prefer to talk to Jesus. I have direct access to God. His ears are open to me. I'm so thankful for that.
Thank you so much for this on All Saints Day!

@@brittoncain5090 Its part of it. Catholics also dress up Mary’s statues with nice clothes and flower wreaths. Its something Hindus do to their statues of Vishna and Radha. Catholic and Hindu treatment of statues are extremely similar. Even if you dont think its worship, unbelievers probably will
It's a shame that the abolitionist rising guy is so confused by his protestantism. They do good work overall. Saying a Hail Mary for him.
Is that under a restricted definition of "good work overall"?

I love when Protestants try to accuse catholics of idolatry over this issue. Little do many of them know that Martin Luther accepted all of the Catholic doctrines on Mary including her assumption which was not even a dogma yet.
Not after he was forgiven of all sin and began to read the Bible. It took time to shake off tradition and rely only on the Holy Scriptures.
@jacktracy8356 that's not true, he included Marion doctrines in his later works as did Calvin. Pretty much all of the reformers believed in things like Mary's perpetual virginity.

Surely Jesus will listen to his mom 😅
Catholics also do not seem to believe that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us (the saints).
For example, Revelation 5:8:
And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And Revelation 8:3-4:
And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God.
One through Love
Romans 8:35-39 talks about all of us being together in the love of God.

Awesome response when you look at the way Satan works. Best explanation I have heard in a while. Stumped then stutter!!!
Luke 16:19-31
Were not gaining telepathic powers, were just participating in the same divine relationship that Jesus Christ did through him in the Church.
