1st floor room and wheel them in or a hotel room with a storage room for bikes? Maybe park out in front of the main office where there’s lots of traffic and security cameras?
Best thing you can do which is much simpler: get a pewag chain and cover it in a chain sleeve or inner tube. Then get an Abus or abloy lock. Run the chain though the frame of both bikes and then the frame of the truck. Even a battery angle grinder will take several minutes to get through a pewag. And chance at that will create a lot of attention. Get rid of the rest. Maybe keep the New York u lock and throw that on between the frames of the two bikes. That’s going to be mmWave more work that most thrives would go through unless you have two high end bikes.
How about a safe way to lock bikes on hitch mout bike rack? Recently had $10,000 worth of bikes stolen off a thule T2 pro hitch mount bike rack using their tiny cable lock that was part of the bike rack. It happened when traveling on the back of our car when stopped to do a thirty min hike where no bikes were allowed. Been thinking some way to rig up two beefy chain locks like Hiplok. I know no system is perfect. Just want to be able to leave them on the car for a few hours say at national park parking lot or the like. Bikes won't fit in the car with all our camping gear. Any ideas would be super helpful! Thank you in advance!
@@randallgd Thats what I have - a hitch mount rack. Get a long enough pewag to run through the frame of the biike, down through something on the rack (if your rack has a suitable spot) but most importantly run it through something solid on the car.
Cable locks aren’t worth the time to put them on. It takes less time to shear them than to put them on. The hitch pin lock can be silently popped off with a flat bar, the the whole rack and each bike can be put on eBay by some dumb young crack heads to buy their next high.

the cost of the locks is higher than the cost of the bikes!! You have too many to unlock ^_*
A Fort Knox of various locks and cables. It’s too bad we have to guard our things so securely from others.
Ten seconds with a portable bandsaw on that hitch adapter, they can take your whole set up to go
There’s always a way to steal shit but you’re doing a good job at making it annoying for sure

Run the cable thru the rims do you don't need that plugs on the rims bolts
A pipe on that master lock at the hitch adapter and the whole setup is gone to cut away the other locks at another time in private. Maybe 30secs.
Very helpful. Thanks
2 vertical support has standard bolt..
what if they unscrew your your trailer hitch??
He locked it in. They have to cut it first.
Thats a lot of locks. Hope it works. If they wanted something that bad theres away theres a will.
Bolt cutters will go through the cable in 5 seconds!
I don't care what they say at the hotel I was taking my bike inside my room
