I bought both Sonic Generations and Lost World on the 3ds months ago and I think they are both really good especially by 3ds standards imo I had a lot of fun playing both games.
It just has a lot of wasted potential, I mean the promotion said that the 3ds version was gonna be a celebration of the handheld sonic games(i.e the game gear games, GBA and DS)
I LOVE sonic generations i haven't played the home console version but im very exited for sonic X shadow generations. I mean i loved the 3DS version already.
I got my 3DS modded I've been exploring these games myself and I can say Sonic generation on the 3DS is not that bad not as good as the console version but for a handheld I think it fun

I honestly think that Lost World is better on the 3DS and also pretty close graphically to the Wii U version for what it is and the fact that it was released in 2013 by SEGA and not Nintendo, which made the 3DS
I played sonic colors on my 3ds when i was younger. I still have the exact cartridge to this day, and whenever i buy a new working 3/2DS (I swear im cursed, they keep breaking) i always pop it in for a couple acts. I also played wii colors recently. I beat it in a day and i working on 100%, but honestly i think the ds version was better just because wii feels like one big cutscene sometimes and its red rings are also very cryptic. I still like both of them, but if i had to choose it would be ds
I've had my copies of Generations and Lost World for a long time now, and I genuinely think these games are amazing for the console they are on. I personally 100% Generations 3DS TWICE and love it still to this day.
I am confused as to what you use to justify as "they aren't as bad" like what games in specific are you comparing them to? DS games? GBA games? Wii games?
tbh the 3ds resolution stinks imagine saying that the 3ds resolution is 800x ... you will usually expect 480 or 600 but NO its 800 x 240 but its pretty mid
Sonic Generations, it's one of the best 2d platform games on the 3ds is a bit short, but it's really a very good game, I personally enjoyed Sonic Generations 3ds more than New Super mario bros 2.

My first 3ds game/first game ever was Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed for the 3DS. I enjoyed it a lot
Generations 3DS is fantastic. Lots of fun chasing the S ranks, and the 2.5D graphics are impressive for the console.

Generations is mid, lost world starts great but nosedives after world 2, and I think shattered crystal is fine for what it is imo
