The town of Freiburg is on the edge of the Black Forest. I came here in hopes of finding a cool little town with the potential for some locations to photograph that would be both city and nature. I have a lot more time here in town than most would take. But, the goal, when I'm not on assignments right now, is to slow travel a bit more; Freiburg seemed like the perfect place to do that. I'm glad I chose Freiburg, too. This little German city is really cool. It's a bit of a university town, so the vibe is great. Lots of youth, lots of fun, and it's beautiful as well; I kind of love it.
On the travel vlog today, I woke up before sunrise to head to the classic view of Freiburg to shoot some photography in the blue hour. It was a really fun location to shoot. The tram being there might have bothered some people, but I loved the contrast between modern and classic. I think that's one of the things I love about Freiburg in general: it's a great mix of old and new.
Then, in the afternoon, I popped up to a viewpoint above the city to photograph sunset. Again, it was fantastic. The light was crazy, and although the backlight made the photography a bit of a challenge, it was a fun location to shoot and a beautiful place to watch the day in Freiburg come to an end.
Tomorrow there isn't another Germany travel vlog. It's time for me to do another one of my monthly round ups. I know I'm behind on it, but it's coming tomorrow.
Then, there will be another vlog from here in Freiburg im Breigau. I'm thinking of renting a car and going to look for castles! That should be fun.
Thanks for covering my home town Freiburg so beautifully! As your pictures and videos show well, Freiburg is a GREEN city. We love it like that! Every tree cut down brings tears to the people.
If you want to have fun for a day, Europa Park is an awesome amusment park not far from Freibourg.
I miss my Germany 🇩🇪 so much. Will be there in March. If you want great photography travel to Heidelberg.

Freiburg's a great town, beautiful old buildings and a student nightlife! There's a cable car nearby that takes you right up into the forest proper, great views along the way. Also, that viewpoint with the tree you were at, I got dumped there :/ Nice view though!

It was a long time ago but I think it's the Schauinslandbahn Talstation. I remember we took a bus (or maybe tram) out of the city for a short journey and it was a fairly long and pretty ride up. This place seems to match.
