- How to clean Water Can (20 Litres). Water Can Cleaning at home. Do it yourself.
Don't use detergents or chemicals. Just use Rock Salt. Do it once in two weeks. The water can will remain clean forever.
The same method can be used to clean water bottles, flasks etc.
Waaaahhh!!! Iam from Tamilnadu. we had 4 Water can's like this which we thought to put to scrap for 10 RS, but after watching your video, I tooked a cup full of salt & started to do the same as what u have done in this video, My wife said to me that I'M wasting my time & my energy but after 10 mins my wife was really happy to see that the can became as new. Thanks for this video, even regular sand or rice works other than rock salt. Even we can use baking soda with hot water but need to keep little longer. First time when i cleaned after long time, i felt dirty realizing how much dirt and fungus gets accumulated. This is simple but effective and work for sure.
There are ready made powder also available to clean but just rice or rock salt works for sure.
Thanks Dude. The sand that i collected from a nearby river, worked better than rock salt. I took one mug of sand and one mug of water, and stirred it well. Voila! All green algae is gone. By adding water to the sand, my efforts were reduced by almost one fourth. I think, any abrasive material with sufficient grain size will do the job.

Ahhh it worked perfectly!!!! Thank you so much for this video... I used to clean it with a brush but as u said in an earlier comment the sides dont clean up with a brush only the bottom part gets cleaned and I used to get really irriated with it... Hence was searching for some remedy and landed up here and watched your video and tried it quickly as I has rock salt at home and now my bottle is all clean! Thanx once again!!!

Worked really well, had this algae problem from past 10 days, was thinking wat to do, though I got the idea of some rough crystals when shaken in the can would clean it, but never realised that the rough crystals could b this rock salt. . When I searched in UA-cam, found ur video and it made me think like:- "Damn I was close"; well, anyways thanks a lot bro. High-five😂

Great idea! I’m going to mix mine with some cheap vodka. It won’t dissolve the salt and should make it a bit easier to clean.
Can you use this on glass jugs? My guess is yes but want to make sure ...

Breaking News : So I went to a Small Local Supermarket, looking for Coarse Rock Salt, what I Bought.... Was " Morton Ice Cream Salt--- a Carton of 4- Lbs. For $2.49, plus State Tax. I put a Cup of the Coarse Salt inside the Jug, with 3-4 cups of Water....shook it up wildly for 5- 8 mins. And three Jugs were Rinsed Out, and Ready to Refill with Fresh Drinking Water....from the Supermarket Water Dispenser Machine, at $1.50 per 5- Gallons. All is Well, and Sanitary....!! Gitterdone..!! Does it have to be rock salt? Will sea salt work?
Even rock salt is sea salt. Other than salt powder, u can use any salt
Any coarse-grain salt, like the salt crystals used for water softeners, would work best. The aim is to have the grains large and heavy enough to knock contaminants off the bottle wall while it is being shaken.
