Bronze has never appealed to me as a material for watch cases, and this Flieger hasn’t changed my mind. The GMT was the star of the show, but it also didn’t have much competition
A nice trio Jody! As my daughter would say when she was starting to talk, I like the one in the miggle. 😁 I think, apart from the dial, SM did make an effort to make the Patek homage look different enough not to be confused with the original. I don't like the design of either to be honest.

Another great video Jody, 1. The fleiger is very nice, but up against similarly priced alternatives from the likes of Laco… I think “heritage” can be overstated in the watch space… but it plays a part and in this case I’d seriously look at “the original “ (or one them) brands. 2. In many ways I think the San Martin is the better choice than the Tudor… better set of dimensions than the Tudor, especially case height… similar level of finish… out of the three shown today I think this is SM’s biggest “win”. I’d love to see a three-way review between the Tudor, the San Martin and the Timex Q homage… The last watch is clearly influenced by the aquanaut, but very much it’s own design… I find the aquanaut quite an “awkward” looking watch, the rounded off polygonal bezel a bit too rounded off, so it’s neither one thing or the other… a polygon or a circle… I actually think the San Martin case is a less jarring design. I’m not a fan of the protruding (oversized?) unprotected crown on the SM on this model though, just doesn’t work as well as the more integrated crown on the Aquanaut (oh, I have seen one in the flesh, up close on wrist, and it’s a lovely thing… but not $20k lovely… imho… Veblen pricing eh? Not going to work on me or many of my fellow Scotsmen I suspect Jody!

Hey Jody, the third watch with the PP Aquanaut dial, seems to have a 1:1 case with my old Tag Heuer CR2111 Monza. The dial is obviously faux-Patek, but the case seems to be identical to the Tag Heuer Monza.
The GMT is not a 1:1 copy. It's improved the original. Smaller diameter, thinner case, cleaner bracelet (no fake rivets), better designed hands (the GMT one is more legible and its diamond and that of the seconds hand are aligned). So, definetely a better watch 😊
1. Bronze the clear winner. Nice focuses design. 2. The Timex even looks cheap and nasty thousands of miles away here in LA. 3. Nice except … WTF with the huge 12 triangle and the 3,6,&9 batons? Three nice pieces from San Martin and another great video from Jody. As we've come to expect from both of them now. I've reviewed a couple of interesting ones myself fairly recently too. One of which was a Benrus homage. The other was a pretty cool combination of bronze and titanium.
Jody you missed the Eterna 1939, whose case the third watch prertt much copies. It looks a lot less like the Patek, which really isn't what this watch was trying to ape. Even the SM's caseback is largely the same as Eterna's 2014 reissue of the original from 1939.
I already have the 1st one bronze fleiger,lovely watch. I must admit l would like the Tudor style GMT,be a nice extra to my growing collection of San Martins.
Very impressive with all 3 watches. My first San Martin was around 5 years, was the 62mas with a with a beautiful back case in grave, I think for money there asking, there up there in my humble opinion, you're not breaking bank..great content as always Jody.
Love the Type A Flieger and the "Tudor" GMT. I like the supposed original "Patek" also, but it's my least favorite of the three. If I were going to have someone buy one of these for me, I'd take the Flieger. I'm overall a huge fan of San Martin, though I own only one, a Type B Flieger. EDIT: Soon I'll own that Type A -- order placed.
Jody, on a side note I wouldn’t consider the Timex hands to be Mercedes. If you look at the hour hand, it forms a T (for Timex) and not the Mercedes three point star.
I really love San Martin and wanna support them (and do) but one thing I'm really tired of is that they keep giving reviewers the nice green leather boxes but then when you order yourself you get that crappy ol' generic diving suitcase. I'd rather they charged $5-10 more and give that full nice experience. It would elevate everything and their customers would be more likely to gift and share with others.
Bought one, was given one rather with the nice green box... and the tools etc...but it didn't fit and it took me ages to get an extra link to make it fit. San Martin thinks only Hobbits live in Europe?

Really you can have all the “luxury” watches you like. If you don’t mind it says San Martin. They are 100m water resist. One big hitter like a Rolex, Breitling or Omega. The rest can be fun to collect San Martin is really good.
San Martin are making it increasingly hard to justify spending 10-20x more, and if you've already spent that kind of money like me, you might be scratching your head a little...but will still buy from Helvetia 😂
I like the 3rd one the best. So much so that I bought the one on the bracelet SN0026-G-A. I like the dimensions of the gmt better than the original, but I do have smaller wrists and a 40mm is about as big as I like.
I would say it’s pretty original… I suppose it depends on your viewpoint. If you consider the Tudor Black Bay an original watch, then you have to give the San Martin it’s due. There is only so much you can do with a watches design at this point in time…
An excellent trippple unbbboxing! And I'm quite surprised* by my reaction to each watch: I've never ever been tempted to buy a bronze watch - until now! This Flieger looks terrific and it would be lovely to see the bronze mature over time! I prefer the sizing of the GMT over the Tudor - so that's a win too! Shame about the rattly first link of the bracelet, but a minor matter though. And I have NEVER seen a Patek Philippe that I actually like - until now! This SN0026 is much easier on the eye! And not to mention the hip pocket! So 3 out of 3 from me! *But as were talking about San Martin, perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised at all! 😄

SM should have gone with a tapisserie dial with a lighter color for the third watch (a la Tissot PRX Powermatic 80), so it's not a blatant homage of the Patek.
Never had a Timex last more than six months. Bought one on a whim at Wally World and the date complication broke the same day. On the contrary, I have several Citizens that are 10+ years old and still going strong. I want to like Timex cause some of their new designs are lovely but yea, I can’t give them another dime of my dough.
TL;DR We have homages for Bronce IWC, the bronce is a nice touch, I wish the markers were a diferent colour. Tudor Black Bay, strange enough the dimentions set it just enough apart from the actual Black Bay Pattek Phillipe, the so called "original" is the most fatifull homage of the bunch. all in all San Martin is quickly becoming my favorite homage brand to look at.
The first Bronze watch is so close to the IWC it is uncanny. The last watch is a nice PP homage looking watch. Reviewed the Orient Crimson Babmino 8 (yet to hit Australia) and that looks outstanding as well (on another site).
Well, despite the fact i hate rip-off like these, this follows the luftwaffe's flieger specs from ww2. This isn't a IWC exclusive, not even close. Actually the real ones were Stowa, Laco and A. Lang & söhne, just to name a few
That last Patek style looks pretty much exactly like a model from Undone watches. It's called Terra Safari. Numerals are a bit different but appart from that it's the same watch. Look it up. Seriously it looks like they just added the San Martin logo and text.
Fun fact: the eye detects yellow as brighter than white. (Yellow highlighter ink seems to jump off the page, doesn't it?). As a result, a bright yellow text on a black background is the highest contrast you can get.
The truly beautiful bit of the Aquanaut is the movement and its finishing; they've duplicated the ugly part of that watch with absolutely no attempt at the interesting part.
7" wrist as well...still on the fence on the Dekla you reviewed before. Seems 41mm would be the best choice for me too, although only 40mm and 42mm when it comes to Dekla.
If they had only not had the grid on the dial. I do like a cushion though. This would look more like a Magrette otherwise (which would also explain the leather)

I have a 37mm bronze San Martin "Flieger" that I got for around 120$ early this year and it is pretty much my perfect sized flieger.
I've never really considered a flieger but this one is spot on.

Hi Jody, the 5176A is not a Patek copy. The dial might be but the housing is a 1 to 1 copy of the Tag Heuer Monza WR2110
I like the Flieger with the sterile dial (not a big fan of the San Martin logo) and I’m intrigued by the bronze.

I really like the GMT! I own the Millsub San Martin and Im super happy with it. I believe San Martins clasps are also milled and not pressed
