    This is awesome. I first saw vertical tab stacking in Vivaldi and found it quite compelling. Now Safari has tab groups, which are similar to the Spaces in Arc, but Safari lacks much of the Chromium-based behaviour.

    _sigh_ I miss the days when you could just start your computer and use the Internet. Now everyone requires you to create usernames and password in a world of regular data breaches where personal data and usernames/passwords are stolen daily and companies tell ou to change your password as a precaution.

    I been loving Arc browser in windows but still feels like a Beta, there is a lot of missing features from his version on MacOS, customization could be a bit better, i would like the URL to be in the same spot as his MacOS version (above your favorites) and they definitely need to improve the performance, specially when you open it when it's fully closed, microsoft edge opens like in less than a second, while Arc can take up to 5 seconds or more

    Sales vs reality... I removed Arc in the end. UX is just BAD. It has weird popup video window, which is unusable. Vertical tabs is a no-go and you can't switch to horizontal. You can't customize anything, too. It consumes more RAM than competitors while being the the one with least set of features (!!!). And for some reason, Arc thinks it is important enough to remap global Keyboard Shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A to open it by breaking functionality of other apps where this shortcut is used... =( After removing, the shortcut didn't get removed, so after failing as a product, now I also need to clean after it.
    Ind if the statement is about "privacy", why does it require creation of an account to be used at all. LOL and facepalm!!!
    I'd suggest Arc team not forget that it's just another browser, not a core app, so it should know its place.

    You can get most thing with firefox CSS. As it is still very basic in windows, better to switch everything later. Edge/firefox/vivaldi even opera is now better alternative than chrome. Arc needs sometimes to include all of its features in windows version. After that, it will surely be a great browser. Meanwhile, you can try some different browsers, like sidekick, wavebox, stack next se, sigmaos(macos)

    • @fortnight_0
      @fortnight_0 4 місяці тому

      Read the website. There's like a whole lot reason why they made Arc. And they make you create an account to not lose all your pinned tabs, folders, and favorites. Maybe you'll collect enough sense to click your URL bar and search what's the use of the browser.
