Someone from the Arc team told me that you can clear your hidden browser data by scrolling back up to SMASH the like button
ok
I polish up real 💅
i did it
bruh
How did you do that bro ?
I totally get your "I want to use it bc it is so beautiful"-part a lot. The sheer amount of customization possibilities make my ricing-heart go nuts. That and the integration of Chrome extensions are wild! The only thing that degrades Arc to a media-only-browser for me is the fact that it unfortunately doesn't integrate with apple's focus modes and since that was the one feature that made me finally switch my entire eco system(s) and pay a lot of money while doing so, I sadly sadly can not go all the way. It's such a shame bc Arc strikes me as a productivity orientated browser and I'd bet it would benefit a lot from the possibility of switching spaces simply based on your activated foci.
Ahh interesting, I don’t use focus modes so didn’t even think about that
> That and the integration of Chrome extensions are wild!
Well, it _is_ Chrome under the hood with just another interface for tabs and stuff.
I dont see how the integration of Chrome extensions is wild. All browsers but Safari and Firefox have them.
Edge supports Chromium extensions too
sad how windows beta has almost no customisation:(
The second it came to Windows I signed up for its beta list and I am currently watching this video on arc.
same here
same, Love it.
yea and im salivating for all the mac features that arent in the windows version, but they keep updating so its good
so, how is it?
I've switched from opera to edge because of the vertical tabs, and now Arc is my main candidate. After you get used to it (the vertical tabs), I think it becomes much more aesthetically appealing
I can't go back to horizontal tabs to a point I decided to try turning firefox in to a vertical tab browser...
Opera got it from arc
@@Hexality it's not that bad i would say, there are some userchrome css scripts you can paste in plus using treestyletabs (or sidebery as I prefer). I've been using it for years now
I am on windows and waiting for Arc Max but what about opera one? I've been loving to so far with switchable workspaces and collapsable tab islands.
@@richiepatil there's still no good reason to use Opera One since Arc can integrate those features if the community asks for them. Also the owners of Opera have been conducting some shady financial practices which makes me suspicious about my data but thats just me
When you have UA-cam set as a favourite, it will go to a Picture in Picture view so you can save your Split View for actual work.
this is the most comprehensive arc browser video ever
like not only do u review but u also like properly show it
this should be an official guide for it lmao
i've been using it since it was in beta, even though it has a few bugs, it's an awesome browser.
Uu nice, whats your fav feature?
@@bogxd i wish i could say boosts or easels, but they are a bit broken and decided they dont want to work. so i think the way it handles tabs makes sense, and having a browser thats just made for productivity is awesome
@@harvey.c oh lol I didn't even realise easels were a thing. Thanks for that xd
@@bogxd its kinda like notion or craft but just a bit unpolished, also the nice thing about it is that you can edit how much volume a tab/media uses, such as Spotify or UA-cam
@@Chxrli3 I see
Brilliant and thorough tutorial. Thanks a million.
I use it as my main-it’s so nice

you save my life. Thanks
I've been using Arc for a few days and I am enjoying it. Especially the clean interface and excellent keyboard shortcuts. I think pinned URL behaviour needs to be resolved (they should behave more like tabs do otherwise it's confusing if they're bookmarks or active tabs).
I look forward to whether or not I become an active user of spaces too.
Thank you for a great review. I am really enjoying using this browser. Please post more videos as and when new updates are released.
There's been so much hype about this browser, so as a Windows user, thanks for making this video so I can see what it is actually like!
A few things I wanted to point out: the element screenshot feature can already be found on Firefox
I have already been using vertical tabs on Edge, but the difference is that they are collapsible and not fixed in place/completely hidden away like on Arc
The Notes feature looks great, as someone who literally makes new tabs and stops them from loading as notes
I love using many tabs myself, so being able to close/suspend them but keep them on my tab list might just be exactly what I've been looking for! I'd have to see how I feel about tabs automatically archiving though, I think that's something I'd just want to do manually...
Spaces within the same window are actually quite nice, would basically be like switching virtual desktops, but on the same window! Could be more distracting than it's worth though.. however I do think it would be so much better than having to juggle multiple windows!
Same thought on this. It's just the internet hype.
Spaces is super useful to me so far, I have different work logins for everything and I can simply navigate to my work pages already open, and flip back to a personal space with no need to log out of anything, even if it’s the same website
same
so... Edge profiles?@@andrewperodeau2589
Hi just wanted to say that if a tab was archived you care about you can find them in the archived tabs section. They are not gone
As a software developer, arc is the producitivty goat, i work on multiples projects and having separate workspaces for each project is soo good.
are you still enjoying it?
That's exactly how I am using it and it's great!
I've just installed this app at 10:30 of the video and will be editing this comment discussing my journey!
my experience:
- I can tell just from the scrolling and cmd + y that it's safe to say this is chromium based
- I dislike the new window every tab (could probably be fixed in settings)
- One thing that safari does over every other browser is airplay support. I do like the casting option on youtube that this browser has but it works directly on my tv and not on my xbox (could add airplay + improve casting in future update)
- to add to the last note, audio settings are a must have 🙏🏽
- I accidentally messed up my youtube topbar with ublock and had to reset the extension, oops
more to come!
bro can you use images in background?
I cannot use it cause I use windows
@@tayyabanwer6270 they said in the arc livestream that their team's entire focus is on bringing arc to windows so expect it soon :D
Airplay is proprietary
To move between tabs, i've created a custom shortcut (command up to go up and command down to go down). Hope it helps!
I just joined the waitlist for arc on windows! This browser looks sick!
Macs softwares are just in another level it's so satisfactory
For now, my love is the Vivaldi browser ❤
Edge basically does almost everything arc does. Been using edge for the past 3 years and it has really come a long way. I've switched to chrome and a few other browsers, but I keep coming back to edge. One feature that stood out to me was its ability to open tabs in split view which not so many people seem to have figured.
vivaldi imo is the best browser, its pretty much edge without the telemetry and you can even you use bing chat and everything
especially the split screen which they literally just copied from arc.
Same! It's also very pretty
@@aidenkoh2426 Not Arc, but Vivaldi
@@moony_lol VIVALDI SWEEP!!!!!!!!
There is something stunning about ARC, and it brings a level of customization to Apple users that is normally available to an Android users only. Having said that, this browser is D Tier in terms of security at this level and has many bugs they still have to fix. In addition, they just started their Windows beta, so the ARC team will have a LOT of work to do in summer.
It's goated, I just use apps like spotify and discord all in arc now, once the sidebar is hidden it's just like the desktop version
Thank you for your hard work, but have you conducted any tests on performance and battery usage?
Ayee thx for watching! Nop, I’ve not tested that
In my usage, I felt Arc is bit more slower than Chrome. However it's negligible. I had no issues with battery though.
ive been using arc for about 2 years now, love the vid but there's so much that you missed. this browser has so much to talk about
What's your favourite feature?
2 years wtf
Arc looks like a great browser, however I'm so comfy in Safari that I don't feel compelled to move. Also, seeing as Apple has been implementing new features in Safari lately, I'm sure some of Arc's best features will come to Safari anyway. However, Arc is unique enough of a browser that copying a few features won't make any browser a replacement for it, it's simply built different from other browsers
it might take you some time to get used to it but once you do, you won't want to use safari anymore trust me, it feels so much better and organized than safari
@@ins4557 I heard it’s resource heavy though, so I don’t wanna use it currently on my 8gb MacBook Air, maybe if I ever get a new laptop with more RAM
The only reason why neither safari nor arc are my go-to defaults is because of cross compatability. I use Ubuntu for my desktop alongside Windows 10 and macos on the laptop front so Brave turned out to be the sole competitor to chrome that I felt safe enough to choose (did not mention FF because government sites dont run on it, neither do my uni's websites)
@@ins4557Arc is a buggy chromium-based laggy mess
The thing that got me is the customization, Safari will never allow that much wiggle room. You can make Arc as ordinary as possible (but not with horizontal tabs) or super customizable, with your own shortcuts, colors and else. This is what sold me using it for a few days
I cant wait for arc to come to windows!!
yayy! arc is now on windows officially 🚀
this is like the best browser i heard about since Brave Browser
Bro you should try cmd+shift+d. You will get a nice toolbar (:
Ohhhh nice, didn't know this 👀
@@bogxd Glad I was helpful >.
For me, having the icons in my favourite bar is something it's hard to live without. They're right there and I access them very quickly. Going through a left side liste to access them makes my workflow far less efficiently.
Most of the things you mentioned are already available in Edge.

This is really cool, I'll have to check it out.
do spaces in arc not have separate browser histories, cookies like profiles in safari? if so how is it any different from creating a new window
also congo on for getting your first sponsor, i watch you all the time so ig this is your first unless arc sponsored you too :p
they all show up in the same history, but you can filter the history by spaces. So essentially, yes it's completely different, they just make everything seamless and appear like it's all the same
@@NKCubed thanks man! gotta try Arc out then. I hope they'll make it cross platform someday as i don't have iphone
I think that's profiles you are talking about
how did you change the arc icon? i have been using the browser since march and i didn't know you could do that on mac. is it a basic icon swap in finder or does arc let you do that natively? i do not want to do it through finder, so i will leave a question in arc Q&A too but please get back to me if you see this comment. peace.
Yeah, its through finder, why don't you want to do it this way?
I've been wanting to try out this browser for so long but they're already struggling to release a Windows version and I'm a Linux user ;-;
Recently went to Edge, but after this video Arc is 100% my new main browser.
I love vertical tabs, and have gotten most of the functionality of arc out of Edge, but I still kinda hate having a top bar and wish it could be like Arc where everything is in the sidebar.
Before the Firefox fans show up, yes, I have fully configured firefox to be able to do all the same stuff. It just had enough hiccups to distract and annoy me to the point that I was spending more time tweaking than working.
Safari is just so well optimized for Mac battery life. This does look REALLY cool though.
Can you explain the mac and arc setting required to change arc space with a gesture on the trackpad?
instead of creating an about:blank page, press command+w. It will close all tabs and leave a black screen.
dawg wtf
What is the battery life performance and video resolution compared to safari? Chromium based browsers usually lack there
Safari is better. Arc is better than Chrome, but still worse than Safari. Don’t know about Arc’s low power mode though.
Safari is far superior in the efficiency department atleast on apple silicon. My m1 mbp barely manages to eek out 6 hours of browser tasking when on Arc or Chrome, on safari... that number is 19 hours!
@@Argylleagen Btw if anyone misses chrome or firefox extensions you can try orion browser. It's identical to safari's power consumption.
@@unteejo3678 is chrome worse then Safari in terms of performance and video resolution?.
If you revisit an open tab, does the auto-archive timer restart?
good question haha
dont worry about the bugs, they push fun updates every week!
but still sometimes dont fix the bugs because theyre prioritising the "fun" updates.
@@harvey.cbut now they r doing fix it Fridays every week every update where they just smash bugs for one whole day.
thats one thing these guys do that no other browser does, transparency with the users!
I personally use Opera because it compresses all features I need into one Browser
"This browser really likes shortcuts! For example Command+W and Command+T."... First time?
It's like obsidian/notion with browser combine
I never know that Apple mouse is just an accessory. Learned something new today
Fun Fact: Arc is just Chromium, the same browser Google Chrome is based on. The team behind Arc made a huge mistake, developing it for Mac first, Windows has way more users and that can and probably will harm Arc's success in the long run
I suspect it's because a significant portion of Arc developers primarily use Apple devices.
No they made a perfect tradeoff. The codebase is majorly Swift which has very good performance and more importantly the syntax is developer friendly unlike the horrors of Microsoft's C++. If they manage to port Swift code to Windows not only will they be the first browser to do so, but they will also have a homogenous codebase for both operating systems!
@@Argylleagenwhat is “horros of MS c++”? Apps for windows can be done using cross platform .netcore and c# which is good. Swift is not faster. Also arc using open source chromium engine inside.
@@ArgylleagenIf they wrote it in swift, then say good bye to Windows unless they are willing to do all their work again
@@exoticredtadpole2713 they wrote it in swift and are making the windows version in swift as well. not to mention they are making their work in achieving this open-source
i hate this browser for being such a pain to wait and only gives out to youtubers, we'll never use arc if this happens
I will only use it if it is open source.
First ad on this chanell👍
The reason your zap didn't work is likely because there was an invisible element over the banner you were zapping. This is not Arc's problem, rather just the design of the website. If the first zap try doesn't work, try again, and again, and again until you finally reach the actual element you are trying to zap.
I have an ultrawide monitor. I use Edge, and I have vertical tabs at the left, and Bing AI open all the time at the right.
I felt Arc is too heavy for Mac Intel i5 8GB, am I right?
Waiting for windows still
Mosst regular people don't like to deal with keyboard commands. They are point and clickers. Most people have memories akin to a rock and so filling up the mind with memorized keystrokes would surely give the user a stroke.
you can you show me where you got that arc browser icon? im using it but i dont like the current icon
Theres a website called macosicons, that's where I get most of my icons
yoo thanks bro ive never seen someone who actually replies to comments thanks bruh@@bogxd
Cheers! thx for watching
@@bogxd thanks for website
go try orion you're gonna love it because of the thing you mentioned in 0:23
is that a browser?
@@rogue_lele6167 yeah it is.
It seems good for laptops but otherwise I really don't see the appeal other then core design especially compared to Opera, Firefox or even Edge. Not to mention the exclusivity is only gonna harm it, even though it's coming to Windows later this year it def feels like an Apple-first kind of browser, not to mention no word on Android or Linux.
bog sounds like he's going more insane every video
wtf 😭
ARC IS GREAT!
Its a kind of obsidian Browser?
I'm waiting for the windows version. In the meantime I'm using Vivaldi, Have you tried this browser?
Not yet, but I’ve been meaning to try it out
@@bogxdhehe, Taking your time, you gonna need it 😉
@@bogxd you're in for a treat customization-wise ;)
I use linux as my daily driver and i am a huge fan of using keyboard shortcuts for everything so i am very hopeful it will get a Linux port sometime
I doubt they'll ever make a Linux version.
@@tristen_grant I'm quite confident they won't tbh.
Why do applications these days focus more on design than actual functionality? As a Firefox user and web developer, this feels really like a baby browser. For me, a browser is a productivity tool and not some kind of luxury fashion product or whatever.
Absolutely
That's where we have to understand that everyone have different needs. This browser is not competing with Firefox. For most people who use internet generally, they will enjoy this browser more than Chrome or Firefox. I use Arc for research and blogging. For most other work, I just use Chrome. So I can understand why someone can prefer Arc.
As a Firefox and Pale Moon user, I agree!!!!!
Edit: with some of the Arc features that were shown in the video, aside from the host begging for UA-cam interactions, I can do similar things, I don't need those features, I have other apps that let me do those things, or the features look like stuff I want but don't actually need.
That's just your opinion and you are free to use FF for the rest of your life (provided it survives that long hahahaha)
@@Argylleagen nise jock. You are saiding this bicause you not used fairfox
how did you get your wallpaper to move like that
Oh that's not the wallpaper, it's an animation that I added to the background of the video
That's cool. One question tho. Why is it on mac?
It should be coming to Windows eventually
While I didn't create the video, what I can say is that I think it's because most or all of Arc's developers primarily use Apple devices themselves.
why can’t it be on Mac?
how about an Opera Gx one
I wish they can have this for windows
so do you use safari, arc orion? what do you use the most
is orian good?
As of 2024 Feb, Arc browser still has performance issues, Chrome just open things up quicker and smoother.
I will still give Arc a try never the less.
you are underrated
How did you install those safari themes?
Can anyone help me to find that wallpaper? Those purples look quite aesthetic.
Vivaldi Browser with another name and without Linux support
Another product that solves absolutely no problem for anybody
sometimes i think about how it could be me that inspired him to make this video after commenting "arc is better" on his safari video
You know, it probably was you
Lmao, now Edge is an Arc competitor, with almost all of the same features. On vertical tabs mode, it is the same to me 🤣
Waiting for arc on windows
There are a couple things to point out from my experience on Arc for macOS:
1. Tab management in Arc it awful. If you have a tab pinned and you want to open a new tab for the same page, it takes more steps than it should for an action so simple.
2. Arc is completely optimized for using it on just one screen, if you use an external monitor things get really ugly. It's like it doesn't know how to manage different windows, tabs, and desktops at the same time. It pisses me off every time
It's a really nice browser but this 2 things have made my experience bad enough to keep me using Brave
ok, so what exactly can arc do that chrome cant?
Been waiting for this video, been repping Arc since 21 Jun 2022
Uu a veteran
Any news on the Google Docs situation?
bro arc is awesome but when I install it the animation in the first makes my Mac lag so much that it turns off any sloution ?
oh no
To much Toys & Candys! I just want to browsing!
is Firefox not available on MacOS? I've watched a few videos on Arc at this point and Firefox is never mentioned for some reason... Whatever ig
I'd love to use Arc on my Ubuntu system
IMO If Arc devs were able to add iCloud keychain that would make this browser beat Safari once and for all
I'm sad the beta is only for windows 11 since I'm using 10 and would rather become a buddhist monk than update, I can't wait for it to release on win10 though
What browser do you use?
excited to use it. I will install it in 2,3 days. really excited cause of the interface features haha, and the main thing is the looks. Hope It will work fine.
0:24 all of the browsers (except for safari) that you use have chromium 😭 they can use the same extensions (and arc)
