Mozenrath Is A Slick Sorcerer

- This is a video consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring one sly villain from my memories, the malevolent sorcerer Mozenrath (voiced by the late Jonathan Brandis), from the show Aladdin: The Animated Series. Sorry about the misspelling in the title, I forgot to change that later on and couldn't make a new video copy. Hope you enjoy him as a much as I did.

Mozenrath is my favorite villain to exist ever
“People could have gotten hurt”
“ and your point would be?”
ICONIC
Yeah I agree ✋ 😊 👍
It's sad Jonathan brandis passed away. He would have made a killing in the voice acting department
Came here to say the same.
@@ThatGothicChick I agree 👍 💯
First I just heard this show was short lived, now this villain's VA passed away? And I just heard the same thing happened to Gilbert Gottfried! My heart just keeps breaking!
@The Super Shiny- sadly Johnathan committed suicide
@@thesupershinymegagengar2034 although whenever Johnathan Brandis wasn’t available they had Jeff Bennett fill in for him.
It's shame the series didn't last longer, cause I heard there were plans on revealing that Mozenrath and Aladdin were brothers
Marlon Da Silva really? god damn I was wondering why it was cancelled it was really good especially in my childhood and he aladin do look alot similiar
Yeah apparently rumor has it that they recycled the Mozenrath brother reveal idea with the King of Thieves in the 3rd movie being Aladdin's father. They went for that idea because the film makers couldn't get in contact with the staff of the TV show.
They should have just merged everything.Would have loved to see them run into their father. One big family reunion.
They could have also gotten Jeff Bennett to fill in for brandis, like he did during the show. I guess they just didn't think about it at the time.
really? damn that would've been cool
Jonathan Brandis really brings a glee to the villain. Mozenrath LOVES being evil, and he's not afraid to show it.
Ikr 😉
4:49 That dropkick by Jasmine was SICK.
And her line “ I always get my man !” 😂 iconic
@@juanitacanon3120 yeah I agree ✋ 😊 👍
A pretty dark villain that really should've gotten a movie.
He was the most worthy villain to follow-up Jafar. Would've loved to see him and Aladdin settle their feud when they were older. Mono-e-mono, winner take all.
I had similar thoughts with Mirage.
Daniel Ramsey He should have is own stand-alone,spin-off movie.
Daniel Ramsey yeah that way Jonathan brandis would’ve lasted longer :(
The third movie was supposed to be about him, ad how he and Aladdin were brothers.
RIP Jonathan Brandis. :( it's rather sad how he died.
That's a terrible shame because his voice is great.
Murder or something?
God bless him
He killed himself in 2003.
He did dam spectacular performance
He may not be Jafar's son, but let's be honest: If he was his son, would anyone be surprised?
Yes 😊
Not really. Who knows what Jafar got up to while being Royal Viser, or even before.
Then Jay would be a little brother
Nope.
Ummm not really
They don't make villains like this nowadays. not that the current way of writing villains is bad perse. I'm asking that ever once in a while we should get these kinds of villains sometimes.
Oh no, the current writing of Disney villains is fucking dreadful. A bunch of one-dimensional walking plot devices/Scooby Doo villains shoved as last minute plot-twists.
Yes, in an attempt to try and do away with old cliches, they have inadvertently created new ones in their place
Am sorry but how are how Bill Cipher, Dominator, toffee, general Tesler and Abraham Kane terrible Disney villains?
@@tayojones9460 I do agree with that. Fantastic villains that haven't popped up elsewhere.
Bill was a fucking demon who can turn you inside out and laugh about it. Dominator was a sadistic bully who loved causing mayhem, Kane was a,ruthless industrialist, but was nuanced because of his love for his daughter, Toffee was a calm and manipulative sociopath who almost destroyed magic and Tesler was a cold and ruthless tyrant who would kill his own men in cold blood. How are any of them fucking boring to you?! They are the last set if grrat Disney cartoon villains and it pissed me off that some of them not get the recognition they deserve
Most underrated Disney villain.
"Agrabah, not a particularly magical place, so, why conquer it? Oh, because it is there!" he is awesome.
He still has some of the best Disney villain lines, in my opinion. Rewatched his episodes and still laughing.
Okay he's evil and his pet is despicable, but it's still kinda sweet at 10:57 that Xerxes seems genuingly worried that Mozenrath is dying.
@@JD-el9eo " Not much time?!"
Probably the charm and charisma
@@TazHall yeah I agree ✋ 😊 👍
This guy needs a more sophisticated minion.
Kyrieru I always thought the same thing lol. No way Mozenrath would tolerate a minion like Xerxes smh
I don't know why the most competent villains have such incompetent henchmen.
Hes more than a henchman, hes also a pet and familiar
I don't know but the eel really reflects his true self
Samantha Clark Familiar? 🤔
Fun tidbit for those who didn’t know! Mozenrath was originally going to be revealed as Aladdin’s long lost older brother!!! There was even going to be a movie! But then the idea was recycled into Aladdin meeting his dad instead, argo ‘Aladdin and the King of Thieves’
That may actually based on the original Aladdina nd the Magic lamp story. Apparently, the sorcerer in the story tries to pass off as the brother of Aladdin's late father. Curious info, really. Huh.
Unfortunately Mozenrath's Voice Actor had committed suicide in 2003, and they retired the character out of respect.
I'm really glad that didn't happen. Such a cheesy trope.
I would have much preferred that it was discovered that Mozenrath was Jafar's bastard son.
@@RequiemPoete Yeah, but the third movie came out before Jonathan Brandis bid adieu to this world (like, six years before).
@@madamefluffy4788 Was about to argue, but just looked up the dates and you were right. Odd. I could have sworn the article I read cited his suicide as the reason behind the change. Oh well.
He's so delightfully vile... I find myself laughing frequently when watching.
Why is it always the sadists that are the most fun to watch?!
Rip to the guy who voiced him.
Jonathan 😊
Mozenrath = Emo Aladdin
He was actually designed to be the literal opposite of everything Aladdin is.
(And the third movie was supposed to reveal that Mozinrath was his long lost brother, but they canceled that and kept the 40 thieves dad plot.)
Pretty much!
I wish someone would greenlit a new Aladdin cartoon. One that reveals that Mozenwrath is the brother of Aladdin.
Tayo Jones I’d love to see a continuation of the show. Tbh I’m only for it if they use this art style. Obviously it won’t be cel animation but still as long as it’s hand-drawn.
And kylo Ren
The origins of Kylo Ren.
but with out the wining
Oh my sweet god, I thought the exact same thing!!!!
I immediately thought of the same thing!
Holy shit...yes. Right down to the legions of fangirls who don't care that they're murderous psychopaths because gosh-darn-it they're just sooooo cute!!!!
. . . no, he whines about as much. And he rages at least once about how Aladdin didn't deserve his "good fortune" finding the Genie's Lamp.
He seriously is as whiny.
Oh no he's hot.
Lol I was just thinking of the same thing even though I've thought that for a long time ever since discovering his character. Squidward: "Oh no, he's hot!!" 😂
When I was younger and I watched this I always thought Mozenrath was Jafars son out for revenge or something.
If I found out I was to hold Jafar's child, I'd abort the fucker........
Kyle Edgecomb Why would you hold Jafars child?
Helena Katalinic think they meant have.

As I was a kid I still ♡♡ 😍😍😍😍 in love with him .
His perfect
and they say adam driver would never be a cartoon
I find it cool that the actors who voiced Aladdin and mozenrath were both in full house
I think even tho his voice actor is gone, including him in future Aladdin projects shouldn't be a problem if they get Matt Lanter (the guy who played Anakin in the Clone Wars TV series) to play him. In fact, his voice here sounds similar in range to Anakin's from that series.

9:43 Mozenrath: Your genie? How cute. (singing) Genie's got a girlfriend...
Xerxes: (singing) Girlfriend, girlfriend!
10:53-11:02 pretty ironic, as this character was voiced by Jonathan Brandis, and this episode was also the final appearance of Mozenrath in the series, and possibly of Brandis in television career.

I love how twisted and conniving Mozenrath is/was and his looks also make for a great villain too. ;3

Do you think Jonathan Brandis was great playing Mozenrath?
Nathaniel Preston I hear the guys in charge of the cartoon even based of Jonathan's appearance and expressions to make Mozenrath
Jonathan Brandis was so talented. Oh they matched his expression with voice...that's why his voice suited the character so much. I wish I could remember Jonathan's heydey but I was born in 1990..so I didn't know he voiced Mozenrath back in 1998 and learned about him after his death.

You have a point, how did mozenrath get Xerses in the first place? HE'S A SEA CREATURE AND MOZENRATH LIVES IN A DESERT?! 🤔 Does make you think...
2:02-2:39 Even JAFAR steered clear of him!? Okay, some bad stuff has just hit the fan🙀"This kid is TWISTED!!" You said it, Iago😰
Well actually it's Jafar steered clear of the sorcerer Destane, who Mozenrath used to serve or was an apprentice to I think, but then stole his power. But maybe they had close to the same level of scaryness or something.. lol
Now THIS could warrant a sequel to the Live-action Aladdin movie x3 explore the story of what could have been between Mozenrath and Aladdin
They were supposed to be brothers!? Geez, Cassim, your genes really made some wild cards. Who did you get with to make THIS madman?
He's like Jafar, only younger. He must be related to him.
Garth Davis a kylo ren version of jafar's grandson. Lol
Garth Davis He’s not
Iago at one point called him "Jafar Jr."
But Jafar was way better than him
Actually, in a plot twist that was planned for the series prior to cancellation, he was to be revealed as Aladin's brother.
If Disney ever adapts Return of Jafar and King of the 40 Thieves to live action, they should have Mozenrath appear as the antagonist with the reveal he is Aladdin’s brother, thus a tragic revelation when Aladdin learns Mozenrath is slowly dying from using the Infinity Gauntlet he stole from Thanos

yeah, his voice sounds so good in that episode 💖 soo sexy ❤️🔥😍
He and Jasmine have such a beef with each other. Imagining them as teens, the other brother bugging his kid brother and his girlfriend at home.
Well, he has more of a beef with Aladdin..and is jealous of him being given a genie. Actually even though Mozenrath was a d-bag to her in that episode, he's flirted with Jasmine before. Like in the episode when he switched bodies with Aladdin, he grabbed Jasmine and said "They can go, but you can stay.." ;) and said another naughty, though creep thing to her in another episode.
I didn't know Adam Driver started out as a cartoon villain.

The Jafar of the TV series!!

Can we talk about the hot sauce wolf ghost?
Hot sauce wolf ghost XD
If they had made dolls of that, I would have turned to crime at a young age for a collection.
Mozenrath is one of the best villains in animation history. He was a perfect parallel to Aladdin with his cruel nature and lack of scruples. Plus he got some street cred when he was introduced thanks to Iago. Since he overthrew a sorcerer who even Jafar didn't dare challenge.
I remember when Aladden fought Mozenrath inside his body he started using his own spirit as magic to fight back. I always figured it was just since Aladdin was wearing the gauntlet he was able to access it's power and being the opposite of Mozenrath he channeled an opposing power within the gauntlet Mozenrath couldn't even access because of his nature.
Why won't they release a complete DVD set or put it on Netflix or hulo?
Or at least add the series to Disney Plus.
Because Disney's being lazy asses apparently... 😑and being stupid, ignoring so much of their best quality animated series from back then, even though they have some of the best characters too like him. I've been waiting for them to release all their old 90s cartoon series on dvd all cleared up, and even on blu-ray too which would be awesome. Along with early 2000s shows also like House of Mouse. But they still haven't done that...don't know what's wrong with Disney. And they should be on Disney Plus too and they're not on there either. Also pretty sure they would be added to Disney Plus first or only on there cause they made the show...lol But they're acting like they mostly only care about their movies, but forget or ignore still many of their old good animated series. It's annoying..
One of if not the very best Disney villain
Mozenrath is a great villan
Yeah I can tell 🙂 😏 😌
I feel like pointing out that the second episode has much better animation than the rest of them. It was by Disney's Philippino studio.
I haven't seen this in years back in the early 90s . This character the bad guy, was around way before Kylo Ren. But the resemblance is striking and the outfit way better. Well it was made by Disney.
Mozenrath is one of the inspirations I have in mind when I role-play Manshoon in D&D
he does seem like a perfect example of a proper CE character
mozenrath is so effeminate but his voice is so manly: I love this contrast
I miss that voice ... I miss Jonathan so much
Don’t worry. Jonathan Brandis has been in a better place.
With Mozenrath's black sand and Sadira's sand witch powers (and a little practice), they could conquer a few kingdoms together. Sadly, he would probably IMMEDIATELY betray her when he had a chance.
Mozenrath is the best villain in Aladdin the tv series! Jonathan Brandis was great as his voice although he died later which was tragic. Anyway Mozenrath together with Mechanicles and Abis Mal and Haroud are my favorite villains in the series.
@@JD-el9eo Mirage is one of my favorite villains too in this series.

Mozenrath or Kylo Ren, you decide...
Ali Alizadeh both are douchebags.
xsailor85 at least Mozenrath is entertaining.
Ali Alizadeh Both
Tao Jones T.jones Why didn't you like Kylo Ren?
Axel I have seen clips of his tantrums on UA-cam and that really turned me off. Yes, villains can have breakdowns, but Ren is over the top when he gets mad. Mozenrath got mad but at least he was dignified about it. Ren is being pushed as the new Darth Vader, but more "complex". I just see a delusional teenager trying to be cool like his grandfather. Mozen knows what he is and accepts it.
If anyone like Ren, good for them, but personally, I don't really care for him.
The problem with this series is that the animation is too cartoonie for what they wanted to go for.
It's not too cartoony. As this was a time when all the networks were trying to make gritty cartoons. Like Batman: The Animated Series. Because both Superman: The Animated Series, and it were very popular. Gargoyles was up there. But, it got a bit too much at times.
But the animation used a lot squash and stretch (for example , the characters facial movement )making the faces , at least to me , ruins the serious tone that this show has. This doesn't ruin my liking towards this show. I'm just saying that this show had a little problem with it's animation that doesn't fit with it's tone at time buthey , that's what happens to most shows that are the predecessor of animated movie.
At lot of their cartoons used this style of animation and similar at this time. Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Tail Spain, Gargoyles, The Mighty Ducks and so on. As they 90s began to close, they went to a different style. Like with Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, The Weekenders, Tarzan, Loyd, etc. I never really cared too much for animation styles myself. As you had some cartoons that mixed 3D in for visual effects. Like Sherlock Holmes and the 22 Century and that anime show about robotic dinosaurs on FoxKids.
In the mid 90s, there were a couple of instances where networks had to start watching what they aired for children in terms of animation styles. Especially animations made in Japan. This was due to children having epileptic seizures. And it was thought that the Japanese were doing this on purpose. So a lot of cartoons began to have darker colors, warmer tones, and etc.
Really? That's interesting. Where did you learned this information if you don't mind telling me?
