Your system doesn't work for me. I extracted the Modguard folder from the archive onto my desktop, entered my credentials, but when I look at the file paths, it's not in the right place. I tried to explain this on your Discord support, but you told me it's not possible. You offered help with an application, but I don't like this intrusive privacy system at all. I have bought a lot of mods from you, and now with this system not working for me, I can't use any of your mods, like 389, Rogers, etc. It's not my fault that your program doesn't work for me. I'm not so stupid that I don't know how to install an application. I've been trying for too long, and my patience with this kind of process has its limits. When you develop an application that works for everyone, let me know. Thanks.
++ When I install your program, it doesn't ask me for "log" files. It creates paths that don't exist. I don't have OneDrive, so it's not possible to modify them, and the installation path for Steam that it gives me is incorrect as well. I don't have an option to modify it, so for me, your program, as seen in the video, doesn't work on my system.
She wasn't perfect at first and we did have some obstacles which most are taken care of now. Intrusive privacy system? Do you think I have a data center or something to store peoples files? No, that's not how it works in anyway shape or form. If that's the case, I can make the same argument that "trucky" or "truckbooks" is to intrusive (see link at the bottom). Trucky/Truckbooks uses api to log your miles and is also a dll (see link at bottom for proof). Does Modguard turn on when you turn your pc on?? Nope. Does modguard access the same folder trucky and truckbooks do, yes. How does modguard work? Simple, you open the game modguard initiates by verifying the mod in your mod folder and than does a quick api connection to our secure server to verify the keys that are in the moddir.txt found in your plugin folder. 0 information besides validating the key is sent to us. screenshot of plugin folder: postimg.cc/67Fw9rqb
What is this garbage? Why aren't your mods just simple zip files? All this crap to keep people from stealing your mods, it just makes it a pain for your paying customers to use what they paid $80 for. Explain exactly what all this is. I'm not downloading your shady stuff without knowing what it is. Now that you've made this change, you really should offer refunds. I didn't sign up for this when I bought your mods.
i didnt sign up for this dumb ass extra shit either man, refunds really should be #1 option on the table at this fucking point! i swear next modder does this goofy ass shit is getting a big law suite!!!
A simple zip file offers 0 protection of the mod. While I understand there's an additional step now and understand your frustration entirely but it's more than just "all this crap to keep people from stealing your mods". There's 2 sides to this, your point of view as well as others point of view. There's your point of view, where "who cares if it ends up on a website" and then there's also the many that feel "hey I just paid $80, $30, $25 and now it's on some website for free, that's not right" and when products do get leaked, yes our inbox fills with people reporting it to us and also expressing their frustration. This is the main reason modders disappear and stop updating their products. When you are passionate for what you do and take pride in it, it doesn't even come down financial gain or loss (as leaks are known to encourage more sales) it comes down to seeing the countless hours we put into our mods too just having them on 3rd party websites. We aren't here for just today and tomorrow, is the main point I am trying to get at. We are here for the long run. Now as you can see others have also been working on their own solutions. We solved 2 problems with modguard, everyone hated keys as it made convoying a pain so now they keys are stored within. Modguard doesn't have any big brother watching over you. Modguard only interacts with your mod files in your mod folder as well as in your ats plugin folder where the keys are stored and only programed and code signed just to do that. Now with that being said, what happens when you launch the game, Modguard than initiates (no it's not running when you turn your pc on) it verifies the mod in your mod folder then connects to our secure server via API and verifies the keys are legit. Now, this is the same way something like truckbooks or trucky functions as it reports back using api to log your miles. I can also understand the fact that you think "we are doing shady stuff" as this is the first of its kind (well now there is modify) but I can ensure you the plugin does exactly what I just stated. If our plugin was deemed "malicious" in any sort of way we would of never received a Code Signing Certificate for it. What does a Code Signing Certificate do? It ensures it was meant to do what it's supposed to do any only what it's supposed to do. Making any changes to its functionality automatically breaks the certificate. This could be tested by opening up the file in a hex editor and even changing a single byte, just any line or add or delete any letter then run it through total virus it will fail and mark it malicious. A code signing certificate isn't easy to get nor is it a cheap thing to do. However, I took the steps needed to do so. This way I know for sure it's nothing but secure for the end user. I've been transparent since day 1, it wouldn't be in my best interest longevity wise to give you something malicious.
So I did this thru and thru, two times, and still can't get the trailer to show up I bought the (Rogers SP50) Everything is downloaded, and I install the ModGuard, but when I go into game, the trailer is not there. I downloaded the "freight market" version. Do I have to install both versions? Also when downloading when I am at the ModGuard stage, I don't have to search for the game.text it automatically finds it each time? Not sure if this is a fault or not?
It was designed to atuomatically find the game log, although for some people it doesn't, like in the video for example. If you are in our discord just create a support ticket, much easier to troubleshoot that way.

This is the very reason why I do not buy your mod. It is shared on download sites anyway. And no I am not using it from these. I would be more than willing to buy your product, but not with such hassleware for lack of a better term in place. All the hoops that I have to jump through as a customer with 0 benefit for me that do exactly nothing in the long run.
Hey man, I understand your stand point 100%. However, you said it yourself. "It's shared on download sites anyway", well if you go and look the 3 products that we don't have on modguard just got leaked just a few days ago. I am not making you jump through 0 hoops as you are not forced to buy my products. I do want to emphasize on your wording of "long run". If we weren't in this for the long run, ask yourself this.. Why would I care? Why would I go through the trouble of developing something like this if I wasn't going to be here to provide you updates for the long run? Just a food for thought there..
much more simplified? 4th time trying to install this and it has still yet to work. not to mention its just one more thing to download..

seems like unnecessary steps id rather install into my mod folder thank you very much
facts!!!
Don't see game.log.txt in my files, any suggestions on where to either create a new one or find one?
Very nice and straight forward video. Wish everyone did it this way. Thank you.
I love this!!! What an incredible way to keep a handle on awesome product! I would love to incorporate this system as well.
shoot us a private message or discord or facebook than!

i did all of this and it works it's just when I go to pick up a load it crashes my game and i got a good pc so it should not be crashing
Didn't read the install guide then did you
So then do I put the mods into the MOD folder and then just go into the game?
Like once they are done being downloaded?
Yes
So now i have to install some unnecessary third party BS software to get mods i paid for to work? This is ridiculous.
Correct. Pinga, KSW, FLX and many others will do it this way as well, but with their own version.
Is mod guard safe it's not same modfy ???
It’s really not that hard 🤷🏽♂️quit crying
@@wildgameryoyoyo6824 entirely different than modfy
What if we can’t drag the folder?
Extract it to your desktop
I get a cx_Freeze :python error in main script
Needs to be extracted
this some bullshit for $86usd 100% smh
I have had nothing but issues since I bought and installed these mods. 80 dollars and I haven't gotten any enjoyment out of it.
