Statement. Make music. Sing and let your culture live. Some voices are are meant for one space others for different venues. The point is to make the music live beautifully. Dance with your ancestors as the Greeks say.
I simply want to thank every musician, every conductor, every singer, all of the people who support these talents, the stage and sound folks, and everyone else who makes it possible to hear such treasures. Written in 1778 by a 22 year old Mozart for Aloysia Weber in Paris. Mozart made fun of the French musical taste but was thoroughly impressed with Aloysia's "perfect" singing of his aria ("an indescribable honor to me... everyone was moved by it.") In the same session she also sang an aria from "Il Re Pastore", but this aria was clearly everyone's favorite including the musicians. Mozart wrote so glowingly of the Webers in a letter to his father probably because he knew daddy didn't approve of them and wanted to prove him wrong.... well that didn't really work.

What a beautiful recording by this marvellous French soprano. Can anyone tell me what is the keyboard instrument being played? It has a unique sound which I have not heard before not like a piano or harpsichord but more like an organ and capable of sustained notes. Any information will be much appreciated.
It's a copy of an 18th-century fortepiano by Christopher Clarke.

A pen does not necessarily mean cuts. It is used for expression marks, tempi, pauses ,etc.
if the pen disapears, it mean a cut.... when the pen reappear, it is another cut. But Sabine is playing with the pen for tempi, I agree
At first I thought she was checking her text messages from Mozart.
Once I realized she magically “lost” the pen, then it was back and so on, it became a little distracting. But nothing can distract from her voice. Pure talent and a gift.
No problem with or without cut, she’s perfect !
