This SO warms my heart. Laura and her band Against Me! used to play my friend's basement on Long Island in the 90s and they were so immensely loved and still are. It is really heartening to see how far Laura has gone and how authentically she is living.

I got the opportunity to see Against Me! In 2004 at a small venue just before searching for a former clarify released. It's one of my favorite shows I've been to, and searching for a former clarity is my favorite album of all time. Against Me! no longer exists in that capacity and that saddens me, but it's also okay.
+Rocio Laimuns she's never not been "the true miley" she enjoys everything she does and lives her life exactly how she wants, she's a good person and she has fun. Wrecking ball miley is the exact same miley who sang the climb, just older and more true to herself.
Think these two artists have very much in common with each other. Both made changes in their life that they needed and in a way, you can see it when they preform here and how they look eachother, because they Kinda understand what the other one is going through. This song is so uptempo, but there's so much pain in this song. Laura Jane Grace sings about suicide, and it's so true. Transexual people have the highest rate of suicide of any group in our society. Why does it have to be this way?. God loves transexual people just as much as anyone else and he wants to give them his peace. . I believe that God sees transexuals as the gender they identify with, because when God looks at us he doesn't look at our body, he looks at our Spirit. I think part of the conflict is that society rejects transexuals and we need to embrace them. I know there is a lot of inner conflict going on as well. I think songs like this help by pointing out the reality that is happening in the transgender community. I want to listen to more of Laura Jane Grace's songs that deal with Transgender issues. I know she and her band did a whole c.d. about transgender issues. I want to see if there is more hope in the songs. Hope is what we all need. Thanks Laura Jane Grace for what you are doing not just for the Transgender community but for all of us to make us aware of what it is like to be transgender, We can't actually know, but we can live it vicariously through your songs. I wish more believers felt this way about God’s opinion of trans people. I’m a Christian and I hate seeing other Christians hate on trans people, because they completely miss the point of Christ’s ministry. I see the 41% trans suicide statistic often cited as a reason why transitioning is bad for someone suffering from gender dysphoria, but the same study that gave us that 41% statistic goes on to say that that percentage drops drastically when trans people are in an environment that at least isn’t hostile toward their very existence. I wish people would realize that. God bless.
Thank you for this, five years later. If you listen to the original version of this song it doesn't sound quite as upbeat, but I think this has that happier sound because it's acoustic and has Miley in it. But the singing in it has such a deep pain to it. I'm trans, the "who's gonna take you home tonight?" line just resonates so deeply and painfully in my heart. It's anger, it's hope and hopelessness, it's longing. I listen to this song over and over and it just never loses it's punch. The song just comes from so deep in the soul.

If Miley decides to only do backyard sessions- great for her! If she decides to make more songs like we can't stop- great for her! At the end of the day it really doesn't matter what we say. Even though she is famous, she still deals with the same problems every other young adult faces. The kind of music she decides to perform is completely up to her. If you don't like it, just don't listen. Focus your energy on a new hobby; instead of criticizing celebrities on every little thing they do.
I got the opportunity to see Against Me! In 2004 at a small venue just before searching for a former clarify released. It's one of my favorite shows I've been to, and searching for a former clarity is my favorite album of all time. Against Me! no longer exists in that capacity and that saddens me, but it's also okay.
This gives me chills. It's absolutely mesmerizing.

Miley, in addition to being so sweet and special, has a sense of true freedom about the integrity of each person's identity.
Think these two artists have very much in common with each other. Both made changes in their life that they needed and in a way, you can see it when they preform here and how they look eachother, because they Kinda understand what the other one is going through. It is very encouraging to see people standing up for the right thing, because being true to yourself is the only true liberty you have in your life.

This song is so uptempo, but there's so much pain in this song. Laura Jane Grace sings about suicide, and it's so true. Transexual people have the highest rate of suicide of any group in our society. Why does it have to be this way?. God loves transexual people just as much as anyone else and he wants to give them his peace. . I believe that God sees transexuals as the gender they identify with, because when God looks at us he doesn't look at our body, he looks at our Spirit. I think part of the conflict is that society rejects transexuals and we need to embrace them. I know there is a lot of inner conflict going on as well. I think songs like this help by pointing out the reality that is happening in the transgender community. I want to listen to more of Laura Jane Grace's songs that deal with Transgender issues. I know she and her band did a whole c.d. about transgender issues. I want to see if there is more hope in the songs. Hope is what we all need. Thanks Laura Jane Grace for what you are doing not just for the Transgender community but for all of us to make us aware of what it is like to be transgender, We can't actually know, but we can live it vicariously through your songs. Thank You

I wish more believers felt this way about God’s opinion of trans people. I’m a Christian and I hate seeing other Christians hate on trans people, because they completely miss the point of Christ’s ministry. I see the 41% trans suicide statistic often cited as a reason why transitioning is bad for someone suffering from gender dysphoria, but the same study that gave us that 41% statistic goes on to say that that percentage drops drastically when trans people are in an environment that at least isn’t hostile toward their very existence. I wish people would realize that.

Thank you for this, five years later. If you listen to the original version of this song it doesn't sound quite as upbeat, but I think this has that happier sound because it's acoustic and has Miley in it.
But the singing in it has such a deep pain to it. I'm trans, the "who's gonna take you home tonight?" line just resonates so deeply and painfully in my heart. It's anger, it's hope and hopelessness, it's longing. I listen to this song over and over and it just never loses it's punch. The song just comes from so deep in the soul.
