As mentioned here, that doesn kinda exist already - Kid A Mnesia Exhibition It's more like a walking simulator where you go through a world surrounded with nothing but Kid A and Amnesiac memorabilia and it's awesome! @@napkins2782 Is the rest of the game cool? I stopped at the Paper room that plays In Limbo because my pc can't handle the game that well. Also what happens if you jump at the pit that has all those sperm bears rising out of?
As I mentioned here, you can check out my gameplay of Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, and you can decide for yourself. I thought it was great! As for the pit with the bears, you don’t fall. There is an invisible floor you can walk on inside the pit room.
I wish bands cared about their visuals like Radiohead. Imagine watching TV late at night in the 2000's and one of these popped up for a couple of seconds and then disappeared. I wish we could have something like that instead of typical brand advertisements
it's interesting considering the majority of these blips would be building blocks for the overall atmosphere of the kid a mnesia exhibition game stanley donwood is an absolute master of his craft
I very clearly remember downloading a ton of these on dial-up in my high school library and my best friend at the time seeing the bear-eating-goose one and going “oh, this is like a Fight Club thing, huh?” It’s a quarter century later and I’m still trying to unpack that one.
I got into the band recently and was wondering what's the significance of the modified bear to the band. I felt it didn't fit their image at all. It felt like something a pop punk or emo band would make. But after looking at how Kid A was made and marketed and also looking at these blips, it all made sense.
This really makes me think this album goes very close to being better than OK Computer. The world it creates at the turn of the millennium… the melodys are good but it’s all the other sounds added that push this over the edge.
2:02 For some reason, the way the modified bear blip looks along with "Motion Picture Soundtrack" playing in the background makes it feel so sad. Doesn't help that the blip itself is very short.
I'm just ever so slightly too young to have actually seen these as intended but I can tell that if I were and I already somehow didn't know what radiohead was it'd honestly make me fully invested. I can just imagine myself in front of the tv wondering what on earth these are and what is radiohead until I start investigating the next day, getting lead down the path to listening to kid a and then presumably the rest of their back catalogue
I love these so much, Radiohead has such great visuals from album covers to music videos is to their booklets to these blips, it’s something I wish more bands cared as much about. This era especially has such a strong visual style and I really like it. Kid A Mnesia Exhibition is also just great when it comes to this.
I think they had something close to it. My mom owns a pretty rare shirt that has the bear but its eyes are in rings of blue instead of its normal pupils. She got me one, but it says Waste instead of having pupils at all. I love that shirt.
@@popisdeadisagoodsong9997sorry to be very late to the party, but I have the one with the blue eyes!! It’s from the Radiohead public library clothing department :)
I wouldn't be chocked if this inspired anyone to make some analog creepyness. I would think that the one live action blip at 6:28 could also be an inspiration, kinda reminds me of Blair Witch
Most of these blips are publically available on Radioheads Public Library, www.radiohead.com/library On the Kid A section, you will find these same blips with more elongated breaks. Seemingly like a master file/tape of all blips. Curious that hey don't have any of the Amnesiac blips there, but oh well XD
radiohead predicted short attention span, truly the best band of the world
Kind of like agamemnon counterpart, which came out like 2001 I think
And analog horror

They do! :D
Especially the one with the goose 💀
The bear invaders thing as well

Best marketing campaign for an album ever, hands down.
We need a Kid A video game. Imagine playing as one of the Bear’s traversing the landscape of the whole album

The old tv aesthetic really added to this ones but man i always wanted to see them clearly

2:59 I'm sorry this is the funniest thing I've ever seen the god damn duck with the sax blasting is so funny to me
the thought of them building a bear made of bread (?) and filming that, like where did they have time in the middle of making two albums at once haha

These are all so incredibly 2000s I love it

Idk but theres also the minoautar .the 1 from the amnessiac cover
I think I used to think Radiohead was an emo band too just from their aesthetic
The emo pop punk crap didn’t come out for a few years after this. We hated it. Still do.
