As an INFP, I like the name Harmonizer Clarifier… I recently had an experience where I unintentionally helped someone feel validated by the words I shared, and that made me feel validated! After that happened, I decided I want to be a very good mirror for other people, helping them to see themselves more clearly, with the hopes that they become more aligned with who they already are… So yeah, Harmonizer (with the patterns within)… and helping to clarify those patterns (Or helping to clarify the emotions and connected needs of a situation, usually between people.. with the goal of increased harmony.)
Overall, this was great hearing the names and some short descriptions tied to the names to help give a good feel for each type.
this podcast is amazing! As a person who identifies as an INFP, but still not sure and always checking if I coincide with other types! Dario's two word description of an INFP as Harmonizer/Clarifier describes me and how I view and try to help others so well. Thank you for generously sharing these summarizations with your audience. Amazed at Dr. Dario Nardi's brilliance and actually his humble down to earth vibe alongside it. Truly fascinating.
I'm INTP - Creative Thinker & Problem Solver. The description Designer & Theorizer are also accurate. We are Truth seekers & so able to learn quickly to master something new & then create innovative solutions & designs that work as magic. We use theory & mathematics as weapons of truth & proof of solutions. We think in terms of logic & inconsistencies, looking way ahead & far beyond. We live in our own minds, detached & all alone & content that our imaginations are as good as real...
Cool do you give anything to charity.
After watching the whole thing, I think I have Te-ness envy. 😂 I am amazed how well Dario can articulate ideas out loud related to all 16 types! I usually never even know where to begin, and it comes in bits and pieces randomly, if at all… and typically only via writing, not talking out loud. Though having a framework of two words for each type seems to be a good prompt, knowing the meanings included with each word.
I deeply resonate with the director of visions & concepts as ENFP. In my younger years it was more of natural approaches of bursting out chaos of different solutions and concepts. Why? Because amazing. That is why. It is difficult to contain yourself when your whole being vibrates with awesomeness. As time goes on the approach evolves into bridging nature with research & science. With all chaos of nonlinear pathways deep within, with the right ritual and mastering, that selective lens grows strong. Now, with the multiplying of seeds of ideas, the influence and domino effects of those ideas as well as their impact, ENFPs have deep potential and power to crystalizing those seeds with memories, inspiration & motivation, potential & reflections ultimately making that seed grow in its own ways, within its own nature and manifest in reality with clarity.
The words are definitely well chosen ! Thank for sharing.
I like how balanced they sound.
Two geniuses unite and spread intelligence.
Joyce!!!!!! Dario!!!!!! 😂. I just recommended all of your stuff to another coworker, most likely an INFJ and people kept walking past our conversation in a coffee shop and like pausing and then walking away since we were super postulating NF on crack. 😊😊😊😊. When my final ENFP metamorphosis happens…. I want to play I want to play 😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉. Making an NJ like book list today for this year to be worthy hahahahhahahaha. I’m kidding I’m not, maybe see you in Northern Arizona next month, but Mom life maybe not but maybe I can watch from here🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. I love your videos, they make me think fission fusion combined into a spiral neural interstellar bomb. 😮Thank you!!!!! 😊also, is Dario in an ESFP level of his INTJ soul cycle, or was this an Se swing state oh fun? Go Dario, the most free wheeling INTJ out there even ENFP energy coming out hmmmmm. Nebular energy. 😊
Love to you guys and Thank You 🙏💓🌹
I exhibit clarifying behaviors too often to not recognize lol. I actually take issue with how little many people will bother to ask clarifying questions before passing judgement or offering feedback. Anyone close to me has to be able to decipher somewhat competently because pre-trust, obscure a lot about myself. -infp
Please come to Florida! I would love to attend such workshop.
With ISTJ preferences, I personally completely agree with the two word description that you used for this type in particular….
Apologies 😅😅😅😅😅Joyce, I do hope you can recall of me for we have had a virtual session about a week ago…. 😅😅😅😅😅 but long story short I had a comment to share but being a typical ISTJ and having my memory fallacies, I forgot it 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤣🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤔
Turbulent vs assertive is what dario was meaning at 25min
Oh and for enfp vs infp advocacy, a good enfp friend of mine has been working with me to try to change the toxic environment in an entp group we are in that has become rife with provocative racist, sexist and bullying behaviors. We have very different angles for tackling it that are both useful to the cause, but she is definitely more often the one coming in hot, while my role half the time is being a fly on the wall and observing, then coming up with potential plans when our little squad convenes lol. *We have a couple entps helping as well. it is not just us trying to change them*
yes, that's what I meant, thank you
Introverted functions are Recall, Extroverted functions are Real Time.
For a split second INTP sounded close, then you did INTJ.
The director's role does happen naturally and somewhat begrudgingly regularly, because the action side is what people see firstly as useful, on the surface.
I mean, I'm good with that and all, but you can't see the 1000 reasons this matters to me, and you best not step on one of those, because my baby Fi won't like it.
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Okay I remember now 👍🏼👌🏼👍🏼
I have made it a habit of mine to share with others my reasoning(s) as to why I came to my conclusion(s). I have an intuitive mother (who I constantly debate with - playfully bc we both enjoy debating, verbally).😂😂😂 And I enjoy it bc it puts me in the habit of seeing things from multiple points of view. 😁😁😁😁😁
Most entp's I've known closely certainly better fit explorer inventor as opposed to vice versa. They seem to really identify the exploration "phase" of their cognitive process.
That being said, as an intp I identify with theorizer before I identify with designer, but I suppose this could be a pedantic argument.
I just did a quick free online MB test, and was labeled a ENTP-T 'debater'. Joyce was right--as a coach I'm all about jumping into others business and seeing if my hammer goes with their nails. I love exploring different solutions to the problems! I was just a little confused--Daio mentioned 'introverted thinking' a few times in describing ENTP. Is that meant to imply that there's an introverted quality to all types?
No, every cognitive function has an extraverted and introverted version which depicts our stance regarding the function in question - introverted thinking is more subjective and internal - it is more like deep logical thinking about the matter at hand as opposed to extraverted thinking which mainly wishes to get things done in the most efficient way possible (and organize systems).
We all have a mix of 2 extraverted functions and 2 introverted functions in our function stack.
Interesting. This is my first time to see someone referring to C type. 🤔 Is this something new? If you are a C, them I am a D. You know infp is totally different than intj. Just a support. Not really the core brain in a team. Not the one who make decision. Even being infp type 5 Enneagram, I still need intp for brainstorming or connect with. My ideas aren't original or coming from myself (all the time). Still Fi dom and feel suck with it.
The suffix, D, C, N or H, refers to the subtype, same labels as in Socionics (c.f. Victor Gulekno). C is creative, D is dominant, N is normalizing, and H is harmonizing. They also match Dr. Helen Fisher's 4 neuro-types quite well. There is now a bit of info on the web about these. Joyce and I did 16 videos here on UA-cam, and also there's a video with me and Joel and Antonia of Personality Hacker on the topic.
istp's make terrible software engineers btw.
Is this just the names from Please Understand Me 2 from David Keirsey?
Nope. Keirsey has his own 1-word names such as Healer for INFP. Altho' Linda did her graduate training with David, they diverged in style and presentation by the mid 90s, before we developed our 2-word descriptors.
@@TheAncientSpirits I remember reading those
names from somewhere. Might be the holistic view of type or in the book about cognitive functions with you and Berens.
@@Kingmurcer They first appeared in "The 16 Personality Types: Descriptions for Self-Discovery" (1998).
I think Trump isn’t an ESTP, but an ENTJ. He does like to win and plays golf, but he’s clearly a visionary extroverted thinker that leads large enterprises.
I think ESFP.
Well I disagree. I am considering more than the functions. A type is not an additive collection of function use (which is mental processing and behavior). There are other aspects of type. There is temperament, interactive styles, and whole type themes. There is subtype. We can use multiple models to help us "triangulate" a person's type. Trump fits the Artisan/Improviser temperament quite well. Yes, he has a bit of extraverted Thinking and some Ni, as many adult ESTPs do, because people tend to develop their 6th function, especially when all of society demands it, and some of the 4th function as they get older. While I appreciate that so many people are aware of 8 functions and not just the 4-letter preferences, the functions is not the whole story.
@@TheAncientSpirits Trump is ESFP . He is from Florida. I wouldn't be surprised if some INFP from there doing crazy stuff. (Watch video from react channel: People from Florida try Florida man challenge). ESTP use Ti , they are very technical. Some ESTP and ISTP can build a Jet fighter. But they not an inventor that build a prototype machine like INTP and ENTP.
@@zorxdon3426 With due respect to public figures, you can't actually know that. Of course I can't either, though I have 30 years of experience in type profiling. It's of benefit to be humble about typing public figures, in particular when there is a lot of media polarization around them, and also because there's such a thing as a persona and public self, and because people tend to undergo type development. Anyway, another big tip-off is his directing communication style, and if you've read his books or seen him speak at closed-door events (at policy institutes, etc), he works from a set of core logical principles and can get quite technical.
@@TheAncientSpirits Where the ti part from his books all I see is Se-Fi-Te.
