I remember in 2002 when there was a waiting list to buy a new harley. Used bikes were almost the price of new ones etc. I bought a 2000 super glide in 2002, rode it daily for 2 years and sold it for more then I paid. I don't think harley prices are going to rebond at least in my country. Baby boomers are selling off their bikes and there's not a lot of younger guys that can afford such a silly luxury item like a harley.
I really enjoy your style of saw building. You have done enough port jobs to have that feel for what is just enough. I would love to be able to tell my friends that i have a "Tinman" saw. Keep doing what you are doing and above all have fun. Best wishes for you and your family.
You r a humble but great man, keep up the good work and good luck with your job mate as I have a good following you on UA-cam, always interesting to watch 😊
Thanks so much for keeping after this project! I hope I will be able to do some "work saw" type porting some day and I have really been learning a lot from all of your videos. Congratulations on 59,000 subscribers and hope you find your ideal motorcycle soon.
Been following this saw from the start. You brought it a long way brother. Ready to see it cut. It would be a nice one to have in rotation for a bunch of work I do. Wish I could make it to Bunyan this year. Maybe I can talk the wife into it next year.
Congratulations on 59000 subscribers. I enjoy the porting videos, been gathering information from you and iron horse. Eventually going to port something. Thanks for sharing the hard earned knowledge.
Well earned with all the subs you've gained. I don't comment often, but haven't missed a video since Buckin introduced you to us on his channel a few years ago, and have liked them all. Cheers mate!
"Just because you get a deal, doesn't mean it's gonna be a deal" OH BOY is that a statement I can completely relate to right now! Bought a saw off ebay (first problem right there) that said it runs great...pulled it apart yesterday and cylinder and piston are shot, then dug further and the small end on the crank is a beautiful purple color! BALLS! went to stihl dealer last night and ordered new cylinder/piston and crank bearings. They wanted $200 for a new crank that I couldn't stomach, so luckily a different dude on ebay I've bought from before sold a new take off oem crank for this little ms201tc for $80. So all in all I'm into this saw for $400 more than I payed 😢 $300 more and I could have bought It new....but what's the fun in that 😂
I'm in the same boat with an MS 250C which was given to me but up to now has cost me near 180$ in parts Was in very good shape and initially ran well but has been a never ending exercise in frustration to get to start and run consistently as each time a different issue pops up out of nowhere.
You have worked hard with this one they are also popular in the UK but not that expensive. 21 series Jonsered are making good money. I have just bought a really low hour 2156 for £600, about $1000 Canadian.
😊😊 HI TIMAN it's been raining here 2 this week not fit 2 be outside unless U are a duck 🦆 😮 or U have a rain suit on not even worth getting wet 4 it it's not summer time ⌚ 😮 no more U catch a cold like that this time of year /I will be glad when the sunshine ☀ 😊 is back again myself yep indeed it is 😊😊 OMG 9 24 2O24
I came to your channel via Harvey and Buckin', and found a lot of information and good fun content - especially over those recent couple of years when the world stopped... Been good to correspond a couple of times about my 61 (still on the 'ready to put back together in a minute' pile), and of most note now I'm re-watching all these latest vids so I can track the vague and uncertain tuning of my latest 'bargain' AU$150 026. Cheers from Oz, and congrats on a fast approaching 60k subscribers too!
Congrats on 59k! That 26 is going to be a real workhorse. If it was always easy, everyone would build saws. I agree about being positive. life is hard enough.
I’ve appreciated watching this series of videos, especially the one where you said there is no need to get frustrated because it doesn’t start. It’s so true, my Dad would rage, it never helped anything, just clouds the mind for a real solution. Kudos to you for having a decision about your emotions for yourself and your family. I am sure they appreciate it. ❤
Good Job Friend on the 59K viewers! Like you said the 026 is a finicky machine. I thought the 262xp was but the 026 is worse. They cut though when tuned correctly 20” lightweight bad and 23RS chain they rip!
The process of this build ,for the crew who have cared to watch all the episodes is truly very informative. I am blessed to have a modified 026 and it regularly fires on four to five pulls however the idle when warm requires a throttle bump or a stall will occur. Thanks for all the effort required in the production of this series.
Glad it’s finally fixed. I’m ready to see it in the wood! I’ve got a Dolmar 5100 I blind ported and I’m interested to see how this 026 cuts with what you’ve done to it. Good luck on the bike search. Id like to get a Harley bagger one day.
Was trying to find a way to make it out to Ohio this next week, but its just not in the cards this year. Congrats on 59k! You're videos have really helped me build/fix some saws of my own.
I have enjoyed following the project. Really glad you kept at it and that you didn't edit all the hiccups out. Makes it enjoyable to watch and gives us some comfort when our project doesn't work out at first. God job. Keep us posted on how it handles wood. Cheers from Denmark 💪🤘
Don’t just give it away mate put an auction up on your channel and have a live stream auction you deserve to get something back ! You do all the work we just sit and watch you! Love your show mate ! I’m sure others will agree! 🍻🇦🇺👍
This series has made me a bit eager to go for a Stihl chainsaw again. I usually prefer Husqvarna, Jonsered, and older Partner chainsaws, but now I'm tempted to try a Stihl.
Thanks Tinman, you steered me in the right direction. The chokes on both of my MS360 junk pile builds weren't closing all the way with the air filter cover on.
I bought a 46cc craftsman 20in saw tonight for $10. The amazing thing is it runs a few tweaks and it should run better. Unfortunately I have drank the koolaid but I am sticking with the cheap saws for a while longer.
Be honest to yourself with your future bike. Don’t feel guilty if your wife ride with you, it’s probably not her deal away. You will still be a great husband and father if your new bike Has horsepower. Bottom line either get what you want or don’t get a bike at all. Just an old man’s opinion. Thank you for your honest Sawman content.
@@tinmanssaws It's been my pleasure, I've always tinkered with chainsaw but not with the confidence that I have now, all thanks to you. Just changed a primer bulb on my brother's 240 husky and of course it needed to be sharpened...😆. One day when we meet I can explain in more detail how much more your channel has meant to me personally. Someday we will run into each other and have a good chat. TC
Radio comes in clutch that and the roadglide is like driving a sofa.
Block heater. Cures cold weather starting. But you know that 😮. 😊
I cannot think of a channel or creator more deserving of success on UA-cam than you!👍
Love porting videos. Appreciate this series 👍👍👍
Congrats on 59,000 viewers! Always hit the like before i watch...just that kinda channel👍 SW Ontario
Congratulations Tinman, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hallelujah it starts! Well done!been fun following along on the journey!
Harley’s are dirt cheap in the US currently, take advantage they will get expensive again! Enjoying the videos as always.

Congrats on 59K! This series on the 026 has been awesome. (I'm gonna use your timing numbers when I do mine.)

I'm glad you kept at it and got the saw starting easier and running good.
Here in Oz, a non running 028 is around $150, and a running saw about $500, and our money is about the same as Canadian in value.
You have "Patience and Perseverance" That's why we like watching your UA-cam videos!
Let's be honest it's not running right and you know it, it's ok it happens to all of us, only who's not trying doesn't make mistakes.
Love the real and down to earth of your channel friend. Much respect brother

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 59,000 SUBS GREAT CHANNEL TINMAN 😁👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you I have enjoyed this build looking forward to the next one. Congrats on the 59000 subs!
Tinman we love you!
Finally lol looking good my friend perfect size for the power it will have now
I could definitely use a smaller saw lol
I hope to see you again this year at Bunyon
Make sure you come on over if you see me.
Awesome thanks 👍
Okay, what is the name of saw? $#$####***## grin!
4 pulls is typical for a stihl
Stihl chainsaws are like Porche, Mercedes, and BMW, they all run great for the first ten years then you better find a good mechanic. $😂$

Ya i think I'm going too work on my saw it will take 1 hour. I started at 8 in the morning finished at 8 in the evening.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅.
My 026 almost %100 of the time fires on the third pull on choke and then 2 pulls after the choke is off I use this saw more than any other
So I guess 5 pulls is ok then? This one seems to like 5 with choke but it runs on the 5th.
Any idea as to when you will be passing it on? Or will you be choosing a different one? 😊
Whenever I decide it's "good"
How's the Tinman and family
You coming to banyan this year??
@@tinmanssaws I'm going to try to
I want to see it in the wood soon please 💪🫡
Ive been fighting a MS361 that i rebuilt. Its frustrating for sure but rewarding when you can track down the issues

What a journey this has been. From scrap to a ported operating saw. You have certainly boosted my confidence with 2 stroke engines.
😊
Awesome job Tinman, great series, enjoyed watching it.
Love ya tinman
You're a genius though you did the bearings straight away. I thoughtI was good but after breakin I'm splitting the case oem bearings and seals😅😢😂😮
Hoping to make it on Sunday to Bunyon have my adopted grandson birthday party on Saturday
🎉 59,000 it’s grown so much and you have earned it Tinman. We enjoy all the content you do thanks for bringing us along

I hope you get it running! Your vids have been such an inspiration to not give up on a project.
Still like Bosch plugs in my experience. Thanks Tubman

Thank you my brother to the north👍🏻👍🏻
59! Oh yeah, great to hear this. Keep it goin Tinman
Got there! The saw did what it was supposed to do from the start of the video.
Well done Tinman. 👍

I have dad’s 064 and a 038 that I’m looking to freshen up. He sawed in Alaska with his 064 in the mid 80 and still fires on 5 pulls
You’re a good man and provide quality videos, you deserve to be where you are and more. Bunyan we will work hard to build it even more. ♥️♥️👍

My wife has ridden 10s of thousands of Mike with me. She's a great passenger..
i think you opened up the muffler a little also!! i did mine also and there's a big difference in performance!!
Yes that is correct
Hello everyone
She lives!
Tinman what's your opinion on timing advance pros and cons?
Some saws need it but often they don't. Trial and error is the only way to know
SUCCESS! and 59k soon to be 100k. Good thing come to good people. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
