I went to my favorite church thrift shop today and got a brand new mini Oliso iron for 3.00! The man in the shop thought I was crazy I was so excited!! I had just watched this video, but a new iron was not in my budget. Coincidences are God's way of staying anonymous! Thanks, Laura! Love your videos.
Beautifully stated about "coincidences are God's way of staying anonymous!" Thank you for sharing this ❤
I use my little iron mainly because I live off grid and the small iron puts less load on our solar system. Plus it's just darn handy . I keep mine plugged into a power strip along with a light and when I switch on the power strip the iron and the light both come on. This makes it convenient to have light at my ironing station and a visual reminder that the iron is on. When I'm done I turn off the power strip.
I can’t begin to express how much I love my small Oliso in my sewing nest and for travel. Worth every penny.
Oh, just what I needed to see! Thank you, Laura! I hate when my iron turns off while I’m sewing or doing alterations. This eliminates that problem.
I love my little Oliso! I have a tiny space full of fabrics, crochet, and crafts to make. Tiny space, tiny iron, it works like a charm.
Thanks, Laura, for the pressing tips! 👍🏼💜
I use a small travel iron, it’s been a big game changer for me.
Good ironing tips. I have the little iron and really like using it.
I love my little Oliso iron!
This confirms I need a little iron too. Thank you for sharing.
I have both of those irons and love them.
Thank you for this!!!
I just LOVE 😍 my little pink Oliso iron ❤
Loving my small iron Laura, thanks for sharing.
I love my big Olisso and have looked at the mini-Olisso. My daughter uses the mini as her only iron. I have been searching for a small project iron that has the auto-off feature. It's a must safety feature for me. I'd rather have to wake it up than forget to turn it off and start a fire.
Thank you for sharing this, I am new to sewing and any tip or how to is so helpful to me.
I adore my little Oliso! Game changer!
I have the larger Oliso and love it!
Great information as always! But how large is your pressing mat and where did you acquire it!? ❤
Other reviews say that if you stand that iron up on its heel that sometimes the water leaks out. I’m definitely thinking of getting this one because the Dritz iron that I have is for right handed people and the cord gets in the way and it’s actually quite dangerous the way I’m reaching over the iron all the time
Great timing as I have been considering purchasing a small iron. I already have the larger Oliso. Thanks for the great tips in using the small iron for pressing blocks.😊
Great video demonstration 👍
The hand hold of my oliso gets very hot. Just purchased and about to return. Does yours do the same thing?
Excellent timing!! Great info👍👏
I have these both and the wee wand one 😂❤
Great tips and demo. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
I've got arthritis in my hands. I wonder if you find it hard to hold while ironing? Thank you for the pressing tutorials.
I have the Rowenta small travel iron for that very reason. I get less hand fatigue from a “regular”handle. I tried the mini Oliso in the store and I could feel my hand cramp within a couple of minutes.
Great tips, thanks! I think I’m the only one who doesn’t like the small Oliso. I find the dial hard to turn and the markings impossible to read. I’m old, maybe that’s the problem. LOL
I have a steamfast small iron. I love it and it was really reasonable.
You're not the only one. I found the same as you and I didn’t like that it wasn't a handle. My hand cramped while testing in the store.
Do you have a small iron carry case?
Where do you get these irons?
Check online. Just do a basic search for options.
Question...do you press and starch prior to cutting? Just curious.
Yes my first big pressing is with the big iron and starch
What about LEAKING????????????
Those seams were not flat my goodness. She needs to use steam and clapper and if you don’t want steam then definitely use a clapper or just any block of wood. And then towards the end when she was using a higher setting and the steam it looked a lot better
And then towards the end she’s talking about stitch and press yet she didn’t do that so she’s not even following her own advice. When you have that many pieces in a block you really would want to press those seams before adding more pieces. Maybe if she was just doing that for a demo and not going to use it
