I absolutely love my little 2 cfm cordless Navac vacuum pump combined with the trublu hose and Apion schrader core removal tool. Five minute vacuum down to 400 micron. It’s freakin awesome.

I agree with the comments to put the micron gauge on the 3/8" line when pulling from the suction line.
I also believe that you introduced some air back into the system. A small amount, but some air.
It happened when you were replacing the Schrader core. Some air went in when the valve was opened under vacuum. The air went into the core tool during the core install.

Which is why you should release a small amount of refrigerant into the system (if pumped down) to pressurize the system and not loose that vacuum. Use valve cores on both suct & disch lines to gain better flexibility.

You really don’t get a proper micron reading when you hook to gauge to the pump but you probably already know that and are doing it for convenience. You’re supposed to have the micron gauge at the furthest point away from the pump. I put my pump on the suction side and my gauge on the liquid with a one hose set up.

    Great video taddy
Read the triple evacuation, i get we all start somewhere but i giggle thinking a person is knowledgeable enough to know about evacuation but has to be told to get the refrigerant out.
    All love.

I think id put the micron guage on the liquid line port, that way your looking at a true system vacum.

What makes the suction line micron reading invalid or not a “true” vacuum?

Hi , you can’t have real vacuum reading hooking up micro gauge on vacuum pump. It should be on furthest away service port. I use Navac 2 CFM vacuum pump, Trublue hose and BluVac Pro micron gauge. Great setup.

Thank you, sir. Very helpful. I will finish my trade school course this week, and I need to start looking for the tools. Can you please make a video update about the " starting tool list ". Thanks again.

How do you like the Navac cordless? I just bought the Fieldpiece vacuum and used it for the first time this week, oh man what a game changer compared to a jb industries, don't get me wrong those jb industries from 10 years ago are still runnin strong as long as your changing your oil.. but I pulled a complete vacuum in no time to about 137 microns in like 10 minutes. Thanks for sharing Tad per usual!

Check the specs for the nitrogen. I buy Nitrogen 5.0 (99.999% Pure nitrogen, as a protective and purging gas in metallurgy, metal processing industry, chemical industry, electronics industry and food industry) which has a lower parts per million water than nitrogen sold by refrigeration houses. Another benefit is I own the bottle. Also, avoid cheap nitrogen sold for so-called fuel efficiency BS for cars. With modern pumps I do not see a real need for triple evacuation I prefer a longer test but I'm willing to agree to disagre.

Can you put the micron gauge on the blue hose port while you suck down?

Why wouldn't you open the refrigerant before putting the core back in?
