The way I see it, Luffy may be able to harm Kaido rn, but his biggest obstacle is to beef up his defense or speed to not get blitzed and one shotted before he can get a hit in.
Well the training he did should of made his Defense pretty beefy as well. And I personally feel that if Luffy was in his right mind he wouldn't of been hit when he fought Kaido. Since future sight needs a calm mind to be used.
There is the treason why HBO's first thought was to have Luffy BLOCK Big Mom's hit with Projection Haki

I wouldn't call it a hate boner but it would make more sense if Zoro didn't have any major involvement beating kaido and instead beat a commander and maybe a flying six. Kaido should only be for the captain trio, kinemon and some of the scabbards.

And I haven't even started on the Ryuma Wano dragon parallels.
@@kennythelenny6819 storywise it doesn't make sense for Zoro to take on kaido. It makes the most sense for him to fight king, maybe a flying six, then orochi to avenge yasui orochi is likely to dip is as soon as the fighting starts so he probably will be far away from kaido. The scabbards aren't strong enough to hurt kaido but neither is Luffy that's why they all fight him together. It makes sense for the at least kinemon and one or two scabbards to be there because this is their fight no they won't do all the leg work but they'll be there. If Zoro is there helping then it ruins kid and the samurais time to shine which isn't fair since this is one of the few if not only times we'll get to see it full on.

Inherited will is OP main themes which you can't deny. Zoro inherited the will of Oden. On top of this, he already was shown to have relations with Ryuma Shimotsuki(Zoro could turn out to be one as well) who protected Wano and became WSSM during his time and he killed a dragon that appeared on Wano's sky. Zoro inherited that blade from him aka shusui the only blade to kill a dragon and not only that the only other known black blade in OP aside from Kokutou Yoru.
Hitetsu told Zoro Enma has yet to turn black which we all know it will. Is it a stretch to speculate that Zoro will surpass Ryuma by slaying a dragon just like him to protect Wano using Oden's blade and turn Enma black just like with shusui??
I don't trust the movies at all though.. they just do stereotypicall anime moves. For example all characters vs the villain.. They do this all the time in anime movies!

Kid went to big mom’s territory, was able to fight against a sweet general and take what he wants and leave. Fought against the Akagami pirates, lost an arm, but still managed to escape. without any alliances. And stood up to Kaido as well.
If Luffy didn’t have so many people to back him up during big mom’s arc, and dogtooth’s show of respect to stab himself, or pedro’s sacrifice, or the germa and the sun pirates. The whole goddamn series would end the moment they decided to destroy mother caramel’s photo.

I can see Kid getting the boost by Hawkins card and defeating either Kaido or Bigmom by himself and luffy teaming up with some other allies to defeat the other yonko so Kid gets full credit and get a huge Bounty increase while luffy gets an increase but small enough so that kid and luffy can be equal in bounty and from defeating a yonko, he gains so stronger crewmates from either Big Mom or Kaido crew to be able to contend with luffy.

there is one attack sequence i want to see more than anything. So Kid gets a new attack called Railgun (because railguns use electromagnetism to fire) and he starts launching stuff at Kaido at immense speed. Law room switches one of these objects with Luffy in whatever new form or power up he has. Luffy is now flying towards Kaido at like mach 7 or whatever and SMACKS Kaido. This is what I want

When is Luffy coming out with his Fire or Lightning based Gear 4 attacks? Gear 2 had Red Hawk, while Gear 3 had Thor. Gear 4 needs a King Kong Red Hawk/Thor or a King Cobra/Black Mamba Red Hawk.

Luffy's gonna tag team with Zoro, that's my prediction. I feel like there was a reason they emphasised Oden hurting Kaido. Zoro has his sword now, I don't think Oda would make that a big deal for nothing. Big Mom also being around may complicate things too. I heard you saying Zoro would fight Orochi during the episode with King's flaming kick, I don't think that will happen. I'm gonna say Orochi is going to end up being weak, a joke that doesn't pose a threat to anybody with real fighting prowess. With katakuri, I'll argue Katakuri won in terms of the physical battle. He knocked out Luffy, stayed standing only to make sure Luffy was down and out then fell over for his victory nap. He even got up ready to fight again when Luffy woke up, but just didn't want to anymore not because he couldn't physically, but because of the respect he gained for Luffy.
Conquerors Haki is just fodder control to this day and to look cool and make characters unique purely for having it. I doubt it will be a real factor.
It gonna be the Supernovas VS Kaido including Zoro and Killer that is like 5 vs 1 already. And I also think that Drake, Hawkins is not out of the picture yet they will come to aid in some way.
I agree with Zoro being a part of the fight against Kaido. He might not be there for the entirety of the battle, but I think he'll deal a blow to wound Kaido (maybe even reopen the one from Oden?) And then Luffy will go to work. No way they give Zoro the only weapon to wound Kaido and then not let him be a part of the fight. At least I hope not lol

If She wasn't there, Luffy would have never gotten hit in the first place neither would Katakuri. The fight would have taken the exact same route with Luffy exhausting Kat's Haki till it was the appropriate time for Snakeman.And the hit Luffy took the spear was rotating hence allot more severe than the one Katakuri self inflicted on himself.

One point you miss about Lucci vs. Luffy. When Luffy first faces Lucci the anime at least focused alot on how the straw hats didn't really give it there all fighting because they were more focused on finding out why Robin was "betraying" them and leaving the crew. Nami tells Iceberg that once they found out that she was doing it to save them that there was nothing that could stop them from getting their friend back and they could go all out. At least that's what I got from it and I literally just watched this arc today lol.

At this point of time where One piece is at it's peak, and close to finishing, I expect Luffy at best to be at yonko level, and damage if not defeat either the two; Kaido or Big mom. We've seen Luffy develop rapidly and fast, he will lose a couple of times, and during those loses, he learns power-ups to get him a edge in the fight. If anything Luffy will be able to defeat Kaido, and Kid will defeat big mom, or they both team up defeating Kaido. Let's not forget the fact that Law can split people up and maybe even take hearts, Him being a support for the 2 Super Novas will definatly help both defeat the Yonkos. I'm super excited to what's about to happen in Onigashima Island!
Don't forget luffy and zoro both been training in wano....luffy vs kaido and zoro vs big mom. Oden and Rogers knew Joy boy would be coming at this time which is why oden told his men to wait 20 years.....luffy is joy boy who is suppose to finish up the mess from 800 years ago and surpass even rogers and this is probably 2nd last or 3rd last arc of the series meaning luffy and zoro have to be at least strong enough to defeat a yonko 1 vs 1. Sanji/Kidd/Law/Jinbei will be enough for rest of the commanders

The answer is already in the narrative.
What I mean is that Kaido was introduced with the saying "if it's 1 on 1, Kaido wins". The only answer possible, at that point, is that Luffy won't 1v1 him. That's going to be a group effort. I already can see someone bringing up something like "you fool mugiwara, you're not bad, but don't you know what they say? If it's one on one, kaido wins" and Luffy standing up and saying something like "yeah... but I'm not alone!" and then a huge double pannel with the main players from the alliance closing up behind him.

King, the idea of Big Mom hurting Kaido for no reason is not cool because like or not, his efforts won't be that impressive compared to everyone else. At this moment, I'm scared that Oda is gonna give Luffy an asspull powerup on him. I just don't know any other way around it.
Crazy theory: Kaido had immortality surgery operated on him when he was younger. He probably doesn't know it himself, if I'm right hopefully we'd get to see it in his backstory... and since Haki kinda counters devil fruit effects on some level, it would make sense how advanced Haki is actually able to deal some damage..

Another important thing to look at is the fact that they showed Whitebeard vs Shanks fighting, their haki clashed, their weapons didn't clash, sky split. Then they showed Kaido and Big Mom fighting, their haki clashes but their weapons actually connect and the sky splits. That's the author telling us that Kiado and Big Mom both don't have masterful control over their haki (being so powerful with just their DF). And let's not forget that Luffys training has always mattered for the upcoming big fights. Luffy will likely beat these two Yonkos because of his new mastery of Haki. This however, wont help him in future fights against Shanks, but that's awhile from now if it ever happens.

Regarding Kaido's "immortality" I was watching on Facebook a video is God of War 4 the fight between Kratos and Baldur (not sure if that's the right name but the guy who has invulnerability to any damage physical o magical) and this guy have very similar traits to Kaido (except for the physical stature, Kaido is huge and can transform into a dragon, etc.) but strength wise they are comparable, Baldur killed the world serpent which is a magnificent fit (I think the serpent is as bigger or bigger that zunicha in OP world) and both Kaido & Baldur are looking for a similar think. Baldur for pain (maybe death) and Kaido death (he does fill pain because when he feel from the sky island he did complain of a headache).
The most interesting think here is how Kratos was finally able to defeat Baldur, the "spell" was broken for him to be able fill pain and stop regeneration what if the same applies to Kaido e.g. beside the immortality/eternal youth surgery had to be revoked by law ability maybe there is a witchcraft devil fruit that granted Kaido the invulnerability or maybe that is a trait of his dragon fruit but that would be different to Baldur because after any damage he was able to completely heal/regenerate he body without any wounds but Kaido still has thes scar from Oden Enma cut unless he only gained the invulnerability/immortality later.
The invulnerability/immortality could also be just his Methical Devil Fruit awakening as well. We have to consider that the Kaido who was cut by Oden-Sama is several times stronger now, as his rival at the time Moria was defeated by Luffy even before the time skip = without haki.
To finalize Oden-Sama did warn Kaido to get as strong as he can because his downfall was coming and all Kaido is doing is getting stronger. Maybe this attempts of suicide are just Kaido's way of finding the one that could really hurt him in some way, to think that even the Marines could not kill him after attempting it? Garp, Sengoku, Kong, Imo, Gorosei? Also the pirates that captured him (candidates: Whitbeard, Big Mom, Shiki even Shanks)

Well if toughness is an attribute of his zoan, then it would stand to reason even in his base form, he would have the toughness of the dragon form. Kind of like how chopper's fruit is a zoan but his "base" form is still technically in effect because he can speak and rationalize, etc. Because if chopper had to transform to get the effects of the fruit, wouldn't that mean he could revert back to looking like a typical reindeer and not speak? Honestly, from how it's portrayed, Kaido's "base" form is the stronger of the two forms. While the dragon form is nice, its a huge target and really only useful for large groups.
Keep in mind that his df has yet to be conformed so the theory that he is an actual dragon is still possible

What if the Kaido fight is a team up that lasts for days and all the backup gets tired/KO'd gradually until only Luffy is left to finish off ? Basically a team effort and a 1v1 at the same time, kind of.

About the dragon scales, i belive they work similar to Marco's flames/regen, they are a passive hability that it's active even in base form. The actual scales may not be visible but its toughness is still there

unpopular opinion: i hope luffy solos kaido. now here ma out. remember when ichigo soloed the captains, being the strongest shinigami like he was, he was not even at his strongest as we learn later on, ichigo beat byakuya which is a captain many many years of experiences and with a mastered bankai, yet ichigo beat him with his newly acquired bankai with not that much a experience. Heck they even said ichigo was not ready for them yet. But yet he beat him which he shouldn't have. But no fan complained about.
same thing happened when seiya from saint seiya beat the gold saints which the gold saints considered a ant taking on a lion, or naruto beat a akatsuki member which was as strong as hokage. If this new technique of arms haki increases the damage output and bypasses his durability, then it could be possible he can beat him alone. His snake man form fused with this new technique, its possible. But we need more info on this new form of haki. We also need to know if Oden used this technique when he damaged Kaido. If Oden was only using base form arms haki, then I would think the advanced form of arms haki could cause more damage. But that's also assuming Luffy is on Odens level. Unless this is where Luffy unlocks his awakened form during a second fight with Kaido. IDK lol
1st fight happens and luffy law and kidd get touched by kaido, O-lin loses her memory again and comes back, kaido gets the work a lil, luffy convices the other supernovas, round 2 supernovas vs kaido, Marine/WG send have their representative sent down, (im thinking Coby because of drake ), O-lin rampages across wano vs kaido and then gets put to sleep by kaido, Kaido then gets High Diffed by the Conglomerate, luffy landing the final blow. 5 rounds of pain
Round one. Big Mom is there with kaido. The main goal here is to remove big Mom from the fight. Hence Sanji comes in clutch again. Every thing goes successful but law does die to make kaido mortal. Second fight they run in to katakuri. Intense staredown then cliffhanger. Next chapter he ask Luffy to join his crew!!! He and Luffy have epic battle with kaido with some assistance from others to pull of the win. In the background Kidd becomes an enemy because he attacks a helpless big Mom while she is eating Sanji food. Just a random thought
I think Marco is the perfect ally to help so it isn’t like Shanks or Blackbeard stealing the thunder but also a huge load off of Luffy’s plate. I think Marco powerwise is the sweet spot between too weak to be useful and too strong and making Luffy irrelevant. Marco realistically can help tremendously against Admirals and Yonko without casting too much of a shadow on Luffy.
i think the 9 scabbards will play a vital role on taking down kaido
maybe dealing a vital blow that will slow him down just like oden?

There is also the possibility that Moria could eventually take away Kaido's shadow that could dissolve his body when struck by sunlight....IF his " immortality " doesn' t apply to that scenario as well

This wouldn't be ideal. But I bet if Law could get Kaido in dragon form to swallow an object and trade places with the object, he could probably kill him from the inside. Just bypass the scales altogether. But I would love if Moria showed up. That would be great

I dont really know how awakened devil fruits work, but if loans can be awoken then would it be fair to say that Kaido's scales could be unconsciously "active" even when he's in base form? or in some way his awakened devil fruit powers have strengthened his base durability to such a degree that its just like having his scales under his skin?
